The world was prosperous, it was a rare time without war, the people were beginning to become happy, it looked to be a golden age. And then it all went wrong. The light all was vanquished and all that remained was the shadows, who hungered for the souls of those weak of heart. All of a sudden the shadow’s power gave birth to new creatures, those only dreamed of. Beings from stories of old, The strange eared people of magic, the bearded mountain men, the beings who resided beneath the waters, all manner of beings had been created, but the shadows they were spawned from soon overtook the hearts of the majority of them. Now a few simple people who have escaped the onslaught have banded together, in the hopes of escaping the shadow and bringing forth the morning, and an end to this eternal night. They have been able to use what technology the humans had before the shadows came to grow food and create artificial life in the caverns beneath the planet’s surface, but in the land beneath the earth there are dark creatures, and the shadows will soon overtake you. So choose your next move wisely, or it may be the last one you make…

Okay, you are a member of one of the species below, and it's your job to survive in this post apocalyptic world. Eventually, you're going to try and meet with other people, and then you'll set off to destroy the shadows, simple right? Wrong. You'll see what I mean when we start this...

Okay, so here's the list of species you can be.

Elves: You know a lot about them already no doubt. Pointed Ears, love nature, caused by a minor mutation in humans, which was in turn caused by the shadows and the fact that many nuclear bombs have been detonated after the shadows appeared. They are typically nimbler than normal humans, and are good at tracking. They have a strong connection with the elements of nature, but have only a very small capacity for controlling any elements, with only a few of them becoming mages, with them having great control of the elements.

Dwarves: Small, but physically strong and with rock hard hides. They are usually stubborn and will not waver in their beliefs, even when proven wrong. Their rock hard skin is extremely hard to pierce, so poison is the best way to kill them. They are good with Rocks, and have slight control over earth.

Humans: Seeing as you are one, I think you know what they can do. Practically nothing without weaponry.

Merpeople: People who have tailfins as opposed to feet. They live under the water, as you may have guessed, and barely fight off the horrors of the post-apocalyptic world they now live in. They have a great control of water, and can manipulate it with ease.

Orcs: Orcs are horrible figures, standing taller than humans. They are green skinned and brown skinned mostly, and have huge fangs. They are naturally muscular, but have soft skin, leading them to specialise in offense. They are despised by nearly everyone due to their apearance, leading them to become a bit sadistic, loving to inflict pain on any and all who are unfortunate enough to cross their paths. Although they cannot use magic, they are extremely skilled with weaponry and have good hand eye coordination, thus making up for their lack of defensive abilities as they can block with their weaponry more easiliy than humans can.

Dragonfolk: After the apocalypse, Dragons appeared from the many lizards on earth. Some of them became civilized and bred with humans to achieve a stronger mind. They are basically scaled humans with wings and forked tongues. They can breath and to a smaller extent manipulate fire. They are universally hated, because the dragons, who grew wiser than humans, and realised that Dragonfolk were horrible mistakes. The Dragonfolk now hid from most others, living in isolation until they are finally needed.

Shadow Servants: People of any race who serve the shadow, you have to PM me if you want a position as one of these guys. They can control the shadow to a small extent, and there're only seven spots available for them.

    Locations.

New York City: The ruins of which are where the shadows reside in the greatest power.

Alamatia: The largest underground City, it is host to a variety of facilities and species. There is a quarter of the city devoted completely to elves. It is located under the ruins of Paris.

Xanadu: An underground city, famous due to it being the closest city to New York. It is mostly a military city, and is where people go to train most often. Located under Washington DC.

El Dorado: A city located in South America, under the ruins of São Paulo. It is considered a safe haven, where all are accepted and a large amount of trade happens.

Caelum Ager: A city located under the Swiss Alps, home to the Dragonfolk and the only place they are accepted. They reside here, where all aspects of their cuilture come into play, and they learn their unique style of fighting, utilizing their wings and fire.

Forrige Slagmark: A Northern city located under Norway, it holds the largest amount of Dwarves and is a military city, with multiple mines used to forge tools for battle, and metal for guns.

Atlantis: Named for the mythical underwater city, this is the ruins of New Zealand. As you may guess, this is where the Merpeople live for the most part. It is surrounded by a large dome, with the inside being protected and impossible to enter save a few doors on the ocean floor. It is filled with water, and thus impossible to breath in unless you have gills, which makes it not very popular with tourists. It is located underwater as you may have guessed, due to bombs exploding the land holding New Zealand up and thus sending it crashing into the water, killing all its inhabitants.

Erõsen Távol: A city under Hungary, it is the home of the Orcs, and thus under constant attack from all manner of beast. It is mostly a place for Orcs to hide, but its location is known to all other civilized species, not the shadows though, and is attacked quite often.

    Template:

Name: (What we call you obviously, and if your characters have alias', they can be put here beside or in place of their real name.)

Species: (Human, Elf, Dwarf, Merperson, Orc, Dragonfolk.)

Age: (Dwarves, Elves and Dragonfolk live longer. It's only been a few hundred years, so it would probably be around 800 years for the most. Some of the Dwarves and Elves may have formerly been humans and thus would remember what the world used to be, so you may want to add that into your history.)

Gender: (I think you know what this means. And concerning Merpeople, even though they don't have... you know... they still have genders.)

Appearance: (What you look like, which will vary per species.)

Picture: (If you have one, put it here.)

Abilities: (What you can do, if anything. For humans, this would be life skills and such, but for everyone else, it's going to be magic, and a few life skills here and there.)

Weapon: (The weapon(s) you use the most, and what they look like and can do.)

Personality: (What you act like, how you deal with other people, things such as that.)

Bio/History: (Tell us about who you are, what you've done, etc.)

Other: (Anything else you wish to add, like quirks, theme music of you're one of those people, and anything else you think wouldn't fit anywhere else.)

    Rules:

    No Godmodding.

No Powerplaying uless both the person you're doing it to and me approve it.

    No Flaming.

I have the right to not accept your entry, and to kick you at any time if you break the rules on a three strikes you're out system.

If you really payed attention to the rules, post "The darkness shall not prevail!" Above your temp.

No Killing or extremely irreparably harming someone without at least VM/PMing them to ask them if it's okay.

    No Breaking the rules.

No joining and then not posting, we need active people, so tell me if you have to leave for a while and tell someone in this who you trust what to do with your character.

Must make literate posts, and no one line posts. They don't have to be that long, but a fair amount of text in each post would be appreciated. One mid sized paragraph at the least.

Romance is not encouraged nor discouraged, you're free to have it if you want it, but you don't have to have it. If you do, try and keep it PG-13 for the most part, and exceptions have to be worked out with me if you really want a certain part of the story to be M.

Violence can be as gory as you want, but it's not encouraged. But if you want it to be really violent, think Mortal Kombat. You know, rip out the guy's heart and eat it or something. And that's if you really want some violence in here to liven things up and give the FCC a big screw you.

Literacy please. I don't want to have to deal with people who make posts with little to no knowledge of grammar, spelling, or anything else of the like.

Okay then, if you want to help out, I'll accept Five people to be Managers when I'm not around, or just offline. Meaning, they have the authority to remove someone who commits three offenses, they will further the story to the best of their ability, and they will consult with me on the plot and any major advances.

Must be experience Roleplayer, trustworthy, frequent poster and good at making interesting characters, you know, to take the manager position.
