Who is Right? Georgia or Russia

Okay. For the past week, Russian and Georgian forces have been battling it out in South Ossetia and Abkhazia provinces. Russia, my country, is invading bacuse many South Ossetians and Abkhazis are Russian, and Georgia tried to capture their captials to reeunite the country. Georgia is defending itself because Russia "is using war crimes" and bombing civilians.

    Which is right?

    I would say neither.

Who is 'more' right? Probably Russia...but they could adopt a much more diplomatic approach.

Thats odd, because most governments are adopting a more anti-Russian stance of this invasion. My guess is because of the oil pipeline in Georgia and the Gerorgian troops in Iraq.

Well yeah, most countries follow the US's example. The US is anti-Russia because they assume Russia only wants Georgia's oil...that is, they're being hypocritical.

I can see it now: Russia + China => Oil.

The US, distracted by the elections going on in America, the Olympics, and by wars in other countries, won't be able to fight effectively...

So...D-R-A-F-T spells Draft! They're going to start drafting...which means, we could be looking at the next World War.

The Draft? Pah! We have had a draft longer then they have!

But, if the US does send troops to help Georgia, then they would have to deal with the problems of draftees; mainly inexperiance, lack of motivation.

    Plus, why would we need the oil? We produce the most in the world! Now this deals with another subject;

    World War 3.
My guess is Europe would remain nuetral, because Russia provides so much oil to them. And, the U.S. wouldnt steam roll like Iraq; Russia is a well trained army on par with the United States in many aspects. Plus, Russia has the most nuclear weapons in the world so....

Haha, this isn't a 'russia is great and will pwn all the n00bs' topic...No one should doubt Russia's army is a competent one. However, having the most nuclear weapons doesn't intimidate other countries, particularly those who also have nuclear weapons.

6 draftees can take on one fully-trained soldier, so that's what will wind up happening: mass drafts (of world war proportions). I can almost guarantee China will side with Russia as they are old buddies. Many places in Europe despise China, so they'll join against China, not against Russia.

    Hmm... a possible timeline:

August 12, 2008: U.S. troops land in Georgia to help repulse Russian invasion. Russia declares war on the U.S.

August 13, 2008: China joins with Russia; the Olympic village is taken over by Chinese troops that same day. Germany, France, Italy and Great Britain declare war on the Russo-Chinese alliance.

August 14, 2008: Under poilitical pressure from Russia, Ukraine, Belorus, and the Baltic States join with Russia and China. Poland declares war on Russia.

August 15, 2008: Draft is reeinstated in America. Serbia, Bulgaria and Hungary invade their neighbors and join with Russia.

    November 1, 2008:

What is the situation by then?

Poland would not declare war on Russia...it's like you're just throwing darts at a world map. Haha.

Apparently, Bush is pretty much betraying Georgia anyway...seems like he won't risk his own political hide to actually send troops to fight. Instead, he's playing 'almighty ruler of the world' and pointing fingers demanding a ceasefire...and little more.

    Kyuu your worst nightmare.

Umm... I dunno. But I've never liked Russia... The reason is Finland's and Russia's past...

Well, honestly, is either side going to be right?
I mean, we're allies with Georgia, but who's to say they're right.

And what if Georgia did something we don't know about, and they pretty much deserved this?

Honestly, there's no good or bad side to conflict. People suffer on both sides, and each side see's their's as the good side. So no matter where you look, no one's right.

I personally think that the main reason why America is siding with Georgia is because of what could happen. Georgia used to be part of the Soviet Union. If Russia is going after land they once had as the Soviet Union, what would prevent them from conquering all of the countries that were part of the Soviet Union? Basically, I think that Americans are afraid of the Soviet Union being reformed and another Cold War situation happening again.

Doesn't Saudia Arabia produce the most?
