The New and Improved Rules (and Other Helpful Information)

    This thread will go over the general rules of the forum. Please follow them, or face the wrath of the staff. :D

    • One account per person.
    • Respect the forum and your fellow members- no harassing or flaming.
    • Listen to the moderators and administrators- do not ignore warnings and/or disobey their suggestions.
    • Do not publically disagree with a staff member's decision- if you have concerns, contact the moderator or administrator by private message.
    • Report rule violations to the staff. Do not attempt to discipline any other users.
    • Keep the forums clean. No obscene or explicit words, posts, links, attachments, avatars, signatures, etc.
    • Absolutely no hateful or discriminatory posts.
    • Keep discussions understandable- do not use excessive slang, text speak, and the like. Please, no excessive smilies.
    • No posting or linking to anything illegal.
    • No advertising, except in your signature.
    • No spam/irrelevant posts.
    • Bumping is now permitted. However, you cannot bump your own thread (i.e. if your thread is 9 months old, you cannot post in it).
    • Some forums have separate rules. Please read and obey them.
    • No double posting. Threads you've made in the Traditional and Digital Showcases made to display your own work are the exceptions.
    • Signatures can be no more than 500 x 200 pixels. Signatures that break this rule will be removed.
    • Images posted directly in a thread should be no bigger than 800 x 800 pixels.
    Administrators and Moderators have the right to interpret these rules and warn users at their discretion.

    The warning system is as follows:

    1. Informal warning or reminder via visitor or private message.
    2. Formal Warning
    3. Infraction
    4. Temporary Ban
    5. Permanent Ban

    Some acts, such as making multiple accounts and advertising outside of your signature, may skip these steps and lead to an immediate permanent ban.

    Colored Usernames

    Here's just a brief run-through of the different usergroups, since the old thread was old, and some of the information was scattered here and there. Nothing in this post is new.
    ----------

    Community Members- This is the group for members with less than 1000 posts. Default name color.

    Elite-This is the group for members with between 1000 and 2000 posts. Max avatar size becomes 125 x 125 and you can upload animated avatars. Custom user titles become available. PM box is upgraded to 200. You are allowed to change your name once when you reach this point.

    Vet- This is the group for members with over 2000 posts. Max avatar size becomes 150 x 150. Signature limit grows to two. PM box is upgraded to 500. You can now leave negative reputation. You may open or close your own threads (though this will be revoked if abused). There's also a surprise in store for the members of this usergroup (though how much of a surprise it is is up for debate). You may make one more name change.

    Retired Staff- Just as it says, this is an honorary group for past moderators of the forum.

    Site Staff- This usergroup is for updaters on the main site, and for volunteers on the forum. The members in this group do not have moderator powers.

    Staff Apprentice- The trainee usergroup.

    GFX Team- This usergroup is for the moderators of Digital Showcase and those who lend their GFX skillz to the forum.

    Moderator- This color is reserved for section moderators.

    Super Moderator- Dark purple-colored usernames are for the super moderators. S mods have power over the entire forum.

    Administrator- The bosses. Admins run the site and make the final decisions concerning the forum. Current administrators include TradeDemon (site owner), Vox, and myself.​
