We thought that we were the only ones out there. That no other life form could exist in the galaxy. But we were wrong.
Our world has been invaded and our bodies taken from us. Human life has been destroyed but our bodies remain. This story revolves around three humans. A man and his two children. His name is Porter Stryder and his children Melanie and Jamie.

Porter took his family into hiding as it became obvious that our world was being slowly invaded. Taken over peacefully but against our will. Porter tried to save his wife and two children by running away from home but the four of them were caught off guard and his wife, Marissa, rather than being taken away and turned into one of them, Committed suiside right there in front of the enemies and her husband and children. Scarred by their loss, the family managed to escape and Porter took Melanie and Jamie into the forest and the three of them hid there in the wild for nearly a full year.
As a year ended the three of them were running out of supplies and Porter knew he would have to go into civilization in order to get it back. He would have to go back with the alien race to save his family. he told Melanie to take care of Jamie and then he ran off to find supplies.

Melanie and Jamie waited for days. Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. Their father still hadn't returned. Finally after Melanie and Jamie were afraid their father was lost to them forever he returned to them. But something was wrong. Porter seemed different: he was so calm, almost unfeeling. And he seemed to be hiding some kind of secret. Melanie and Jamie could both see it. He was lying all of the time. He wouldn't tell them of his experience in the 'civil' world. It was a few days later that they were ambushed. Turns out Porter was not Porter Stryder anymore. His name was now Seeker Knits Fire. Porter was caputured and his mind was taken over by Knits Fire. Using Porters memories, he gave away Melanie and Jamie's position. Melanie and Jamie barely escaped, but Knits Fire survived. For all Melanie and Jamie know, their father is dead his body taken over by Knits Fire.

Now Melaine and Jamie have to fend for themselves and live on their own. The Souls know they survive now and the seekers are tracking them, lead by Seeker Knits Fire who has all of their father's memories. Knits Fire knows everything about Melanie and Jamie through Porter's memories. If anyone can find them: he can.

Jared O'Shey is a mysterious figure. He has survived alone for a very long time. Thats basicly all thats known about him. He and Melanie and Jamie are all headed in the same direction though: to survive. To continue existing. ​

Terms

Soul-The Souls are the aliens that have invaided our world. They are not violent or gross though. Actually, Souls are extremely peaceful. Almost TOO peaceful. They dont even approve of the Brady Bunch because there was blood in one epasode. The Souls in reality are long silvery masses of cells. Humans call them parasites, or worms. Souls cannot survive without a host body. Their way of insertion is a way that is completely painless for both the souls and the hosts and usually the host mind dies away once the Soul takes over only their memories and feelings remain. Souls really never understood emotion so entering the human world facinates them with these strange overwhelming emotions and memories of motherhood, familes, sex, joy, pain: all of these things are pretty interesting to souls. Souls are scared of 'wild' humans. And they dont approve of war and stuff. They took over earth because it was their way of survival, exploration, and saving earth from the humans that lived on it. They still live the way humans did. They still drive cars and go to work and do their hair in the morning. The only difference is there is no money, no crime, mostly no biological families because any children born are given up as new host bodies.
The Souls have taken over quite a few other worlds besides earth.
Insertion cannot be done by themselves. It is a special sergery where souls called 'healers' will make a small insision in the back of the hosts's neck and the soul will make its way in from there. Once a soul is inserted it takes over the hots's brain. Pushing back the hosts mind gently until it no longer exists. All that remains of the host is it's body and memories. (in most cases)
If the hosts mind doesn't end up dissapearing like it's supposed to, then it still cannot regain control of it's body. They end up a prisoner in their own body. Seeing and hearing what the soul can but not being able to move or speak unless its through thoughts to the soul who is invaiding their mind. (this happens RARELY!)


Seekers-Seekers are the only 'Violent' souls. It is a seekers job to track down and capture any wild humans. They are convinced that they do their job to protect their race and their way of life because 'wild' humans are dangerous in a Soul's eyes. Humans are way too impulsive and they kill too easily.

Humans- Well I think it's pretty obvious what humans are if you dont know then you may need some help... go look in a mirror or something. There are hardly any humans left in the world that are 'wild' in the words of the Souls. Jamie, Melanie, and Jared might very well be the only three left. (pretend you haven't read the book yet lol)

1- This is an Invite only RP. Sorry I wish I could accept everyone but this is pretty limited in the character list.
2- This is a rated M RP but I would prefer that you keep Really mature scenes to PM.
3- No Mary Sue Characters
4- All human characters are listed in the characters needed box. Sorry but those are the only three. I dont care if a girl wants to play a boy role or vise versa.
5- The one who playes Porter Stryder/Seeker Knits Fire, you can decide wether or not Porter is still alive in there but Porter can not move his body or speak. He can only speak to Knits Fire through thoughts.

lol I cant garuntee specific characters to anyone just now. Just post the profile of the character you want for now. I will set it to a vote once I've heard from everyone that I've invited. Theres still DW, Rai, Oath, Exfir, Kairu, and Kupo I haven't gotten a responce from and I'm not sure what characters they will try out for. But like I said, post a Jared Profile LS and Post a Jamie profile Kairi Star. You are both really good roleplayers I'm sure you have good chances at getting the parts you want.

Name- Melanie Stryder

Age- 17

Weapon- (Seekers are the only souls who carry weapons. Humans dont have guns. It's too risky to carry loud weapons.) She doesn't have a weapon but as result of a life time of sports, Melanie is very physically fit and she knows how to throw a few pretty good punches especially if it means to save her life or Jamie's.

Bio- Melanie was a pretty good student in highschool. She had a B average and she was getting scholarships from all over due to her sports record. Her favorite sport was soccer. She grew up in a middle class home with her father, mother, and annoying little brother Jamie in Phoenix Arazona. When it began on the news that something strange was beginning to happen in other contries Melanie didn't really notice. She was too busy getting ready for collage and stuff though she was still only a Junior in high school.
After things got really bad with the souls and it was obvious that the human race was in danger of extinction her father took all of her family into hiding but they were caught and Melanie, helping her father cover Jamie's eyes, watched her own mother commit suicide rather than have to become a soul and ceace to exist.
Melanie managed to escape with her father and brother and the tree of them became very close while hiding somewhere in the wilderness. AFter they started running out of supplies Melanie begged her father to find annother way then having to go into the heart of the enemy to survive but she could see as well as her father there was no alternative. Melanie promised her dad that she would watch over Jamie and make sure he was safe.... she never saw her father alive again.
Now Melanie is on the run with Jamie. The two of them are alone and for all they know they may very well be the only surviving humans left on the planet but Melanie hasn't given up hope.
Years ago her uncle Jeb, a man who everyone thought was crazy, use to call his family and warn them that the aliens were comming. When no one in his family would listen, Jeb sent out a piece of paper with strange lines on it to everyone he cared about. Weeks later Jeb had gone into hiding.
Melanie has the suspicion that that piece of paper is still in her house, and that it may be some clue that there is truly more human life out there. That her uncle Jeb had left her family some kind of map on those lines and that it is still in the house she use to live in before the catastrophe happened. THe only problem is that Seeker Knits Fire now lives in that house. Melanie and Jamie have to face the very thing that is looking to capture them in order to get back their only hope of survival.

Personality- Melanie has a short temper sometimes and she and Jamie use to fight ALOT. But now, Jamie is the only one she would never lose her temper on. She is very close to her brother and would do ANYTHING to protect him. She partly blames herself for the deaths of her parents but mostly she blames the souls. She hates them more than anything for taking everything from her and taking her home world away.
Despite her hate and the scars left on her heart from a rough past, Melanie likes to smile and laugh. She is pretty sarcastic sometimes and is a good liar.

Awesome Star. lol Stephanie Meyer made Jamie a little more innocent but I kind of like your twist on it. It makes Melanie seem less of a Mary Sue character.
