For all you DragonForce fans (if any other than me), ZP "Zippy" Theart, ex lead singer, of DragonForce, is and will be returning with a new, and hopefully epic, metal project. ZP specifically stated, though information is small, that his ne band's material would "fucking hit [the listeners] in the face."

The full (but small) article is here, along with a short youtube video

Hopefully this'll prove better than DragonForce was. They were really easy to get into, but it was unbearably hard to get totally into them when all their songs seemed to spring from the same conceptual/thematic pool.

I disagree. I can tell the difference than all Dragonforce saongs, know almost all the lyrics, as well as the rythem of each one. It's not hard to tell and they're a great band no matter how you look at it

That doesn't really refute what I said though. It doesn't change that every song is pretty much drawn from the same area of inspiration. I'm not saying that they're no good or something. I'm sure that even you can see that al of their songs share a VERY similar conceptual backdrop. All I'm saying is that I've never been able to get totally interested in them because, as different as their songs can be from each other (and trust me, I've listened enough to see that even musically, there are striking similarities), there's still that similarity in the story, so to speak, that makes it particularly difficult to keep listening.

Power metal bands everywhere can learn a lot from the Scandinavians.... and Eastern Europe for that matter.
