    Tales of Amaria:

    The Stone Warriors Part 1

[IMG] (in this scene: The Attack on the Capital of Amaria, which will happen much later in the rp. And a close up of Grond.)

Theme: YouTube - Epic Battle Music of Epic Proportions

Grond stood on the border of one of Amaria's last 4 counties, overlooking a small village. "Today, we strike an attack on this county and we'll be that much closer to taking over Amaria." he said to his army. Grond walked up to Flint, his second in command. "Do we have everything ready for the attack?" He asked

It seemed finally like a peaceful day in the country of Amaria, the breeze was just floating through the grass against the grasshoppers and the birds seemed to be chirping once again. Kaida was lying on the grass as it rippled against her clothes. It seemed quite nice, even though Kaida knew something was going to go wrong. Amaria had been at war for centuries now against Black Claw Army, there was no such thing as peace in quiet. There was no point admiring what seemed to be a beautiful day since it was after all only the break of dawn, anything can happen in a short few hours.

Kaida got up from the grass and reached over for her spear. She's a soldier in the army she might as well get some training in while the sun wasn't at it's highest point. She picked up her spear and headed over to her place to go practise in the back of her house. Kaida decided she'd go visit the rest of the army in a couple of hours, she just really was in the mood for training. She pulled herself up to her full height and headed off with her spear at hand.

Flint nodded. "We do my lord. I can have Blaine's army up and ready at the crack of dawn. Also, I can speak to Grough to see if he will take his squad around to attack from the back." Flint stretched one of his wings in anticipation. "Would you like to participate in the fight my lord?" he asked, looking over at the King.

Griel stood over the map of Amaria, looking over it. He ran a finger over one of the counties that was in danger. He had only four counties left, and he needed to keep them safe. He wondered which one the Black Claw would attack next. "Zawn, I need to know. Where are our men at?"

Grond looked at Flint "In a minute. I need to talk to Leikos." Grond said. He walked past some of his men and found Leikos. "Leikos, would you mind scouting out that village? I want to know if they have any defences." He asked.

Martin walked up to Griel "Father, scout's report that their going through this county next." Martin said pointing at the county that hadn't been taken yet that was farthest from Lergarrian, the capital of Amaria and place they were at. "The only problem is, it's too far away, we've heard their attacking at twilight, that's not enough time for even our fastest horses to get there. What's even worse, their right outside a small village, knowing hte black king he'll order his army to attack it." Martin said

Griel shook his head, sad about what was happening. "And we are sure that none are there to defend that village?" he asked, even though he knew that there would be no one to help defend the village people. "Any of our scouts? There must be something we can do!" Griel said, slamming his fist on the table. Cups fell over, but he paid no attention.

Flint watched Grond walk away. He stretched out his wings, sighing at the relief of it. He jumped in the air and flew over the village, counting the villagers with his sharp eyes. He counted close to 20 villagers, all of them walking around, oblivious to what was happening near by. All the more interesting. Flint thought, flying twice over the village.

    - - - Leikos' POV - - -

"Of course I would be honered to scout out the village, my Lord." Leikos' replied, striding past him as soon as he gave the order and heading towards the small village. It was definitely an honor to be even spoken to by the high Lord, she couldn't let him down she thought as she threw on the hood of her burgandy hood.

Leikos' was approaching the village at a fast rate, from what she could tell there seemed to be no defences up and about but she still had to be sure. She was at the perimeter by this time and slowly walked around the outskirts of the village. There was still no sign of any soldiers anywhere around the edge, which was quite strange, so Leiko started peering through buildings just to make sure that nobody was in there. She walked around the outskirts of the village three times and still noticed no soldiers so she decided she might as well go into it to see what was up. A county that's a part of Amaria who has been fighting a hopeless battle since the start should atleast have soldiers out and about. After all they might as well put up a fight even though my Lord will surely rule it all, Leiko thought a grimace sweeping across her face.

As she proceeded across the tiny village she saw a bunch of children and a couple of adults walking around but none of them looked like soldiers. Where could they possibly be? she thought as she kept walking around the town. "Well it's been a while, I might as well report back and say that I found nothing." she whispered under her breath to herself. She made her back up to where her Lords army stood. "My Lord, from what I can tell there's nobody to defend that village."

    - - - Kaida POV - - -

Kaida had been training for hours now with her spear and she decided that she was fit enough now. She waxed the blade as soon as she got into the house to sharpen it up once again. "I might as well report back the The Amarian Army base" she said to herself. So she picked up her spear once again and began to walk out the door. Maybe something interesting has happened by now, she thought.

"Calm down father, that villiage is set up as a defence, remember? Although they probably won't survive long...If only...Wait..Isn't there a small castle owned by Lord Hammerstone, your cousin next to that villiage? He has great fighters and i'm sure him and his soldier's would defend." Martin said

"Exelent...Although i do like a good fight. Go back and search the area around the villiage to see if anyone owns the villiage, such as a lord." Grond said

Griel quickly stood up, looking over at his son. "Is there anyway we can get word to him by twilight?" he asked, quickly snatching up a piece of paper and writing down a letter. He knew it was an only hope, but he had to do it. "After that, I want someone leading a force to help defend the village close to it. They should reach them by daybreak."

Zawn was practicing with his swords. He was in the forest cutting trees. He kept slashing trees until his arms tired out. He then put them back into their sheaths and headed back to the town. He thought to himsefl Just another a simple day as a General." He then stopped and then looked up to the big, blue sky and said "what a nice sky."

Grond looked around at his fine army. "The day we march to Lergarrian is the day i smile for once..." Grond said. He was usualy without emotion, even in battle. He looked at the villiage "This place will burn to the ground quite nicely

    - - - Leikos POV - - -

"Yes my Lord, I completely understand. I shall search the area immediately." responded Leiko as she slowly bowed down to her Lord and began walking back in the direction of the village. She wasn't quite sure where to look though, so she thought that maybe she should go back into the village to see if there'll be any hints there. She proceeded once again into the small town and immediately began eavesdropping on conversations of surrounding people as she passed them by. So far all anyone was talking about was how there day was, and what their jobs were like. What useless talk, Leiko thought as she kept walking past them. Somebody was sure to know about if a lord owned the village.

When all hope was lost and Leiko thought she'd have to explore every inch of the land to find out, she caught a part of a small conversation between two villagers that would change that thought. She didn't catch it all, the only part she made out was the piece about a Lord living in a castle near by and how they wanted to pay him a visit shortly. "A Lord near by eh?" muttered Leiko excitement bursting inside her. By what she made out though, it didn't sound like this Lord owned the place, but he would be definitely a threat. She decided that she might as well explore to see what side of the town this castle was and tell her Lord all about it.

So Leiko set out outside the village and walked around the perimeter once more, now looking for any hint of a castle. And sure enough, from where you were you could make out a tip of a castle off to the east of where she stood. Once she realized this she ran up back to her Lord to report to him. "My Lord, there's another Lord who lives not far off in the east of the village."

Zawn waked back to the castle to talk to the prince. He was thinking to himself "Why did I become a General?" He thought about all the death he saw on old battlefields. HE was now in the throne room. He went past many guards in signle files. He then looked at the prince and said "What is my mission today my prince?"

Flint gripped his sword handle and slowly opened his wings. He was ready to fight. Ready to destroy the weak that inhabited the world. He slowly rose up off his feet, getting higher than most of the other gargoyle's. Just give the word. He kept thinking, eager to get the fight over with. "My lord. Who will be leading the main force?"

"I see...This could be fun." Grond replied. "Good work Leikos, you've helped your army in a big way today." He said
He looked at Flint "Both of us can." he said

Martin looked at Zawn "The Black Claws are going to luanch an attack at twilight on a villiage on the boarder in the farthest countie from here" Martin replied. "We have to get there as soon as possible and help to defend it." He said

Zawn bowed his head and said "Yes my lord." He then started to march off to his men. But then he stopped and said "Prince Martin, why did I become a General?" He then stood there waiting for the Prince's answer.

Grough was training his men to improve their skills. He then said "Come on, try harder." He then went to target with a drawing of Zawn on it.

Flint's eyes widened. He was leading the main force with the King? Flint would have called this a stroke of luck, but then, he figured the King wanted to keep an eye on him. But Flint was not going to argue. For now, the time was fast approaching for them to attack. He needed to be ready. Flint checked his staff and his blade, making sure they were sharp.

"What do you mean?" Martin asked. Martin looked at him funny. "Becuase of your hard work and training." Martin said. He wasn't quite sure what Zawn was asking.

Grond walked up to Grough. "We're almost ready to strike." Grond said.

"It was my decision." Griel said, facing Zawn. He could tell why it was bothering the young general, and Griel didn't need anyone doubting in this time of war. "Actually, it was Martin's suggestion to me of you. He figured you would be a good addition to the fight, and," Griel placed a hand on Zawn's shoulder. "I hope he doesn't disappoint me."

Grough looked at him and said "Good." He then grabbed an axe and threw it at the drawing. He then said "Its time to die Zawn." He then left the target area.

Zanw looked at the Prince and said "I know I've been a general for a long time but I don't think I can handle all the death anymore." He then bowed his head down and said "Sorry if I'm concerning you my young lord." He then left the room with worry on his face. But before he totally left, he looked at Griel and said "Thank you my old friend."

Grond pulled out his claymore and halberd. He leanded the claymore on his sholder and raised the halberd in the air. "Flint, over here!" Grond shouted at Flint.

Martin looked at his father "Can i go with the attack force, please?" Martin asked
