why were kairi and riku on the island that night?
why was kairi in the secrete place at the base of the tree?

I believe that the truth is found in the meaning of kairis and rikus names.

    Diving Deep into Water Meanings

The symbolism of water has a universal undertone of purity and fertility. Symbolically, it is often viewed as the source of life itself as we see evidence in countless creation myths in which life emerges from primordial waters.

Interestingly, we are all made of water, and so we can liken many of these myths and allegories to our own existence (the macrocosm mirroring the microcosm and vice versa). Further, we can incorporate symbolism of circulation, life, cohesion and birth by associating the creative waters of the earth with the fluids found in our own body (i.e., blood).

In Taoist tradition, water is considered an aspect of wisdom. The concept here is that water takes on the form in which it is held and moves in the path of least resistance. Here the symbolic meaning of water speaks of a higher wisdom we may all aspire to mimic.

(the higher wisdom riku thanked kairi for)

The ever-observant ancient greeks understood the power of transition water holds. From liquid, to solid, to vapor - water is the epitomal symbol for metamorphosis and philosophical recycling.

water is a symbol for transition because all of us are birthed from our mothers water and that's why our mothers water breaks. its symbolic for a portal because the baby is born through the portal of water from the world of darkness into the world of light

the portal is out in the water
maybe this is why kairi was at the door in the secret place.

Because kairi is the feminine aspect of the trinity she represents fertility and the creative life forces as well as death and rebirth because she is the female who gives birth from the black womb or the "dive to the heart"

    Aqua/kairi
Historically, serpents and snakes represent fertility or a creative life force. As snakes shed their skin through sloughing, they are symbols of rebirth, transformation, immortality, and healing.[7] The ouroboros is a symbol of eternity and continual renewal of life.
In India, snake cults or cults of the spirit of the snake are connected with the symbolism of the waters of the sea. Snakes are guardians of the springs of life and of immortality, and also of those superior riches of the spirit that are symbolized by hidden treasure (17). As regards the West, Bayleyhas suggested that the snake, since its sinuous shape is similar to that of waves, may be a symbol of the wisdom of the deeps

In The Women’s Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets (1983 ), Barbara Walker points out that practically every culture has a snake in its mythology, and most often it is seen as a symbol of wisdom, healing, initiation, and secret knowledge, or it is associated with eternal life and ongoing renewal. Snake is the archetypal symbol of the Great Mother Goddess, incarnate in one of her most universal forms. It is also a symbol of the Kundalini Shakti energy, the cosmic feminine energy that ignites and fuels our spiritual awakening process. Kundalini is a Sanskrit word meaning “coiled up,"

The Pythagorean mystics worshipped the pentacle or pentagram, a pentacle which is written or drawn, because it was based on the symbol of the Goddess Kore, frequently thought represented by the apple core. The mystics called this symbol Pentalpha. The symbol meant "life" or "health." The fivepoint star has also been known as the star of Isis, or of Isis' underground twin Nephthys. To the Egyptians the star represented the underground womb.
In most Pagan and Witchcraft traditions it symbolizes the element Earth. The pentagram, the five-pointed star image with its lines often interlaced, is typically enclosed within a circle; and thus, in most traditions, is a symbol of protection. The star is upright, having the single point on top, the ascended position. The top point represents true spirit; or the Goddess, the other four points symbolize the elements of creation: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. The star, as a whole, symbolizes the spirit bringing the elements into natural harmony, the opposite of chaos; a concept taught by Empedocles, ca. 475 BC

it is a fertility symbol and that's why selphie says that the idea of sharing a paopu fruit is romantic. connecting the lives of two forever suggest the production of life
    from the act of sex.

I think they give you a clue to this in the fact that every time sora comes out of the dive to the heart of the womb, the first person he always see is kairi.

the primordial mound that pierces the water of the primordial abyss, sex magic.

he gestures to sora cum as the wave reaches its climax
the waves over takes them and sora is lost in the dark abyss.

sora (the seaman or rikus offspring) is carried up the dark tunnel of the birth canal and then is finally birthed

and who does he see on the shore?

now remember that thing we heard about the closer you get to the light the bigger your shadow becomes?
remember kairi is a being of pure light so, emerging from the water of the abyss to see kairi on the shore as sora makes he way over to her, something strange happens.

he falls back into the darkness again. kairi is also there when he wakes up but the dive to the heart in KH1 is showing us what is going to happen to sora when he falls into darkness in order to give kairi back her heart.
this is his baptism or his being born again.

the primordial mound with its 3 pillars.
    the father, mother and son.
the piercing of the primordial goddess of the abyss
    [IMG]

and that's why sora travels down the tunnel of the goddess at her secrete place and becomes one with her there because it is the seaman making its way to fertilize and egg.

I can't tell if this is trolling or a legitimate attempt at analysis. In any case I got totally lost about half way through, and what I did get didn't seem to have anything to do with the topic the thread is supposed to be about, based on the title. Keeping in mind that these characters are like 14, I doubt there was ever any intention by the game developers of suggesting that any of these characters are having sex, but if any two of them were, given their onscreen chemistry, I'd put my money on Sora and Riku before I'd put it on anyone and Kairi.

Still, this thread is the first one on this site to make me smile in a good long while, so thank you for posting it in all its nonsensical glory.
