~Broken Dreams~

"Oh my GOOOOOD!" Raven mumbled loudly as kept cycling. "I'll never be there in time! And why does the usual spot have to be so far away from MY house...". He finally rode into town, and soon got to the usual spot. He dashed towards it and broke fiercely. *huff* *huff*
"H-Hi, guys... What's up?"

 

Lily laughed so hard she nearly fainted, she tried to get her breath back then she looked up at Ed, "My grandad wears one of those, and plus i dont really like those coats, they look wierd on me." She noticed a certain look on Ed's face that she's never seen before. 'hmmm....he might have a bad tummy ache or something' she thought to herself. She looked down and started playing with the peice of string again. She suddenly heard Raven burst through the door. He's never early is he? She looked up and smiled at him.

 

Ed looked over at Raven, and tried (succesfully) not to laugh. He got up, strode over to Raven, bonked him on the head, and said; "Dumbass! If you keep speeding like that, the bicycle police are going to pull you over, and give you a "Hey, look at me I was speeding!" ticket."

 

Lily laughed again.....she soon came to realise that this is the most that she laughed all week. She was happy to be with all her friends again and that they all know how to cheer eachother up. Everything was starting to add up, the more she was with her awesome friends, the more she forgets about everything thats happened all her life. She looked up at Raven. "over sleep again huh?"

 

Raven smiled sheeply. "I can't keep myself from doing something to my alarm clock everytime it rings.
This is like the 5th clock this month. If hell exists... it's full of set alarm clocks." He said. He walked over to the couch and jumped on his usual spot. "All skipping school, huh?"

 

"Bar?" Raven asked while his left eyebrow shot up. "Sounds like a place you kiddos can't go to." He said.
"Me neither, now that i think of it..." Raven is an early student, who skipped a few grades. This is his second year in collage. "Maybe if i show that i go to collage" He laughed.

 

"And I might be 18, but I'm still not alcohol legal." He stood up, "But you know, we are all musicians,-" He looked at everyone, "-Why don't we start a band"

He pointed to himself. "I play drums, and well, if I say so myself."

He pointed to Max. "Max is a helluva keyboardist, and he's not too bad on a guitar."

He looked to Barry. "Barry there's a pretty good singer, really good actually. More than he gives himself credit for to be honest."

He looked to Lily. Unintitionally giving her a more tender smile. "Lily's sick on her bass. And she can slap bass too. And that's impressive for her smaller hands."

He went up to Raven. "Even Raven's dumb ass is good for something. He's a good rythm guitarist."


Then he looked to Will. "And Will's a guitar poet. He puts those notes together like they're his very soul."

He looked straight into everyone's eyes. "We can do this. If we can get one. Just one good gig, we can see the Apollo!"

And, just being honest, I'm not letting a single one of you get caught in a bar. Especially not myself.

 

Raven clapped his hands slowly. "Nicely spoken, man." he praised. "Although it could it use some perfectioning at my part", he smiled. "To be perfectly honest, i've been thinking the same thing. I haven't played seriously in like ages!
Count me in, dude!"

 

"Smaller hands?" Lily said whilst inspecting her hands......they weren't small. Were they? She looked up she didn't no what to say, she didnt want to let her friends down but at the same time she didnt want to stand in front of a huge crowd and make a fool out of herself. 'But maybe...' she thought 'this could help to take her mind off things, she wouldn't be depressed all the time either. "i dunno......"

 

Ed looked to Lily. "Oh, come on. We've all heard you play. You're a goddess with that guitar." He knelt in front of Lily. "And we'll all make sure none of us makes fools of ourselves. Besides, I've played in a band before. I can make sure we do things right."

He looked into her eyes. "Please, don't say no. It'll be fun anyway!"

 

Lily moved back slightly. 'Goddess? who is he kidding?' She thought to herself. But she could see that Ed was really desperate for her to do this, that or maybe he was really desperate for the toilet. She grinned sheepishly, "uuuummmm......fine!" She sighed "you can get up now" She said to Ed who was still kneeling down on the floor. She took one last look at her hands and spoke, slowly lifting her head up. "I'm in"

 

Barry was totally oblivious to the compliment that Edward had given him, and he hadn't been aware that anyone was here, he had been glued to the screen of his desktop with his headphone almost suction-cupped onto his head.

Barry's pager beeped, and before he could even say hi to Edward or Rave' (The nickname Barry gave him), a look of panic and shock crossed his face and he ran out the door and into the street.

Barry felt bad that he didn't have time to say 'hi' to his good friends Ed and Raven, but hey- he saw them almost everyday.
Barry felt around his back pocket and pulled out a key to his rusty, old El Camino.

"Shi-Shi-Shi-Shi-Shit..." He quietly muttered to himself as he opened the door and started up the car.

"... So, So, So, So Listen Up 'Cause You Can't Say Nothin'!
You Shut Me Down With A Push Of Your Button, but yo, I'm Out And I'm Gone! I'll Tell You Now I Keep It On And On!"

Barry quickly turned the music off, he massaged his head slowly, "Too loud..." He muttered to himself as he put on some Phoenix.

Barry drove through 23rd Ave. until he got to Bunker Street where he saw Jessica trying to pull a sofa out of the front door.
Barry gulped and got out of the car, "Hey, need any help with that?" Barry shrugged as Jessica dropped the couch.

"Where the f*** have you been, Barry!" Jessica said, he hand aggressively place on her hips as if she was waiting for some sort of stupid excuse.

"Geez... I come to help you move out and this is how you greet me?"

Jessica made her arms limp as she whined, "Baaaarry... You were supposed to be here at four thirty... and it's FIVE. And... and I move the frickin' couch..."

Barry groaned, "Alright, alright, I'll help you with the damn couch, Jessi'." He said jumping over and helping her out.

 

"Uh-hum..." Raven coughed. "You have expierence being in a band?" Raven asked Ed. "I didn't know that. What music did you play?" Just as he asked the question, he saw Barry (which he didn't even notice)rush out the door.
"Wow.. He was in a rush, i guess", Raven said shocked.

 

Will laughed and said. He's not the only one to have band experience Rave." He said, tapping a bit on the keyboard of hhs laptop. He had been in a band and they were good too, but the lead singer was too controlling.

 

'Yes you can say that...' he thought to himself. 'I'll never be so ignorant again... i have to make sure.'
"Do we have any ideas about this? Like... what music are we playing? Cuz i'm not playing polka in a spur of the moment of someone!" he said.

 

Ed looked at Will with suprise. That would make things a bit easier, having two people with experience.

"Well, I don't know what kind of music Will was involved in. But I was in a rock band. Sort of a mix of metal and your classic rock. Tai was the singer, and he could sing and scream. But he was also a dumbass. He got us to disband because of his attitude."

He looked over at Will. "What kind of music did you play? I'd like to know what kind of music we'd be capable of. And I wonder if Max can scream-o too.

 

"What about bands like Avenged Sevenfold or foo fighters? And of course we can't forgot Metallica & Nirvana!" Raven said. "I can play a few songs of those. Unless some of you don't favor loud music.
I'm fine with all music. Unless it's 'La Bamba' or something..."

 

After he was done helping his sister, Jessica move out of her ex's house, they took a little ride until Barry had to drive her back so she could take the Tata Indigo with her couch and the rest of her stuff back to their parents house where she was going to stay until she could afford another loft or studio.

Barry took his '64 El Camino back to the "Usual Place" where he joined the rest of the gang.

"I'm sorry, you guys." Barry said directing his apologies to Raven and Edward.

"I had to help my sister move out of Darren's- her ex's..." He whispered to anyone that hadn't heard of him.

 

Ed was suprised when Barry suddenly came back. "Hey Barry, good of ya to join us. We were just discussing what kind of music we'd play as a band. I can also put in some Japanese lyrics, seeing as how I can sing in japanese somewhat. Though my voice doesen't compare to Max's."
