Death Note: A New Battle

"My very hero. . . . The one I was practically worshipping all these years is mortal. . ." Saotoshi began, spinning his pencil. "Why should I not continue in his glorious line of work?"

He got up with the notebook in his hand.

"With this, I shall create a new world!"

 

"Well, first I must establish that Kira has returned. Then, I must not fall for any silly traps. The first Kira, as you know, was almost caught in one of the smaller cities when that L fellow but that criminal on a news announcement." Saotoshi paced around the room. "Odds are, my opponents will be a bit wiser this time, considering the past exploits. The police will know to cover their faces. . . According to these rules, that's how it works, right? They cover their faces to avoid their names being seen by 'shinigami eyes'?"

 

"Shinigami, now why would I just let them die normally? I need to know some of the limits of what I can do." He said, writing the names down.

"Suicide, Murdered for being the suspected traitor. . . . . . This will be interesting. And what's more, it's how you expect a bunch of rats like them to act."

 

"My name is Saotoshi Kusaraga, and apples are located in basket on a kitchen counter. Be careful that my sister doesn't see you." He told the shinigami as he finished up the names.

 

"Man, why do i do these type of rash things? I'm suppose to be calling my parents' friends about their death, not meeting them.." Rini sighed annoyed with herself as she knocked on the door of the Kusaraga residents. She went through her father's mail and noticed some sent to a Mr. Kusaraga.... unless it was their first name instead, she's not entirely sure.

"Well... I could still ask if he could give me a job." She sighed tying her long hair back waiting for someone to answer...

 

Back at the Police Station, Ano was called to the Chiefs Office regarding his knowledge about the syndicate. He was in there a few minutes with the rest of the officers just outside the door trying to listen in.
The Door eventually opened and Ano walked out. "So, how did it go?" asked one of the officers.
"Well..." Ano said. "He wants to stay home awhile. Mental thing, a few weeks off for me before I come back here" he lied. Grabbing his coat, he went to the door walking right into it as he forgot that it was a pull and not a push door. His badge fell on the floor and he noticed, but he left it on the floor as he had just been suspended. When he got outside he thought to himself, "this Zero better help me out here". He drank all that was in his flask and drove home tired.

 

"Shinigami. . . Death Note. . . What have I gotten myself into?" Saotoshi said with a smile.

Saotoshi's sister answered the door with a smile.

"Oh. . . You're not the delivery. . oh well, come in, come in!"

 

Rini blinked and smiled faintly walking in.

"Hello, sorry to intrude at the moment, but is your dad here? He was a friend of my dads..."

 

Everything had been going downhill for Ano since the suspension. No reply from Zero (yet), his car received a few new dents, he has walked into the door several times forgetting that it was a pull and not a push type, He has fallen down his stairs numerous times and to top it all of, his favourite drink was now finished.
"I need to go out..." he mumbled. Ano walked to his car and hopped inside. He turned the key only to hear the spitting of the engine before it died indicating that it has run out of fuel. "Urrrgh, not now, I really don't need this now!" he said before laying his head on the steering wheel and falling asleep.

 

The sister shook her head.

"No. . . Why? Is there something you need to talk with him about?"

"By now all those mafia people should be dead. . . . And nobody the wiser. They'll just appear to be a bunch of thieving, traitorous rats. All of them thinking the next guy turned them in. ." Saotoshi muttered to himself as he glanced at his watch.

 

"Yes, unfortunately," Rini sighed putting her head to her forehead, "I just wanted to talk to him about my parents, he was real close friends of the family and um, well..."

She closed her eyes before she smiled at the sister twisting the ring around her finger in an awkward fashion, "Mind if I stay until I talk with him about my case? I... might need his help when I'm going over some stuff with my parents' lawyer in a few days."
