jesse walked over to alex and could tell she was having a nightmare he brushed his hand across her cheek, "it's alright alex, i wont let them hurt you." he whispered.

 

Hawk looked back towards Jesse. "Thought you were going to try and stop. Anyway I think the suns up soon. I can see the pinkish glow already. Your shift should only be about half an hour." He clambered down from the rock and handed Jesse his axe haft. "Use my axe. Its quite light and Ive sharpened it well. Im not gonna bother with sleep once the sun starts coming up I can't sleep anyway." As if to prove his point Hawk gave a stretch and did a quick and quiet jog around the rock.

"Ok I'm gonna' go for a walk. Ill be back in 20 minutes tops. You may as well not stand guard really. If... well its cooler at night they wont dare as the suns rising."

With that he set off towards a sand dune that he hadnt been to yet.

 

jesse looked out to the horizon as the sun slowly rose, "mabey i should ask her....." he mumbled.

 

jesse smiled and said, "good morning, so what were you dreaming about?" he asked while taking in her beauty.

 

"oh......um i think he's jogging right now. so what do you want to do today?"

 

"then i'll assist you and i'm not taking no for an answer." jesse said with a smile.

 

Melanie snored softly in her sleep. For the first time in a long time, she was completely dreamless. She didn't want to wake up but to her annoyance, she could feel herself slipping into conciousness.

Still living in Riku and Melanie's house after taking control of Riku's body, Mike woke up with a jolt. He sat up, yawning groggily. "Annother dream about her..."

 

jesse felt a little bad, "yeah your right....."

 

"I don't need a babysitter!" Melanie complained groggily.

 

Hawk was just about to reach the top of the dune. " Just a....little....further," he panted " Gotta'...keep...going to the....top."

He was a couple metres from the top and collapsed onto the sand but only for effect. He crawled his way to the top and looked over, astounded. There was just a flat plain of sand as ffar as he could see. "This isnt right..." he muttered. "Im sure this doesnt happen. Or does it? Oh whatever." He turned and stretched. "Nature is a wonderful thing. Well most of it anyway...."

"Well back I a-go i guess." He ran down the ridge, it was much easier than the way up and he had arrived at the camp in only a minute or two. He didnt go in but he could hear the conversation going on inside. 'Whether they wanted him to or not' he thought with a smirk.

"Yeah your right" He heard something else, from Mel this time. But even he couldnt hear it from here at that volume. He walked in.

Maxwell breathe the air surrounding his mansion. "Disgusting. I can still smell the human stench in the air." Walking towards his dining room, he signal for the butler to come in. The butler was no more than a small child, a child of the age of 9. It was Maxwell first experiment. Fusing the brain of an intruder in a live human.

"So what is the news of the Hammer of Eve?" Max asked.

The kid gave him a sorrowful look, "The Hammer of Eve is unsuccessful. The gun itself is partial operational, but the satellite that controls it seems to malfunction every time when we want to starts out. Intruder Scientist doesn't know the reason. Some say it is due to the sun's ray, overpowering the satellite and others say it is the stars, interfering with the signal."

Hearing the bad news, Maxwell seem to lose his appetite. "Here take this away. You know human brains will spoil if left out in the open. I will feed on it later, right know I don't feel well." He order the little kid.

Nodding, the kid came over and took the dishes away. Maxwell never gave him a name. He just refer to him as the kid.

He needed the Hammer of Eve to work. It is a device that will eliminate the humans for sure, but after 4 years of development, he wonder if this was a lost cause.

 

The Kid came in the room with a glass fill with red substance. Offering it to Maxwell, he was patted on the head. Taking the drink, he gulp it. "It is good. I guess humans do make a difference in the world. Their blood is splendid." Maxwell croak.

"I need to go the Black Market today, I need to pick some more devices, also we are running low on ammo. You know we need to go hunting. We are running low on food." Maxwell laughed. Using a black scarf, he began to wrap it around his head to his mouth, leaving his eyes open. Using another scarf, he tied it around his waist.

"If you need me, just call me." Max smiled as he mumbled.
