The Rise and Fall of Starscream

This is a poem about one of my favorite Transformers.

He wore a glittering crown,
Like the King-maker he stood proud and tall.
His cape glistened amongst the stars of space,
For he had finally won the race.

He knew not how it would end,
That Megatron had been reborn,
Or that this defeat would be impossible to mend.

Starscream was a coward,
Who was given a fitting reward.
When Galvatron sent him to oblivion.

The Autobots despise him,
The Decepticons didn't want him to rule,
But the fangirls believed he was cool.
The decision to put him in a series is not based on a whim.

Starscream is hated on-screen,
Starscream is beloved off-screen,
Perhaps that is truly a win?

 

It's very complicated. I'm using the Generation One versions of the characters. In the animated movie, Megatron becomes Galvatron. As the series continues, Galvatron's personality becomes different from Megatron's. Megatron was reborn into Galvatron.
