i think it's yes and no, cause some people are just game freaks, like there used to games and find it easy. I mean twilight princess was hard for me on game cube and wii. i played on normal and it was hard, the new sproy game was easier than the other cause you could fly (and he was mostly grown.) Crisis Core was pretty hard too, so was Bioshock, I men maybe you guys are getting easy games.

It really depends on the game you get really.

It truly depends on the type of game it is. I say yes they are getting easier but it could be that I am growing up and have more experience.

The control schemes are improving and more features are being added, so gamers can usually find a strategy that works just great for them; thus an easier yet smoother playthrough. Final Fantasy XII, anyone? If you used Gambits properly, you wouldn't even have to lift a finger. It's like a "choose your difficulty," type of thing.

It's amazing to see how far we've come from the days when there were no save points and every time the dreaded seizure-inducing text of, "GAME OVER," popped up on the screen, you'd basically pull your hair out and start all over. =p

And like Cloud said, this generation is just getting better, especially with the young'ns playing Hannah Montana games and whatnot.

I was shocked when I tried the Elders Scrolls IV: Oblivion on easy mode settings, two damn hits and there three person lying death in front of me!

Usually I prefer games with the normal and ard settings, but I've gotta admit that since the old Nintendo platform there hasn't been much of "almost-impossible" games.

I have to agree that games are definitely getting easier but also boring. No creativity, no soul... just empty.
Some games I've played are hard in this era which is Ninja Gaiden 2. I would never dare play that game on hard mode lmao.

Back in the day games were challenging. But to this day it has lose its spark.

They are getting easier because look at te difficulty difference between Zelda Majora's Mask and Zelda Twilight Princess. Majora's Mask you had to think literally and most of the puzzles were more intricate than they seemed in the beginning. Yes, Ocarina of Time was easy but that was because they pretty much lead you through all the dungeons. Majora's Mask they throw you into it and give you very few items at the beginning and they scatter the heart peices more sparingly. Also they make you work for your weapon upgrades. Like the first sword you pay 100 rupees, the second you have to go and beat the dungeon, then go and win the Goron races, recieve the Gold dust, and get back to the smith before the end of the second day. The second shield you have to do the complicated trading sequence in the well with the gibdos but first to do that you need to have the Garo's mask to access the canyon, ice arrows to get to the other side of the river, restore the pond near the music house, and have the stone mask to get into the house to get to the man with the mask. While Ocarina of Time to get your weapon upgrade you beat three dungeons and play a song. For your other weapons to get them you talk to one person near the area the weapon is hidden and they give you a large hint usually saying exactly where to go. I say Twilight Princess is an Ocarina of Time remake with no ocarina and bigger weapons...

I think I stated my point.
And Shadow, Majora's Mask was harder than Ocarina of Time...
