!:..:The Legend of Zelda RE: Ocarina of Time:..:!

During the events of a massive conflict known as the Hyrulean Civil War, a woman escaped the ravages of war with her child. The woman was gravely injured, but managed to reach Kokiri Forest, a sanctuary that deters all outsiders. Before passing away, she left the child in the care of the Great Deku Tree. The boy was to be raised as a Kokiri, and would remain ignorant of his destiny, until one day, when the Gerudo King of Thieves appeared in the forest and demanded a Spiritual Stone from the Great Deku Tree. The mighty guardian tree refused to give it to him, sensing his evil intentions, and in return had a death curse put on him.

The Great Deku Tree entreats Navi, a young fairy of Kokiri Forest, to take the boy, known as Link, to the Great Deku Tree. After obtaining a sword and shield, he approaches the Deku Tree. The tree tells Link of the curse on him, and the brave youth enters the Deku Tree to break the evil curse. Link successfully defeats the enemies inside, but the Deku Tree reveals that it was already too late for him even before he entered. In his last moments of life, he tells Link of the creation of Hyrule and the Triforce that Ganondorf desires. He reveals that it is Link's destiny to thwart the great evil and restore peace to Hyrule, and gives him the Spiritual Stone, a key to unlocking the gates to the Sacred Realm, where the Triforce is kept. He is to seek out Zelda, the Princess of Hyrule. The Great Deku Tree, his purpose now fulfilled, withers and dies, the first of many casualties of the Imprisoning War.

Navi hovered slightly obove a small river running through Kokiri forest. Somewhere this river lead to Hyrlue field but she never had gotten the guts to travel that far to see for herself. She was basicly just playing around. She used magic to levitate drops of water into various different patterns and shapes. She did this often when she was bored or stressed out. Now she was both. The Great Deku Tree was getting weaker by day ever since the Gerudo man came and cursed it. She wasn't sure how long the tree was going to survive and she didn't know what she was going to do after he died either. After he died there would be no guardian of the forest and the monsters from outside the forest would be able to come in and the children would not be safe. She sighed and flew upward as high as she could, far above the treetops to a point where onlookers from the ground wouldn't be able to see her at all against the blue sky. She saw the clearing of Kokiri Villege and she flew toward it, being sure to keep descrete which wasn't that hard for her seeing as she was only the size of a butterfly. She flew through the villege at a leasurely pace not looking for anything and trying to clear her mind. Lost in thought, she ran straight into one of the wooden fences accidently. "Ow!" she said as she regained flight and dusted herself off. She shook her head then tried again, this time flying between the fence posts insted of into one. Suddenly she heard a voice in her head "Navi come. I have need to speak to you." Navi instantly recognized the voice as the guardian of Kokiri forest and she picked up speed, making a beeline for the entrence to the path the Deku's clearing. The last thing she saw as she leaft the villege was the leader of the villege, Mido flirting with the green haired girl, Sariah.

 

Navi flew up to the Deku tree with haste. She stopped suddenly when she was there and then said "You called me?"
The Deku said "Navi.... I am dying."
Navi freaked out "What!? No you're not... you said that the curse wasn't that strong!" she flew up closer the giant tree with tears in her tiny eyes "That can't be true! You can't die!"
The tree interrupted her "Go into the Villege and find a Kokirian named Link. He is the boy without a fairy. Find him and bring him to me. Fly with haste Navi." Navi hesitated but then did as she was told flying very quickly back to the villege.

 

Navi flew into Link's room quickly, there was no time to waste. She saw him sleeping on his bed and she hovered over his ear, she didn't have much time to notice he was having a nightmare "Hello!? My name is Navi I really need you to wake up now!..." the little boy muttered something about a girl named Saria and shifted in his sleep. Navi was losing patience "Come on! Did the Great Deku Tree really send me all the way down here to seek the help of such a lazy boy!?" she said as she flew a little franticly. The boy woke up screaming the girl named Saria's name and as he sat up he accidently hit her with his hand. Navi was sent flying back across the room and hit the bookshelf. A few of the books fell to the floor with a loud clattering sound. "... ow." she muttered as she stood up and flew again, annoyed. "Finally you're awake." she said exasparated but also a little amused.

 

Navi nodded, brushing off her clothes "I'm stronger than I look... fortunately." she said shortly. "And my name is Navi... you are Link right?" she said really hoping she got the right house. She didn't see any other fairies in the little one roomed tree house so she assumed she must have found him.

 

Navi knew she was supposed to hurry but she laughed a little at the childlike excitement. She found him almost too cute to dissapoint so she just played along. Little did she know she really WAS Link's fairy but for now she really didn't belive she was. She decided to pretend anyway "...Yes. Sorry I never showed up sooner but I was held up with the Great Deku Tree (All the Kokirians know who the Deku tree is.)" she had been standing on the bedside table as she spoke but then she flew up to eye level with him "He needs to speak with you right away."

 

Navi nodded "Yes you." she knew why he looked so suprised. The only Kokirian who had ever been out to see the Great Deku Tree was the leader of the Kokirian Tribe, Midow. She had met the boy before and found him to be a snobbish little twirp but she of course would never say it out loud. She shook her head "I know all of this is so confusing but we must make haste. We are losing precious time as we speak." she smiled. Though she was anxious to get back on time she had never known what it was like to have a Kokirian companion. She decided it might be fun while it lasted. She didn't expect to be with Link for long just until after the Deku Tree had told him what he wanted to say. She flew to the door which was closed and the nob was way too big for her to open though she tried anyway. She flew under the nob and tried to push it upward with both hands.

 

Navi flew right next to Link. As they approached the gates to the path to the Deku Tree's clearing someone stepped in their path. Navi recognized the redhead immediately as his freckled face, smirking slightly, as the boy stepped in their path. It was Midow, the egotistacal leader of the Kokiri children. *I'll post his profile* "Oh, well if it isn't the farieless wonder." he said with a cruel smile. Navi glared and stood on Links sholder. Midow took notice of her and laughed, Navi was the first and only Blue fairy he had ever seen. Also he noticed her right wing was slightly crooked at the tip *She's a little clumsey ok!? lol* "Well it's about time you got a fairy. She's just like you and everything: A weird outcast." he laughed.

Navi glared despite her size she had a really spunky nature and she didn't like being insulted at all. "Hey you big bullie!" she said as she stood up and flew off of Links sholder and right up in front of Midow's face with her hands on her hips "Link has been summoned by the Great Deku Tree himself so take your egotistical attitude with you and move."

Midow looked suprised "The Deku Tree Summoned... YOU!?"
