Song Based RPs

    So, of late, I've been listening to music way more than most people should and have, inevitably, been trying to pry through the lyrics to several songs. In hand with this, I've also found that I've been attempting to decipher some songs to the point of being able to create a (semi) tangible RP plot out of them. I was wondering, as of now, two different thoughts on this:

    1. Were this to be done, would it be considered an Original RP, using music as an inspiration, or would the song itself be enough backbone for such an RP to be considered 'Canon'?

    And

    2. Are there any others who might be willing to aid me in tackling such a feat? I doubt that it's actually been done by many people. Bear in mind, I speak not of simply creating an RP, and giving it a musical number for a theme. I literally mean interpreting lyrics into a story and making something out of them.

    My answer to both of these is it depends on the song. There are songs based on some fiction. So those songs, if used, would probably fall into Canon. And sure I'll help, depending what what song it is.

    Right now, Metropolis Pt. 1 The Miracle and The Sleeper by Dream Theater is my ambition. I feel like if a legit prose story could be extracted from the lyrics, or even just a world under a circumstance, an RP with potential could be made. Here's the song (w/lyrics in description):

    I have done this many times in the past.

    1.) There's no worries, it depends on the story itself. For instance I'll use my two new ones both stories created from songs. It Ends Tonight- All-American Rejects, I was able to create a KH RP out of it adding my own twist. Then for Stars and Boulevard-Augasta, I wrote Life in the Shadows, the story line being an original though. So it depends on the story.

    However some RP's will die from songs if not written out popular or if not a whole lot of people are interested in it. I wrote a RP after the song Hotel California and wrote it when I was going through a lot so it wasn't the best it could. Never the less a RP was made, just we didn't even get far enough to check into the hotel.

    2.) I'd be willing to help you out just send me a link of songs tell me if you want original or canon. So PM/ VM me.

    Well, the song I'm currently trying to work around, though right now it's only a loose one, is the one that i just posted. I've got a few ideas as to what could be an RP, that might actually be something a bit different compared to what has been done.
