Many specify that that this Conflicker virus can only attack Windows OS (Operating Systems) and that the newer other OS are safe and not vulnerable such as Linux or Mac OS.
Another factor that some say is what browser you are using. Many say that E-Explorer is very vulnerable to the rumored attack and other browsers like FireFox, Opera and Google Chrome seem to be less vulnerable.

I'm still edgy about if its all true or just a hoax, seemingly because the world almost needs the internet to spin these days. Also the story seems a bit advertising for higher quality Anti-Virus software to be sold.
If it were taken so seriously, perhaps all Internet Cafe's would close on that particular day (April 1st). I will probably be one of those who backs off on the day (even if I had a Mac or was using Linux) cause I don't have the cash to back up a new laptop if this one of mine crashes because I was being Half-Smart-Cocky-Assed towards the virus.
I also think it could be a World April Fool's joke as well seemingly it is being released on April 1st as well.
If this kind of project could be pulled off, It would be a major Boom for the leading Anti-Virus software maker, which is why I was edgy about the advertising hint from the article. I'm still an Internet Migrant (Only being able to use it frequently nearly two years ago) and If I see this being pulled off, I'm still going to be surprised about it.

Ya know when i really think about it. i never thought about it that way. that it could be the worlds largest April fool joke, and or the largest advertisement on the web. good theory you got there.

Rai McAfee is good but if you're looking for price and something that will last longer I sugest trendmicro, it's absolutely amazing it doesn't require subscription (so it says I got it a few months back) and I never had any official computer problems except msn acting up but it was due to me having windows vista. Here's the site for trend micro...
