Xehanort was not in Kingdom Hearts 1

    I just noticed this. Xehanort was never mentioned at all in Kingdom Hearts 1. And suddenly, he is the main antagonist. Why is this?

    He was there as a Heartless under a different name. Why they never mentioned it is beyond me...

    But, I think they didn't mention it because they wanted us to wonder about all of it, I guess.

    Tetsuya Nomura didn't know if there was going to be a sequel to Kingdom Hearts, so he just added onto the story.

    And I'm pretty sure Xehanort wasn't mentioned till Kingdom Hearts 2.

    He wasn't. Before we just thought it was a simple ruler gone mad story. Ansem not being Ansem is probably one of the few true retcons.
