Plot

I'm sure you've been told stories about mythical creatures before. Many people dont believe in magic because it is hidden well from the human race because of their corrupt ways and the fact that it's more likely for a human to use magic for ill purposes than any other race. It's because of that that a more suttle form of magic was given to the human race called Love. The rest of magic was given to an entirely different race. One that you have heard of in only your most distant of childhood fantasies and one that you will be suprised to learn this story is about. Mer-People.
The underwater city of Acquanetta was submerged under the ocean in ancient times as the only way for them to escape an enemy of theirs called Mayans. At first they used ancient magics and macinary to stay alive underwater. But after hundreds of years, they adapted to living under the water. They avoided the human race for centuries, still afraid that if they were to ever come up above the water that they would be attacked by the Mayans. That fear eventually turned into a fear of the entire human race descovering their exsistance. The king of the underwater world is a man known by Posidan and he is the one merperson who is most paranoyed of the above sea world. Him and his twin sister, Helena, when they were children, use to explore the ocean as far as they could go. And eventually their explorations took them above water. They used magic to transform themselves and gain legs and above water lungs and they walked above water. Helena loved what she saw. She saw wars, she saw passion, open space, and power. She saw something she could control. Posidon however saw things differently. What he saw in the human world was something to be avoided. He came to know hate and he witnessed war, destruction, lies, gossiping, greedy people that would be impossible to live with. Worst of all, he saw a race of people who constantly sought power. Neither sibling recognised the one bit of magic that was given to the human world, they didn't know it because there is no such thing as Love under the ocean. Everyone knows that. There is curtosy, there is care, but true love is unknown and so it was not noticed within the two days the siblings spent lost in the human world.
The two siblings argued about the human race, Helena wanted to take it over. Posidon disagreed, he believed it was a world that should be avoided at all costs. He made his sister promise that she would never return to the human world again and she reluctantly agreed. Fifteen years later, Posidon was crowned king of Acquanetta. Enraged by the fact that she was not chosen, Helena actually tried to kill her own brother. After the assasination attempt failed, Helena was banished from the kingdom and sent into a space of ocean near the South Pole where she lived in a Prison of Ice. No one was to ever go out to see Helena for Helena became to witch of the seas, using anyone and anything that came in contact with her to try to free her from her dreadful castle of the ice.
It's been nearly 50 years since Helena was banished. Posidon still remains the King of the ocean and he has had two daughters before his wife passed away, killed by a great white by accident. The eldest of his two children is a very curious young mermaid named Talise. Her curiosity often gets her into a lot of trouble and gets her into a lot of arguments with her father. She is very much similar in appearence to Helena though people find this a marvel in the young lady instead of a curse or omen of any sort. Talise is creative and beautiful, adventurous, and kind. She has always been the more outspoken and curious of the two. The second daughter (son if needed) of Posidon is less oustspoken than Talise but often follows her on her crazy expiditions to make sure she doesn't get herself killed. Often because of the second child's kind and innocent nature, they get into a lot less trouble than Talise for things. One day while the two sisters were wandering the ocean instead of attending school like they were supposed to be doing they wandered straight into the forbidden area of the south where Helela waited for them. As soon as the two sisters, driven by curiosity and the will for adventure, got too close to the ice prison, Helena managed to lead them right inside of the Ice Castle. She tricked the two young royals into making a terrible deal. Not knowing who they were talking to, they got into an argument with the witch about a magic that lived in the human world. One that was called "True Love".
This was a strong subject for Talise because she was soon to be married by arrangement against her will because of the will of her father. Talise was a believer that there must be something like this 'love' that Helena was describing that must be true and if there was it would save her from her arranged marrege. The younger of the two siblings tried to talk Talise out of it but it was too late. Talise made a promise to the old witch that she could go to the human world and prove that love exsists but she would need help of the witches magic to help her survive above water. Helena agreed and let the two siblings know that if she were to make this deal then she would require payment and destracted the two siblings with magic and promises of a better future so they would not ask what the payment would be.... until Talise sighed the contract and it was too late.
Helena alarmed the two sibligns as she told them what Talise had agreed to. If she could not prove to Helena that love exsists in a world full of war by the time the sun sets on the sea on the third month after this day, then Talise and her sibling would be her slaves for eternity, and that both worlds above and below the water would belong to her as well. She then magically binded the younger sibling to the Ice, making them unable to leave until Talise returned to the water wether she was successful in her journy or not. Until the three months were over, the younger sibling would be stuck in the castle with the witch and her son and servants. She then took Talise to the surface of the water and transformed her into a human. She then left Talise, treading water in the middle of the freezing ocean with no way of keeping herself above water in the middle of a storm. Talise had never had to swim using human legs before especially not with the currents of the wind. She nearly died that night until she was rescued by a fishing boat and taken to shore in a land called Topell. From this moment, she has three months to prove that love exsists. In the meantime, her younger sibling will try anything to escape the Ice Castle and find a way to help Talise or warn the Kingdom of Helenas trickery.
This RP has two stories, one above and one below. The first story is above the water with Talise and her adventure in a whole strange new world as she searches to prove that love exsists to save both of the worlds before its too late.
The second is the story of the younger sibling of Talise as they try to escape Helena, help their sister, kill Helena, and warn Posidon of the danger before it's too late.

*Authors Note- This RP is branched off of the Disney Movie Little Mermaid obviously. lol I was watching it with some kids I was babysitting over the weekend and then seeing as I'm in a strange mood right now decided to write an RP along those lines lol besides since when have we ever had an underwater RP. lol Those of you who are cool enough to try something different, welcome to Acquanetta.

Bio:
Talise grew up as the eldist daughter of the King of the Ocean but in spite of that she is not nessesarily a princess. You are not considered a prince or princess by law in Acquanetta until you are chosen to be the heir to the throne. Though Talise and her younger sibling both have all of the advantages of royalty and are considered so they do not have any official titles besides their names. This was a way come up with for the members of the kingdom to remain equal. Though Talise and her bro/sis grew up still with the advantages of being royal. Talise inherited a special power from her father, being the first born she is the most likely to take the throne after her father passes away. Because of that she was born with a mark across her collarbone *seen in her pic* which signifies her nobility and also means that she has partial control over the seas and the magic connected to them. Which is why Helena tricked her into signing the contract which would give that power to her and with that enhancing her own power, Helena could control the seas and the world above with an iron fist.
Talise has a wild curiosity that she inherited from her father and aunt. That curiosity caused her to constantly explore the seas and into places where she wasn't supposed to be including the above world. She has even collected a few items from the human world which she finds facinating. There are only three items in her collection including a weird looking silver object with four points at the end, a box that sings when you open it above water, and a pair of glass circles that were held together by a wire and make the world look funny if you look through them. Because of this collecting and adventuring to forbidden grounds her father and she are constantly arguing about it. He even once had the nerve to call her Helena by accident and then he sent her to her room and wouldn't talk to her for days. Posidon never told either of his children about Helena but after he accidently called Talise by that name it got her curious so she asked around town and broke into the castles old archives at late hours and she eventually learned about the woman Helena and she set out to find her just out of the will to meet her father's sister and her younger sibling tagged along after Talise annoyed her about it for about an hour. When they reached the Ice Castle, Talise didn't realize her aunts trickery until it was too late. The merwoman tricked her into signing a contract by telling them the story of an ancient magic posessed by a mortal world called True Love which binds people together for eternity and makes their destinies entertwined almost making them one heart within two people. Talise was amazed by such a power and she became infatuated with learning more of it, especially if it could save her from marrying a merman who her father had arranged her to marry since she was a child who was about as deep as a puddle in the sahara. But then the merwoman began to deny that it exsisted, that it was only a human folk story to make humans feel better about their lives and about the fact that the dry land was magicless. Talise became deturmined to prove her wrong and she was tricked. That night she signed away the kingdom, her freedom, and the freedom of her family. Now she has three months to prove that 'True Love' exsists and she has been placed in a world that she doesn't know the first thing about to search for something she has no idea how to identify and shes only got three months to do it before the contract is final and she loses her freedom, her kingdom, and the magic that has been held in her family since the beginning of time that is the key to controlling every race in exsistance.

Personality:
Talise is beautiful, outgoing, kind, caring, and a bit naive. She has no idea how to live in the human world so she is bound to make a few mistakes about how to fit in socially for a little while at least. She is very curious which leads her into a lot of troubled situations like the one she's in now. She has no idea what she's gotten herself into by searching to prove true love.

Nope. lol Just becaue the story is branched off of that movie doesn't mean it is lol. Actually I think its a bit more closely related to Aquamarine but then that was based on the same idea aswell. All profiles so far look ok and are accepted except Honor Guard I'm not sure how yours connects to the plot.

@ HikariYaoi2625 please be sure to read the plot more carefully. You did suprisingly well for someone who is new to all of this and for that I'm impressed but you got a few of the details from the RP wrong for example Helena is Talise and Nereus's aunt and she is also the sea witch who tricked Talise into making the deal that put Nereus into the ice.
