A Lesson in Adaptation <Taboo Sho> Vs <Kairu>

As the gases filled the air, Lilith quickly held her breath and closed her eyes once more, continuing her focusing, despite the inability to see, she was able to block swing after swing from her opponent, though a few managed to hit her here and there as the girl seemingly ran circles around her. It took an immense amount of focus to utilize the boon of foresight for so long, though it most certainly served her well in this instance.

Waiting and blocking for a short while, Lilith took her opportunity to counter when a strike came from the front, pushing forward with her bisento hard against the incoming blade of the scythe with the intent to parry it and leave her opponent open for the follow up slicing blow with her own blade.

 

The knife bounced off Lilith harmlessly, as the others had, and she breathed slowly, watching and waiting for an attack that never came. Her opponent spoke, complimenting her, albeit with a bit of sarcasm. Then she made a comment about Jaxx, that Lilith couldn't help but chuckle at, "It's because I'm not alone... I think I'm starting to understand that a bit more. I'm not much of a fighter myself, but I'm not going to let that stop me from beating you and getting out of here alive!"

Focusing her powers into her right foot, she stomped the ground sending a shockwave outwards, hoping to knock her circling foe off balance, before following up with a whirlwind strike with her bisento.

 

The whirlwind created by Lilith's previous attack shattered the vial before it could reach her, spilling its contents harmlessly to the ground a good distance from Lilith herself. As her enemy approached, she used the momentum gained from the spinning of her weapon, as well as her utilizing her powers, to slam it hard into the ground. The resulting shaking of the earth around her would very likely knock her enemy off balance, which she'd then capitalize on with a tremor enhanced punch to the girl's chest.

Lilith said nothing in response, simply keeping her focus on the fight at hand.

 

Lilith certainly didn't expect her foe to respond to her attack with such nimbleness and grace, but she supposed that is what she got for underestimating an assassin. The girl managed to reach Lilith's face, and before she even had a chance to react, the gauntlet hand raked across her eye, cutting it badly, causing her to scream in pain. Focus! Focus! Don't let this get to you, you can still see with your foresight, just focus!!

Indeed, with her foresight, Lilith was able to respond to her opponent's next move, seeing her preparing what appeared to be a sweeping blow to her legs, Lilith quickly acted. She focused her powers into her foot and took a single step back, stomping it into the ground with enough force to send a tremor that shook the earth and weakened the soil around a ten foot radius and kicking up a cloud of dirt in it's wake. At the same time, Lilith grasped her bisento a quarter of the way down the handle and swung it backward around her hand in a saw blade motion. The blade arced high above her head, building momentum at blinding speed before sweeping downward and diving the blade into the ground. The mighty weapon sliced through the soil like butter past Lilith, kicking up more of the softened dust. At the same time, her bisento had come full circle, and as it reached her front, headed right for Tess. She used the power and momentum gained from bringing it around to bring it upwards, catching the scythe mid swing, hooking the blade and knocking the weapon out of it's deadly path. The blade of the bisento then continued it's ascent bringing more dust with it, with the intention of cleaving right through Tess.

 

Success! Her blade managed to intercept the scythe. However her opponent was clever enough to dodge even a sudden counter with grace. Lilith watched as the girl rose with the weapon, and landed firmly on her shoulder, the scythe flying off behind her. Before she had a chance to react however, the girl kicked her square in the jaw, before flipping away like a ninja and collapsing rather ungracefully a few feet away.

This whole getting hit in the face business was really getting old. Lilith groaned and adjusted her jaw, that actually stung a little. The attack didn't go entirely as planned, though she did manage to knock the scythe away from her foe, which gave her a distinct advantage that she quickly jumped on. Capitalizing on the fact that she was closer, and had a much larger reach, Lilith beat her opponent to the weapon and pulled it easily from the ground.

"You won't be needing THIS anymore!" She shouted with a smirk, stabbing her Bisento into the ground, before grasping the scythe with two hands and using all of her might to throw the weapon completely and utterly out of sight. She turned back to Tess and smiled, pulling her own weapon free and readying it once more. "Whoops, guess I don't know my own strength."
