I think S-E is probably still considering it, because fans are still yapping about it. I don't know more than that.

Personally, I'm against the idea. I like VII just the way it is, with its stupid blocky characters, hilariously bad grammatical mistakes, odd scenes of crossdressing Cloud and group bathing, and so on. I would not want to see anything changed.

i wouldnt want them to change the story mode or fighting style or anything about the game i just want to see final fantasy 7 with some new aged graphics.

Updated graphics is not enough of an incentive for me to want to buy a remake. Even adding a few more bosses wouldn't make it worthwhile to me. And changing anything else would probably just make me angry. >_<

well they could try and go with a story line after advent children they did with FFX.

That would be Dirge of Cerberus right there. Not their best work >.>

I wouldnt buy a remake of FFVII either. Its good and all,but not enough for that.Maybe if they wiat longer, can add some good stuff to it.After all, people did buy the remakes of other FFs before VII,me included.

I approve of remakes for the oldest games, because who has a NES or a SNES anymore? Not as many people as back in the day. And those games, in the SNES format, are probably harder to find. Releasing those games on DS or PSP, or whatever they've been doing with 'em allows a whole new generation of gamers to fall in love with the old school stories and gameplay.

But in my opinion, VII isn't so old that it is impossible to find, and you can play a PS1 game on a PS2, and I'd think a lot of people still have their ps2s. Though, wasn't VII released where you could download it onto your PS3 or something? So it should be very easy to obtain already for new gamers who are interested in it. And just because the graphics look like shit isn't a good enough reason for me to buy a prettier copy of the same game I already own, though admittedly, once S-E finally does go and remake it, I'm sure a ton of people will buy it again for that reason.

That wouldn't be a remake then, and we already have Dirge of Cerberus and Advent Children to fill in the blanks of VII's ending.

Personaly I hate the classic FF gameplay. I like the, FF crisis core for the psp's gameplay the best. I just hate that kinda pokemon feel when I played final fantasy 1 and 2. It bored me to tears. But anyway, I would love to see a FFVII remake. I would like to see the better grafics, and the kind of gameplay machanics FFXIII or FFCC are useing. I would also like a little more input from Cloud on Zack. Since FFCC wasn't out them they couldn't put him in the game at all, like in a flash back or something!

-_____- Why hate on the classic Final Fantasy games? There won't be a Final Fantasy VII if you don't have the classics. Even for Edea, she was designed to be used in the earlier games but they decided to hold onto her and to use her in later games.

He didn't say he hated the classic games, he said he hated the gameplay of the classic games.

I, on the other hand, don't, and really enjoyed VII's gameplay- and I don't like the sound of FFXIII's battle system, (though I'll admit I haven't tried it myself yet) so I'd dislike it if S-E remade VII and went that route. Why fix it if it isn't broken?

Weren't there flashbacks to Zack in VII? Not a lot, but enough that you got to know who he was and how he impacted Cloud (at least enough that the story made sense). If you want more in-depth on Zack, wouldn't you just play Crisis Core?

I don't want a remake. I like the game to stay the same. I hope S-E won't change it. I mean the game is perfect the way it is. Plus, like I read in a website that they are busy with other projects, so it might take a while.

yeah but it would still be good to play one without the characters looking like legos.

    dualblade Break!

The only real reason I can see for their being a remake is so that the ending is clearer.Yes,Advent Children and Dirge show what the ending ended up as,but it can still be confusing if before you see/play those two_Otherwise,not much to do in my opinion.

Funny note about Zack, apparently he was one of the last characters of any real significance to be created for VII.Now he is one of the more popular ones, despite their being barely any info on him in the original game.

they would have to keep FFVIIs gamplay and leveling system those are wat make the game fun to play. along with a great story to following along with and want to make you get farther in the game. i think they should have never changed the leveling system on any of the newer final fantasy games.
They could just do so much to the game to make it seem better thats wat will make you buy the game. if you see the previews the trailers and all that good stuff and it looks interesting youll go buy the game and even if its the same game and not all you thought it was its to late you bought the game.(unless you take it back).

Like what? You say you don't want the gameplay and leveling system changed. So what's left, better graphics and a few more bosses? If they start messing with the story too much, it won't seem like the same game anymore.

What I think I would like to see is the incorporation of Yuffie and Vincent into cutscenes. For all that they were optional, they were still pretty important and they should be in those scenes like everyone else.

There are still things for them to change they could make new weapons and armor and materia etc. they could add alternate costumes. and Yuffie and Vincent could have their own little sequence or somthing leading up to where they were found. like side storys along with the original.

They should just be done with FF VII.

    XD

If they'd give him some reliably strong limit breaks, he'd be an okay party member. He'd still be kinda lame, but I could forgive that if he was more useful.

Well, yes, but as long as it keeps making them money, I think they'll keep taking advantage of it.
