The Hand of Man (actual RP)

Earl uncorked an old test-tube he found lying around in his new home.

Obviously not a apart of any normal chemistry-set, Earl thought to himself as he almost vomited from the disgusting smell of meth that was still in the thing. He dropped the tube and watched it shatter. Each flake of glass to him represented the word.

Falling apart.

Earl quickly grabbed a lab-coat off the rack; he had to do something to stop it.

 

Will ran from the base, his temer in full swing. As he reached a large concrete wall a guard shouted. "He's trapped at the wall! He can't escape!" Will grinned at this and muttered. That's what you think..." He starten jogging, prepping his legs for the jump. Will got close to the wall and kicked off, flying over the wall with ease. When he landed he didn't stop but continued running on all fours, passing the speed of a cheetah.

 

"I can't believe its been another sleepless night..." groaned Vincent as he swung his feet off the couch and to the floor. Lazily he took up the remote control and pressed down on the power button. A large holographic screen zipped on and displayed a lovely woman with blond hair tied in a bun announcing the latest news.

"Recent reports claim that two men jumped from the highest floor of company's building, however these reports cannot be verified at this point. Ironically enough the company's New York branch was under investigation for embezzling money, and now with the building destroyed there is likely to be little evidence from their computers left to recover. Official reports state that there were several simultaneous explosions from different points. All of which are --" Vincent turned off the television and rose from the couch.

"Looks like that was a success. Congratulations, Forde, on another stupendous piece of art." he mused to himself as he pulled open the refrigerator. Bending his knees he came to eye level with its contents and took out left over Chinese food.

Walking back to his living room, Vincent set down the food. He leaned back into the couch and stared up at the ceiling and his eyes searched, but for what Vincent didn't know. Maybe it was the answer to his illness, or maybe it was the answer to killing this hatred he owned. Either way, the ceiling held no such information today and tomorrow his new home would hold the same answer as all the others; nothing.

With a heavy sigh, the white haired man pushed away his dreary thoughts and returned to his food. Soon he would be in France where he would begin his mission: Helping Forde bring down more projects like himself. Ironically enough this task also allowed him to satisfy his cynicism, and while it was a rapture of sorts, it was also a disgust.

Setting down the food, he rose again and headed for his bathroom. He didn't need to taste the food to know it would taste just like ash.

When his steaming shower was over, he stepped out from the tub and wrapped a heavy purple towel around his waist. From there he had to pack his bags and get everything in order so that when he left for France nothing was left behind.

"Well, I wonder how the French will receive me this time? They weren't exactly happy when you left last time, and it didn't help that some of the secretaries were passing those dirty rumors around..." a small, smug smile spread over his face. "Well, it's not like they weren't all false." He laughed an easy, joyous laugh that led him to one of his coughing fits, "Ack! Damn!" Blood hacked from his lungs and soaked the carpet. With great disdain he rose from the ground and resumed backing. His haughty mood now dampened.

 

Will stopped and turned to look at the base in the distance. "And so the son destroys the father..." He muttered, clicking a button on a detonator. The building went up in flames from almost 300 pounds of dynamite. The rain chilled him to the bone and his body ached but his temper was still going and he needed to find a place to rest, eat, and sleep.

 

Lily lay curled up on the bed of her dark cell. She was breathing heavily, she felt so weak. 'Why am i not dead yet? They have taken everything i have and now they are literally draining me of my life bit by bit.' Lily heard the sound of synchronised footsteps. Getting closer, she didnt bother look over her shoulder. She knew what will happen. The guards will stand by the doors while the head of the lab will walk in and take her to the testing room. She would be strapped to a table while 3 different doctors will slowly and painfully take skin and blood samples from her.

She closed her eyes and in 2 seconds there she was, lying on the cold operating table with the doctors bottling up her blood and skin samples in test tubes. But there was one difference this time, there was one extra person there. She recognised him; it was the man himself....Mr. James Cummings the scientist that destroyed her life in an instant. Her mind didn't want to remember…but it did. She closed her eyes and remembered that very day, when her brother was dragged away by the soldiers....how she was left all alone, living among strangers in a refugee camp. She felt cold, her hands started to shake, her whole body felt like it was changing she felt a swelling pain inside her body, she screamed. She heard a fainted voice saying ‘control her, dont lose her.’ She felt something pierce into her arm which knocked her unconscious.

She woke up and saw James standing over her; she looked at him, her eyes filled with tears of hate, pain and rage. He just looked back at her, tilted his head and chuckled. As she pulled at her shackles he started to burst out with laughter. “You look just as pathetic as your brother did.” He said with a sinister voice, Lily stopped and started to cry. He raised his hands and removed his glasses. He then placed them next to her head; he looked up then continued “Do you know why you’re here? Because your special, you’re not like ‘other people’, you can do things that noone else can, you have a power that even you can’t control, so if we harness that, imagine how many people it would save.” Lily didn’t understand what he was talking about, only that she had the power to rip him apart. But she can’t seem to control it.

He picked up his glasses and balanced them on his nose. “Well…that doesn’t matter now does it? You work for us; we take care of you….simple as.” He turned and strode off. The guards walked in and took her to her room. It was a pure white room with no windows, no doors, and no way out. She sighed then looked at her arm, there was a part that her muscles were visible but she seemed to notice that slowly, her skin began to heal. Until her skin looked like before. She screamed and started punching the walls. She closed her eyes and fell to the ground. She looked at her grazed, bleeding knuckles and again she slowly watched them heal themselves. A tear rolled down her cheek. ‘Im not going anywhere am I?’

 

"Hm? Well that's odd," Vincent commented as he took up the file. He thanked Forde for the information and set the papers down next to his traveling case, "Yeah. While I'm in France I'll do some digging. Oh! That reminds me. Why are you now taking out two targets at once? I thought you were only going after one at a time to avoid some difficulties? Did something push you to take out two at once?"

 

Slightly confused Vincent set down what cloths he had selected out for himself. "If it's not you, then ..." For a few brief seconds he pondered what this meant, but resolved to show Forde the news footage he had saved. "Here follow me." Turning on the ball of his feet, Vincent walked back out to the living room and pulled up his television recording list, and scrolled down to a news recording three weeks old. He opened it and once more the same blond took the screen.

"Aside from this incident, one other terrorist act has been reported. Over in Africa, a U.N. military base was demolished. While officials deny such an event, amateur video footage has been gathered. After hours of examination, our experts have claimed that the footage we are about to show is legitimate. Be warned: the footage we are about to show contains a violent scene. Viewer desecration is advised."

A rough video played, showing that a heavily armed military based went up in a massive explosion.

"This happened only a few hours after you blew up that base in Russia."

 

Ben awoke violently, shaking off the cold sweat he had drew up in his sleep. Once again, he had been visited by the nightmares of his time in the Japanese base. Groaning, he sat up and looked out the window. Light was shining through, meaning it was around mid-morning. Ben stood up and walked out of his room. He worked as a scientist for the United Nations, studying their supply of Quantum. But he had other plans. Plans that needed to be put into effect soon. Cause and effect... he thought sadly.

 

"Hm? No I don't. Remember Forde my eyesight isn't as good as your own enhanced. For me to see what was probably clear to you, I would need to take this image and magnify it God only knows how many times. Why? What did you see?" Vincent walked over to his friend and kneeled.

 

Will walked through the snow and rain towards the next town. His anger was slowly cooling. He would make it, but just barely. He thought of what he was, what was inside him. He remembered scientists saying he was a branch of Project Quantum and that he would help better humanity. "How could a monstrosity like me better humanity?" He muttered, starting to run again.

Earl rubbed his hands together quickly, causing enough friction that kept him warm for a couple of seconds. He then sat down on an old, tacky orange couch that had different rips and tears in it. Almost like claw marks.

Earl yawned and stretched out his legs as he placed a laptop on a small coffee-table in front of him.
His brother, Dax, had been contacting Earl now and then- asking him about his different ideas to lock missile targets.

It wasn't working too well.

*France*

In the dark streets in Rennes, a lady started to run, carrying a sword in her hand as she was running away from her the enemy. "I can't believe this. I should've remembered to bring my weapons with me just in case." She then stopped as she heard footsteps coming in her directions & she started to look around to find another get away. She then found a door & she jumped to it as gunshots was aiming at her. She rushed through the bar, finding herself lost, but not worrying as she tried to get through the people. As she made her way towards the entrance, she busted through as she made a right & found a abandoned car. She then jumped in the car to temporarily use to hide. "We must find her! I don't care what it takes! Take her in dead or alive!" The Iraqians splitted up to track her down, but she then started to make a plan. "I must hurry on back to our base in France. There, we shall move our base to somewhere more safe & more secure." The lady jumped out of the car & started to head for a train to go to France...

 

Ben sat down at his desk and booted up his computer. The first thing he did was run a systems check, to make sure no one had searched his computer. Satisfied that it was clean, he pulled up the file on an old project of Quantum, one he had been studying for some time now. The image of a boy came up. Ben reread the name of the boy, putting it into his memory banks. William Johnson. he kept thinking. Ben needed to find him.
"What are you looking at?" a voice said behind him. Ben quickly closed out the file and turned to find one of the other scientists staring at him.
"Just going over some old work. Trying to get a feel of the company." The scientist shrugged at Ben's answer and walked away. Ben slid a USB into the slot, moving the file onto the USB drive and placing a virus on his computer, killing everything on it. He stood up and left the building. Standing outside in the cold, he planned his next move.
"I guess it's to France then." he said to no one in particular and went into town.
