Ok so were going to start this RP with Marcus and Melody in there new home. Quite some time has past since the incident happened. And we will find out the rest as we go through the RP =]

"Welcome home my lord" "Thank you Tinaki" Marcus said as he nodded to his personal bodyguard. Marcus had been out organising an army, that he and his sister would lead to take revenge on the light.

"Has our supper been prepared Tinaki?" Marcus asked looking over some ranking lists he had been given just that day. "Yes my lord it is ready and waiting" Tinaki answered while removing his masters armour. "And were is Melody?" Marcus asked putting down the papers. "Im uncertain my lord". " I am sure she will meet us for supper" Marcus said as he headed for the dinning area.

Trying again to master the spell at hand, Melody scanned through the book by her knees as she knelt on the roof, where no one bothered her. She nodded after a moment and tried to focus her thoughts and her energy on the moth in her hand she watched as the wings of the tiny creature began to change from their dull grey color to a very vibrant red. She allowed the spell to continue on it's own as the moth increased double in size. It wasn't anything too complicated, just a simple transformation spell but for some reason Melody had been working at it for days and couldn't get it right. Now was her closest. The color was a bit off from what she was trying to accomplish but other than that she came pretty close. With a dissatisfied glare she let the insect go, allowing the spell to ware off as it flew away. By the time it reached the edge of the next nearby building it was back to it's original shape.
Melody sighed, trying to ignore the fact that she was bored out of her mind as she sat on the edge of the roof, letting her feet dangle in the air benieth her as she watched the people on the dark streets walking to and fro to their houses as it got darker. It was getting late, by now most everyone was getting ready to return to their homes... well at least the ones she cared about. She smiled a little as she saw, almost right on cue, her brother and his very small anterague*SP?* enter her vision far into the distance. Though she could see them she was sure they were still quite a distance away. She stood up, not bothering really to dust off her dress as she stood up on her toes to get a better view. As she suspected it would still probably be a while before he would get here, despite the fact that she missed him she would just have to be patient. She felt a little childish as she lay back down on the roof, not wanting to go back downstairs. Last thing she wanted to do was run downstairs and get caught up in news of whats going on in the Light World like what usually happened when Marcus wasn't home and she was. Most of the time she was out on the feild with him, but as the time for their attack drew closer Melody needed to stay home and hold down the fort pretty much. She made herself busy for most of the days but for the last few hours today everything seemed to be taking care of it'self both in the community and within the castle itself.
She pushed a lose strand of hair out of her face as she found herself thinking the series of phrases for the spell she had been practicing over and over in her head.
"Melody!" she heard someone call from somewhere in the building. It was faint but she could still hear it so probably really close or directly under her on the top floor. "Your highness where are you." She recognised the voice as the voice of her assistant, Isabella. A very kindly woman not that much older than Marcus Melody would guess but for some reason Melody had trouble getting along with her. She was so stoney all the time. Melody stood up just as Isabella's face popped through the window that Melody had climbed through to get up here. "Oh, there you are." Isabella said as she looked up as Melody looked down at her and asked "What is it Isabella is everything alright?"
Her assistant nodded "Your brother has returned home. You told us to-"
Melody nodded as she climbed back in through the window "-Tell me when he arrives. I remember. Thank you Isabella. Do you mind telling me if you know where he is?" she said as she at least attempted to dust off her dress. White dust did have a bad habit of showing up so well on a black skirt.
"He returned only a few moments ago. They have been out all day I'm sure they are hungry." Isabella pointed out as she followed Melody who was already halfway to the door.
Melody nodded "I thought as much. So if we just go down to the dining hall we should run into them then."
Her assistant nodded, holding her tongue about the fact that Melody's appearence made it rather obvious she had been outdoors all days as well and that her spellbook was hanging out of her waistband. This was normal for Melody on most days. She didn't ever let herself get too messed up but she wasn't perfect either. No one ever made much complaint about it.
She pulled the ribbon out of her hair, letting it hang losely around her sholders as she put her book down on the dresser and walked toward the door

Marcus had made his way to the dining area. As he arrived he removed his sword from his belt and placed it on a stand that he had carved himself and placed under the window were the rays of the moon bounced of the shimmering blue blade giving it a somewhat beautiful appearance. Marcus spent several moments admiring the blade. He had retrieved it from his fathers dying side the day that they had been attacked.

He knew the blade should be associated with respect for his diciest father, but Marcus could only associate the blade with a promise he had made to himself and his father. The promise to protect his sister no matter what. After Marcus and Melody had first escaped, Marcus had become a little eccentric, not trusting anyone to care for his sister but himself. When Marcus and Melody were first found his fathers men tried to separate them for there own safety. I say tried because when Marcus realized what they were trying to do he knocked out his guard and charged at the men surrounding his sister. Before any of them could react Marcus had knocked two of the guards to the ground and was now fighting back to back with his sister. With each fluid movement that Marcus and Melody made another guard was sent flying to the ground or knock unconscious. As the guards got more and more agitated they began fighting back. Some drew weapons. A flashback of what had happened not days earlier flash through Marcus's mind. It was the exact same situation, only this time there father would not brake through a door and sacrifice himself to save them.

Marcus was suddenly brought back to reality when he heard a door behind him open. Marcus turned to see a group of works walk in, bow to him and prepare the table. Over all the noise Marcus could hear the faint sound of footsteps approaching. Marcus smiled as he recognized the impatient and excited but as always graceful footsteps.

Melody could hear voices in the dining hall as she got to the bottom stair and saw the door down the hallway. She smiled a little, recognising his voice and the sound of him putting his sword on it's stand like he always did.
Isabella had gotten to the door before Melody and opened it for her. Melody nodded to her gratefuly and then walked into the dining hall and saw her brother across the room. She could see his silhouette shrowded by the moonlight through the window behind him.
Melody had crossed the space between them at a rather quick pace, her hair looked more silver than blue as the moonlight struck it. "You're late." she said with a bright smile.

"My apologies" Marcus said returning his sisters smile. "I'll try not to let it happen again" he finished with a joking look in his eyes.

Marcus then gave his sister a hug. The servants who were preparing the table and the supper gave Marcus that could only be described as filthy. In the dark realm showing any sign of affection was seen as a sign of weakness. Marcus was secure enough to know that he was stronger than any dark being alive save it be his sister.

"I see you have been practising again today" Marcus said putting Melody an arms length away and noticing the dust that had transferred from Melody's clothes to his.

Melody smiled a bit, she ignored the servants who had given her and Marcus an odd look. She was use to the customs having grown up around them but she also knew none would dare doubt Marcus's or Melody's power let alone make any action.
"Is it so suprising?" she said as she made a slight attempt to brush the dust off of her clothes again "Things pretty much take care of themselves around here as everyone is getting more and more worried about..." she stopped herself from finishing that sentence, deciding to not bring up affairs about the war until later. "Anyway if it weren't for practise I would find myself insane with boredom without you here and then you would be on your own." she said jokingly. "Anyway you've been out all day you must be hungry. Save the details about your day until after I know you aren't famished."
She said it as the servants finished setting the table and left except of course Isabella who wouldn't leave Melody's side ever unless directly ordered to as was her 'job' she clamed. Though Melody had always been curious if it wasn't just an excuse so that she wouldn't know Isabella was just following her around to keep her out of trouble.
Today she didn't even seem to notice her assistant there though. Isabella stood some distance away. But as she could tell the two siblings obviously wanted to be alone, she silently and unnoticably excused herself from the room.
Melody heard her exit but she didn't make any actions about it. She was glad Isabella had left for the moment.

Marcus and Melody sat at the table together and as always Marcus waited for Melody to serve herself before he took up his plate. After Melody had served herself and sat down Marcus served himself a generious helping.
Sitting down he looked at Melody, the two smiled at each other and then began eating.

    * * * * * * * *

Dinner went by without a hitch. Marcus told Melody of the problem he was having organising the soliders into ranks as some of the races 'disagreed' with each other. Melody then told him of how she spent most of the day on the roof practising. Marcus laughed " I guess I have things pretty organised" he said as the servants returned to clean the table.

There were sudden footstepts that could be heard approching from the hallway. Two sets Marcus deducted. "I wonder whats happening now" Marcus said to Melody with joke still in his voice.

"Sire?!" The two guards said in unison as the charged in the doorway. "Sire they are attacking?" The bigger guard said to him catching his breath. Marcus's face suddenly grew serious.

"Who is attacking!?" He demanded as he took no hesitation in getting his sword and placing it on his belt.

"The light sire, they attacked without warning"

"Im sorry Melody, I must handle this, wait in the house for my return" Marcus said as he hugged her and began to head for the door.

Marcus could see the displeasure in his sisters face and knew that if he stayed longer he would end up giving into one of her wishes.

"How many of them?" Marcus asked as they were outside the hearing of the rest of the household.

"There seems to be a army of them sire" The older guard said.

"They shall pay for disruping my time with Melody" Marcus said

Her voice came sort of out of the blue next to Marcus. "They didn't. They just made it more exciting is all." she was saying.
After Marcus had left, Melody had quickly gone to her room and Isabella had helped her change into her armor and pull her hair back quickly. She now stood next to Marcus, attatching her sword to her belt around her waist.
She looked at Marcus, unsure what his reaction would be but she was ready to argue her case if needed though she hated arguing with him. She wasn't about to let him go into battle without her.

The guards that were with Marcus jumped when Meldoy suddenly appeared beside him. Marcus knew that his sister would not stand aside while he went off to fight.

Marcus was about to protest when he saw the look on his sisters face. It was the look that said, you may have valid points but I don't care and am coming with you look. Or at least thats how Marcus saw it.

"Very well" Marcus said with a sigh, "Just be careful out there"

"Sire the town is up ahead" The gurad informed him as they approched a cliff of sorts that over looked the town that Marcus had been working in earlier that day.

"They should know better than to attack us in our own country" a soilder snarled as he looked down on the attacking forces.

"That didn't stop them all those years ago, did it" Marcus said cassually. "Ill see you down there Melody, the rest of you stand by unless instruced to do otherwise. We can't affored any casualties if we have any hope of claiming revenge on the light."

And with that he was gone. Marcus had made a general caculation of how many soliders there were. He counted over thirty normal class soilders and two heros. Deciding it would be eaiser to clear out the soilders before attacking the high ranking heros Marcus made his way to the town center. When he arrived he saw sevral towns people lying in pools of blood.

"Disgusting creatures" Marcus said as he looked at the humans handy work. Just then Marcus heard a small yelp, and the sound of laughing soilders. Marcus walked into a house thats door had been broken down. There he saw two Werewolfs dead. When he entered the next room in the far coner there was a group of soilders standing in a semi circul pinning something into the corner.

"Look at it squirm!" One of the soilders burst out in a load voice. Marcus realized it was the young werewolf cub.

"Lets be rid of it before it can grow to full size and reek havic upon our nations" another soilders said raising his blade high into the air. Marcus had his blade in hand within a second.

"Your kind disgust me" Marcus said as he pulled his blade out of the soilder. The soilders blade fell from his hands hitting the floor with a clang. Before the other soilders had a chance to react Marcus had already returned his blade to his belt. Marcus gave the wolf cub a reassuring pet, head towards the mountins, the villigers are there" He said heading out again.

"Five down, Twenty seven to go"

Melody made a much different approach to the scene than Marcus had. She until she saw Marcus exit from the house he had entered followed by the orphaned cub. She could tell by the look on Marcus's face the general idea of what he had seen and she made a face "Thats horrible." she said as she looked down.
She then unfolded her wings and took to the sky. "I'm sure Marcus will get my thinking. I start high and cover him from above. That way he doesn't get ambushed by archurers." she thought to herself as she landed on top of a barn a few blocks away from the building Marcus had saved the wolf cub in.

She paused as her feet touched the tile roof, listening for danger as she took cautious graceful steps across the edge. She was light enough that she made no sounds against the aging and unsteady rooftop. It made no protest to her weight at all as she reached the edge and could see through the window of the house next to her the faint glimmer of silver in the moonlight next to a hole in the wall. The soldier wearing the armor had his sights on Marcus.

Melody was confused, the soldier made no movements. He didn't have any sort of projectile weapon. He just watched unmoving as her brother walked closer to the building. Her eyes traced careful across the scene again and surveyed the Soldier watching her brother. She saw his hand in the air and she followed his pointing finger to see a different soldier across the street on a different rooftop. Easily to be seen by Melody but perfectly invisible to Marcus. He was laying on his stomach on the edge of the building his bow out and an arrow aimed straight for Marcus. She glared, the soldier in the neighboring building from her was signaling the one with the arrow. Once Marcus stepped close enough, he would signal for the other soldier to fire.

Melody couldn't warn Marcus without giving away her position so instead she pulled out her own bow but she was too late to string her bow before the leading soldier gave his signal and the armed one fired.

Melody quickly changed her tactic and changed her aim from the soldier to her own brother. She fired the arrow, her arrow sped past Marcus's ear with a loud whistle and hit the apposing arrow, piercing through its simple wood and pinning it to the wall.

"Whew... that was close." Melody whispered to herself as both soldiers straightened up and the one that had been signaling the attack averted his gaze straight at Melody.

Melody strung her bow again as the soldier ran to the window, to her suprise he had a knife in his hand that she hadn't seen him pull out.

He jumped, with a bit more effort than Melody had seen in other soldiers, through the open window onto the same rooftop that Melody was standing. He advanced on her with the knife raised.

Melody dropped her bow and reached for her sword. The soldier was quicker than he looked though, slashing the knife at her heart.

Melody took quick action, dropping to her knees to avoid the attack, it fell short of it's target, glancing off of her sholder plate instead of piercing her heart. Menwhile she saw, from the corner of her eye, the other soldier load his bow and take a shot in her direction. She wasn't sure where Marcus had gone but she couldn't see him.

Having to make her actions quickly, Melody picked up the arrow she had dropped next to her bow and jabbed into her attacker's leg. The man made a startled sound and reached down to take the arrow but as Melody's hand was closer her grabbed that instead in attempt to pull her up.

Melody had anticipated this move and as he yanked her hand up, Melody had her sword in hand and she angled it up, using his strength agaisnt him in combined with her own to push her sword through his heavy armor and into his chest.

Melody made no sound as she heard the arrow from the other attacker whistle through the air toward her.

Marcus was taken by surprise when his sisters arrow flew inches away from head. He was greatful for it when he saw it pirce another arrow that was flying towards him that if it had hit him may have been fatal.
After the arrow had missed him guards filed out into the street surronding Marcus. "Hmph, there are more of you than I estimated. Although i suppose you would need an army of this size if your stupid enough to attack the Prince of Darkness" Marcus said readying his blade.

    "Come, If your brave enough"

Agitated by Marcus's taunt a big soilder charged towards him, spear aimed directly at his heart. Marcus simply spun on his foot and sidesteped the spear slahing at the soilders stomach as he ran past him. The soilder caught his footing.

"Hahahaha" The soilder began laughing. "You missed!!" He taunted.

"Did I?" Marcus asked in a mocking tone. Blood suddenly spurted from the soilders chest. Marcus's sword had cut cleanly through his armour and cleanly cut through his heart. The soilder suddenly collapsed. "Anyone else care to try?" Marcus said with coldness in his eyes.

Marcus never enjoyed nor saw reason for killing. And although he still doesn't enjoy it, he now has a reason. And that reason being partilly revenge for his murdered parents. But mainly so his sister could live in a world of peace and never fear for her life.

A soilder seeing that marcus was distracted decided it would be the best time to attack. He ran at Marcus as another soilder ran at him from the back. They got so close to him that they thought they had him. Spears aimed at him running full speed. Marcus once again side stepped, this time letting the soilders hit each other with there own weapons. The soilders fell from the impact of the blows.

"My apologies" Marcus said looking at the guard standing in front of him. "My mind wandered off"

"Attack!!" Another soilder shouted as he drew his sword and rose it high in the air. Marcus heard the sudden twang of a bow and the clean sailing of an arrow through the air. Looking up he saw the arrow heading for a roof top.

"Melody!" Marcus said as he saw his sister on the roof with her sword stuck through a mans chest. Marcus ran towards a soilder who was taken by surprise at his sudden movement. The soilder swung at him. Marcus easily dodged the attack by ducking under it. He stood up litereally an inch from the man's face. "You don't mind do you?" Marcus said with mock in his voice. Without waiting for an answer Marcus grabbed the man by the neck with his hand, spun around once gaining momentem and threw the man into the arrows path. If the arrow hadn't killed the man the fall certainly would.

"I grow tired of this" Marcus said to himself, "Come at me now!, All at once" He said raising his voice. "Its the only way you will ever stand even a minesquel of a chance against me"

The soilders took his advice and charged him as one.

After a failed attempt at pulling her sword back out of the man's armor Melody just let go of its handle and turned around to the speeding arrow, thankfully on time to see Marcus had taken care of the arrow. She saw the group attack him at once.
Her first automatic responce was to be worried about him and she reached back to get her sword. She pulled it up and ran to the edge of the roof to jump off and help him, putting her sword away in it's strap across her back as she ran.

She was cut short, though, by a hand that grabbed her hair from behind and pulled her back. 'stupid hair' she thought irritably as she was thrown off balance and fell. She looked up to see her attacker and four companions. She couldn't see their faces and that just irritated her even more.

Her original attacker suddenly raised his sword to take her life then but Melody was quicker than they had bet. In one quick fluid motion, Melody kicked his feet out from under him. He, and his sword, fell to the right where he lost control of the sword and it fell toward the nearest companion to him. The other soldier attempted to dodge the blade but Melody used a wind spell to slightly push the man and the blade together, not exactly forcing but giving the push needed to make sure that the sword came in contact with the man's chest. He screamed and fell and Melody used another quick spell to end his life painlessly. She knew she couldn't use magic for the entire fight but she wasn't about to let her enemy suffer. It was one thing to kill for war, and another thing entirely to torture for revenge.

She then rolled out of the way as the man she had tripped fell nearly on top of her. She stood up with the same motion she had used to roll and used her sword to kill him as well. Now it was her against three. She sighed, 'you would think these people would take a hint that they are out matched.' she thought to herself sarcasticly as she shot a quick glance at Marcus. He was doing well as far as she could tell.

Marcus watched as his sister was grabed by the hair and attack, and then how she killed two of the guards. "Fillthy humans!" Marcus said "No honor!". Hearing a sudden yell Marcus turned just in time to see an sword flying towards his head. "Pfft" Macus said as he effortlessly lifted his sword to block his attacker.

There was a sudden shap pain running through the mid section Marcus's body. Marcus look at his side and saw that the tip of a javalin had pirced just under his ribs. Looking at the attcker Marcus saw a soilder wearing all black. "You weren't there before!?" Marucs said as he turned his body, forcing the javalin out and Marcus ignoring the soilder with the sword turned to face the new arrival.

There was another jolt of pain in Marcus's body. This time an arrow hit him in the shoulder. Marcus turned to see another man dressed in all black. It may have been wise to wear my entire armour Marcus thought to himself as he pulled the arrow from his shoulder. "These guys seem to be coming out of thin air" Marcus said aloud. "Melody!, There's a mage around, he's teleporting more soilders. We need to take care of him!" Marcus shouted to her.

    Time to get serious

Melody frowned at the soldier who had shot at her brother. She took a breath to steady her thoughts and then used the transfiguration spell she had been working on earlier to change his bow into a venomus snake. The snake bit the soldier who died instantly before the snake turned back into a bow. She heard her brother call to her and paused to listen to him. She nodded to him and looked around, he was right. She hadn't noticed it before but soldiers were poping up out of thin air like stars at sunset. She sighed "Of course." she said sarcasticly as she used magic to help her brother by transforming a few weapons into other kinds of lethal items or animals that would deal damage to its holder before changing back to it's original state. She felt a bit fatigued from the use of magic, knowing she should stop before it weakened her more, she looked around for any possible suspect of using magic.

Marcus was grateful that his sister was using magic to aid him, but he knew that if she used it to much it would do her damage. What was that? Marcus thought to himself. He then realized that whenever Melody used magic he could feel it. It sounds odd but when ever his sister used magic to turn a soldiers weapon to a lethal animal he felt a sort of tugging sensation in the back of his mind.

My magic is reacting to hers He thought as he struck down an enemy with his sword. Just then more soldiers appeared. "I wonder" Marcus said as he dodged two attacking soldiers. Marcus then unleashed a flurry of attacks striking down an enemy with each stroke until he was left alone in the court yard.

The mage would have to use a considerable amount of magic to send enough soldiers to keep Marcus busy. Marcus let his sword hang by his side. He closed his eyes and began to search with his mind. Marcus could feel the mage chant his transportation spell, all he needed was for the soldiers appear. Moments later they appeared. Marcus opened his eyes, brought his sword up so his hand was at his chest and the blade was in front of his face.

    "Found you!"

Marcus dissapeared. "Hello there" Marcus said as he stood face to face with the mage. He was dressed in all black like the soldiers he summoned. "Nice tacit" Marcus said to the mage who was taken by surprise "You had me fooled with those mortal soldiers at the beginning, If it wasn't for my sister I think it would have taken me alot longer to figure out the other soldiers weren't human." Marcus said with a grin on his face. The mage obviously knew he was greatly outmatched because he didn't try to fight.

"Now then" Marcus said pointing his blade at the mage's throat."Who are you working for and why did you attack my village?"

The mage seemed to recover from the shock of Marcus suddenly appearing. "Why?" The mage said straitening himself "Why do we attack your village?.Your evil!. If we didn't attack you and yours you would grow strong and attack us!"

Marcus was abit taken back by the anger in the man's voice. "Us attack you?!. We fight you because you attack out kind without question and unprovoked!"

"Unprovoked?!. You monsters attack out villages, kill our men and enslave our women and children!"

"Iv heard quite enough from you!" Marcus said and with that he thrust his sword through the man's chest giving him and instant death.

Marcus warped back to the square to see that when the mage ceased to exist, so did the soldiers he had summoned.

"Melody? Were are you?" Marcus called looking for his sister.

Melody was already at her brother's side before he had the chance to finish saying the words where are you. She looked a bit confused. Obviously she had just heard the conversation between her brother and the mage.

"Evil? Who have we enslaved? I dont remember enslaving anyone." she said "Marcus was he insane?"

Usually she would have been sarcastic when making a remark like that one. But not this time. Melody was a bit suprised with herself at how serious she sounded. She shook her head Quit being such a girl Mel. she thought to herself.

Marcus looked at his sister, he was abit shocked that she seemed so serious. He hadn't seen her like this in years. He understood however that it was a serious matter. He was also looking if his sister had any wounds. He looked at her shoulder and saw the scar in her armour were the man had slashed at her.

Thank the heavens for armour He thought to himself. He then remembered that he hadn't worn any. In his hast to defeat the attackers he hadn't put it on. Looking at the places he had been stabbed he was grateful for the ability that he and his sister shared. Were his wounds once were there was red lines, that traced the area that the blades had penetrated him.

"I have much to tell you" Marcus said to his sister brining his attention back to the matter at hand. "Walk with me" he said as creatures and demons came to clean up there homes. They had walked out of town and into a forest before Marcus said anything. "What the mage said, about our kind kidnapping there women and children and killing there men. Its true, but before you jump to conclusions let me explain. The creatures who do it may be from the darkness, but they are not doing it under our orders. They claim to be doing under the name of the King of Darkness."

Marcus saw his sisters eyes widen. He could hear the question she wanted to ask without her saying it aloud. "Im not sure if its father." He said "There are rumours going about that father survived that day but was gravely weakened. Some of his men who had survived the attack arrived at the home and brought him to safety. Iv sent some scouts out to investigate the claims but so far none have returned."

Marcus was no longer able to read the expression on Melody's face.

"Are you going to be alright?"

Melody shook her head, eventually having to look away from Marcus and to the ground so he would stop trying to read her expression which she was trying to hide "Yes of course I'm ok." she said, cautious to ignore the sick feeling she had.

"But if it really was him, why would he be doing this? He would have at least let us know he was alive wouldn't he?"

"Well...." Marcus took a long moment before continuing. He was thinking how to put it so that his sister wouldn't be to upset with him. "Well I believe he has tried to contact you before. We have often captured someone trying to break into the mansion during the dark hours of the night. And when I would question them they would say 'The message is not for you' then commit suicide.

"Now before you say anything, I didn't tell you because I didn't want to give you false hope. And if it is father what he's doing is wrong. And we must put an end to it. I was planing on taking a small force of my strongest men and going in search of them."

Marcus was interrupted by a rustling in the bush behind them. He drew his sword and readied himself for anything and he saw Melody do the same.

    "Sir!, Sir were are you?!"

"Tinaki?" Marcus said lowering his sword.

"My lord! Thank heavens I found you!"

    "Whats wrong" Marcus asked

"There attacking again sir. And there's a Hero with them!"

Melody froze as she listened to Marcus's story. Had father really tried to contact her? She wasnt at all upset with Marcus. How could she be? All he had done was try to protect her but she was upset about the situation. Why would their father have a messege for her that he couldn't share with Marcus. She remembered when they were little, Marcus got into trouble once when Melody had followed him to the arena. Nothing too terrible happened. Mel never even got hurt. At the time she had been a bit naive and too immature to care much about that kind of stuff. She now looked back and wondered if she had been closer to their parents than Marcus had been... or at least their father.

She shook her head her thoughts interrupted by the sound of the rusteling bush. She pulled out her sword and heard Marcus do the same. The two stood side by side, their weapons ready for trouble in the fraction of a human heartbeat. Melody relaxed a little when it was only Tinaki, one of the soldiers in Marcus's army and a fair friend to both siblings.

After Tinaki gave his messege, Melody put her previous thoughts aside and concentrated on the problem at hand. She knew how her brother was when it came to light beings attacking their homes, especially powerful ones because she was the same way. "How long has this been known? Is the hero well known to us?" she said, trying to gather as much information in as little time as she could.
