Jesus Christ I've been away for a while. To jump back in only having read this page, I'm truly sorry for what has happened to you Memory, but you have to accept that people view things from a different angles and have different views on this depending upon their culture and/or psychology. Your perspective, although justified by anguish and suffering - is not therefore correct by default. People are entitled to do what they will, believe what they will and learn from their mistakes, if they feel they have made one.

Although I risk sounding overly harsh - I'm not trying to be - You should not force your beliefs onto others, no matter how justified you feel they may be. People have to decide for themselves and if they feel that you are in the wrong - so bet it, accept it and move on.

you don't win a debate, you win an argument. a debate is where no one can be 100% correct.

 

idk, u CAN win a debate. Evr heard of a debate club? were u have judges and they decide the winner.
But concerning these debate threads you'll never have a winner of the debate topic.

 

Actually, I have never heard of a debate club, you cant win a debate unless everyone in the world agree's with you, thus its no longer a debate.

Actually you can. The purpose of a debate is to sway your opponent to your side. So if .BB managed to convince everybody to be pro-choice, then yes, he'd have won.

Yeh, I look at the bigger picture. But even if you do win the debates ceases to exist, its only a debate when there are 2 opposing sides. If it were "won" it wouldn't be a debate anymore.

A debate is only a debate when there is something to debate about, if it were "won" it would just be a topic of discussion. makes perfect sense.

 

debates are meant to be won. A topic of discussion os meant to be "discussed". Why don't you get this? You just have them flip flopped.

 

A debate is a discussion, an argument is something that can be won, there similar but different
