The Black Swan (OOC, SU, ETC...)

Plot​

Odile von Rothbart is a young sorceress in training under her father's tutelage. She adores and respects him, at least in part because he has taught her that women are meant to be loyal to men. Living in the gardens is the "flock;" the group of young women Rothbart has ensorceled because they were unfaithful to their husbands or fathers. They are under a curse which compels them to become swans by day and women only during moonlit hours. The most beautiful and noble of these is Princess Odette, the Queen of Swans.

Odile is restless because her father seldom praises her, even though (or perhaps because) she is growing to be his equal in magic. She has never seen much of the world outside her father's estate, but she knows she would like the company of other people. She has no interest in the swans because they seem to lack her intelligence, and because Rothbart has taught her to despise them.

When Odette openly defies Rothbart, challenging him to give a convincing reason for his punishment of the flock, he offers her a deal; if she can capture and hold the loyalty of a man for an entire month, the curse which keeps the flock captive will be broken. A condition of the deal is that the young man must know exactly what Odette had done (refused the engagement her father had set for her and run away with a member of the court) and still pledge his loyalty to her. Rothbart then leads the flock, plus Odile, on a long journey to Siegfried's kingdom.

In the secondary plot, Queen Clothilde is a competent but ruthless woman acting as regent for Siegfried. She does not want to surrender power to her son when he turns 18; an event mere months away. She plans a birthday celebration for him at which six beautiful princesses, all prospective brides, will attend, hoping to distract him from his kingship. Clothilde secretly hopes to kill Siegfried and either take the throne in right or continue as regent for a grandchild. She is aided in her scheme by Uwe, her minstrel and former lover.

Siegfried himself is a womanizer and a scoundrel, but a religious experience convinces him to change his ways. Clothilde is dismayed, since the reformed Siegfried is winning the respect of her court. Baron Rothbart pays a visit to Clothilde and requests that his own daughter be allowed to attend the festival as a potential bride. She agrees, tempted by the prospect of having a sorcerer readily at hand.

Name: Odette
Role: Von Rothbart calls her the Queen of the Swans because she has been his captive the longest and her crime was the biggest
Bio: Odette was the princess to a large kingdom. Her father promised her mother on her deathbed that he would never force Odette to marry someone she didn't love but then only a short two weeks after they burried her mother, Odettes father aranged Odette to marry a prince from a different kingdom who was mean and older than her grandfather. She convinced a squire from the kingdom that she was in love with him so he would help her run away and she planned on sneaking away from him as soon as she was within the safety of a different kingdom and married to someone she REALLY loved. But when her plans were made, she and the squire were attacked by a HUGE owl and the next thing she remembered was she woke up on the bank of a river outside a dark castle and when the sun rose she became a swan. More women also got captured by Rothbart and turned into swans by day as well. She is protective of them.
Appearence: (She always has white hair and round ears. She wears the black dress now... the second pic will come into the RP later.)
Age: She doesn't age because of the enchantment but she looks to be about 21
Personality: Odette is proud and resentful. She is protective of the other women and girls that Von Rothbart has kidnapped. She has grown a bond with all of them and she is even growing some sort of friendship with his daughter, Odile.
Weapon of choice: She doesn't use a weapon except for her cleaver attitude and a small amount of magic she learned.

Name: Catholde
Role: Queen (Seigfried's mother)
Bio: Catholde was a princess of a different kingdom as a younger girl. She used a love potion to get the king to fall in love with her and then she encouraged him to go on with dangerous habbits and she got him killed on purpose before Seigfried was old enough to become king. She's been serving as regent for Seigfried until he turns to the right age to become king. She wants more than anything to be queen permenently. She plans on getting Seigfried a wife and then after he bears an heir to the throne she plans to kill him and serve as regent for her grandson as well. Or if her luck serves her well enough, maybe Seigfrieds death will convince the counsil to make her queen until the day she dies. She honestly believes that the rest of the world is full of people who are stupid and they NEED her. She and her former lover, Uwe who is a minstral, plot the death of anyone who stands in the way of her to the throne. She believes that she has Uwe wraped around her little finger but could it be possible that her charming minstral has plans of his own? She uses him shamelessly and doesn't know what she would do without his help sometimes.
Appearence: She uses a little magic to keep herself looking young but it's starting to wear off a little to her annoyence.
Age: 44
Personality: Crafty, cleaver, cold hearted, good actress, selfish, greedy, self-centered. She still makes everyone believe that she loves Seigfried more than anything though all she really wants is to see him dead.
Weapon: Every knight in the court with their swords, her cunning personality, and a little magic.
