Alchemy is the scientific art of breaking things down into their base elements. While attempting to make gold from lead is one such experiement, failed, many other uses for alchemy exist. Alchemy is goverened by four laws,

    1. The object created must come from something with similar compounds (Steel deriving from Iron, A box of wood coming from a tree.)

    2. The object created must come from something with the same mass, (Stick into quarter staff. Some exceptions exist such as sand into glass)

    3. In the event an object does not meet number 2 the materials must be put under the same processes as happen naturally when creating the object normally. (Sand being superheated into glass)

    4. Creating an object requires the materials, and the energy used to create the object. (Heat going into sand to make the glass)

Failure to obey these rules can either make the alchemy not happen, or provide and explosion proportional to the extra energy as it is released. In short Alchemy is simply all about checks and balances.

In order for a student to be recognized as a full alchemist he/she must travel and study with a senior alchemist. And that is how our story begins.

    Set in the middle ages.

    Template:

    Name:
Age: (Students are between 15 and 18)
History: (Give at least 2 paragraphs)
Skills: (What can you do now? Students can only specialize in 2 different things)
Fighting techniques: (How do you fight when the need arises?)
    Description/Picture:
Personality: (What kind of personality does your character have? Must contain a flaw.)

Before we start I will be going over some basic stuff about profiles.

Name: Reshda Melor (Resh for short)
    Age: 34
History: Reshda as a student was quite the trouble maker so he understands a young persons need to get out and do things. He started out simple, working on a farm just like almost every other peasant, until he saw a traveling alchemist performing his work for the villagers. He was instantly hooked.

After attending the alchemists university he joined up with his traveling alchemist and moved about the country for almost seven years learning his art. Eventually he became a full alchemist so he continued back and forth across the country helping those who required it, and setting up small shops in the various villages were he could create medicines and tools. He has trained several students during his time, and he plans to train several more before he is done.

Skills: Reshda is a skilled full alchemist with some specialties. He is quite good at medicines of all kinds, and he is also good at metal crafting. He can also do all the other aspects of alchemy but these two have always been his passions.

Fighting techniques: Reshda tends to avoid fights as a rule. That said he is no slouch with a sword, and he always keeps a sword on his person. Fighting from horse back with a spear is another thing he is good at, but he feels more at home on the ground. His weapon is a broad sword that extends to about two feet, with a large grip. The sword is as slender as a broad sword can be, and has a light heft to it. As it was made from alchemy the weapon is stronger than most others, and can be easily repaired with alchemy.

    Description:

Instead of the army uniform he wears a brown cloak over his shirt and trousers. The cloak has a alchemic circle on the outside. His hair is also red.
Personality: A wise man for one in his 30's, he tends to be a bit to helpful. Allow me to elaborate. Say we got a farmer who wants a little bit of help weeding his garden. Reshda would do a lot more including making a new fence, fixing barns, repairing roofs, and other such things. He tends to annoy but when he gets serious about something this trait makes him quite reliable. Another problem is that he tends to forget some things crucial to his alchemic creations, and so he tends to send his students out to get them.

    Yours should be the following,
    Young
Prone to mistakes or some other demeaning quality.
Determined is fine if you want it for a redeeming quality.
If it does not have some kind of flaw it is a mary sue character, which is bad.

  2. Really? A school based RP... WHY?

    Name: Nayru
    Age:15
    History:I'm not good with these...
    Skills: Swordwielding, magic
Fighting techniques: Magic? Basic fighting skills
    Description/Picture:

Personality: Over exertive she puts to much effort into even the simplest tasks.

You have several problems with that.

1, you failed to follow all of the stuff you had to fill out
2, you essentially copied my character but made him a girl and younger instead.

Now making a history is actually not all that hard. Let the character form in your mind and speak to you. Don't let it be forced but just let the character talk. All writers have to learn that simple technique. Essentially what happened to your character while she was growing up, how she came to find alchemy and decide to join it. Essentially you are building her up.

Copying my personality, absolute no no. I am the over working character. 2 of a kind will only cause trouble so it has to be different. I'm sure you can come up with something.

I hope you undersand that bat wings are a no no. Also she can't possibly be wearing that on a long journey hiking along the road. That would cause more trouble.

Also your character sure doesn't look like a sword wielder. Try to elaborate on more you can do so you can impose some limits on yourself roleplaying wise. Knowing were you stand is the best way to ensure you don't powerplay/god mod.

  4. NOOO I actually didn't even read your character profile...

Is that true? You should still pick something else. You oughta read profiles before you post anything.
