Life in the Shadows

    A long time ago, Government was sinking money into a project to create super humans to assist them in World War I. The project was never finished in time and was ready for World War II, but due to the next generation that it worked on, they were to power hungry to listen to government, so their powers were removed. The experiments seperated into two seperate groups, one group that was used for piece but still wanted to get their powers back know as 'Knights', the other to get revenge on government and to take over the world with their powers known as 'Shadows'. However both groups disappeared after many, many years.


    In the year 2000, with the change of the centurary normal humans who were descends of the power humans gained their own powers. Some of the older ones started recieving their powers earlier, but didn't realize it. Now though all the powers are popping up, the two organizations are coming back and are at war. The Knights are out to helping human kind in secret identities almost like super heroes; The Shadows are going after the human race, killing many inocent people as they try to gain their ultimate goal of taking over the world.


    Today government is going to do something about it by slowly killing off ALL super humans. The Knights agree to leave the cities and countries by moving to a secret under water home, however The Shadows refuse and have just gone into hiding avoiding government.

    The sea, it's a tranquil place. A popular place to escape and go on vacation, just to escape everything. The calming tides moving in and out, to other's though it's a constant reminder of life, how they can't truly live it.

    Marcus stood in the main room in the cave staring at different computer screens monitoring the city. He scanned over all of the screens before finally blinking and falling back into his chairs. "Marcus." Marcus turned around and saw Shadow(Roy) come walking in. Shadow is Marcus's father a long with his teacher. He's been around the entire time from the start of the experiments that destroyed their lives and are causing many people to get hurt. "You really should take a break." Shadow told him. "You should really be getting some rest." Marcus glanced over at his father as he walked in.

    "You forget that I don't sleep. Plus there's no point except wake up tomorrow to work with Nicole and the others. Just to stay in these underwater caves, training." Shadow complained. "Besides, I'm your father." He finished it off when Marcus stood up. He sighed and nodded. "You want to take watch then?" He asked. "I will." Shadow told him. "Wake me if something comes up." Marcus said as he left the cavern and walk down the hall of the caves. It was somewhat modern. Stone tile floors, with cave walls. Modern lights were on the ceiling, turned off due to the hour with simple lights along the floor lighting the path. He came to the end of the hall as the door automatically opened to a large living center. It was a large bridge accross a large flat area of gyms, training courses, and more. A cafeteria, and a large kitchen were also present. A large libary was in an enclosed area of glass with a sitting lounge. In the far corner was a large infermery. On the one wall was thick thick glass viewing the ocean floor. The lights were all out to not draw much attention.

    Marcus stopped on the bridge at the elevator and looked down hearing something, he couldn't see who it was, until he saw a door move. A door leading to the stairs that led to the rooms. Marcus quickly ran accross the bridge as the automatic door opened for him and he ran down the hall. Every 20 feet there was a door on both side marking the rooms. He finally saw who it was obviously having troubles opening their door.

    "Isn't it a little late to be up, Lunar?" Marcus stopped at the young lady who was struggling with her door. "Jet Black." She said surprised. "Nicole, why are you up at this late of the hour?" He asked her. She looked at him and sighed. "I have no reason." She told him. "Get some rest Nicole, you know you have training with Shadow tomorrow, I don't want to see you up again." Marcus told her. Nicole nodded understanding.

    In New York City, in a secret government labratory, a young women was up in the lab looking over files. She was looking at files dating back to 1912. They were secret FBI files, very top secret that no one knew what it was about until 2000 when what was in the files came about.

    Maryann is a researcher in S.H.O.T. A top secret government group out to eliminate super humans to protect the human race. Her job was to figure out a way to permanently remove the genes of Super Humans and maybe any genes floating dormant in other people. She joined S.H.O.T because of her sister being killed by a super human. No one knew exactly how her sister died, but she had a good idea who killed her.

    "Grargh!" A young man yelled when he kept throwing fire balls in an alley "as training" many buildings started to catch on fire as he threw the fireballs. He could hear people noticing him but he didn't care. It wasn't until a few minutes later did he hear fire trucks and police. The man grinned as his whole form turned into fire. "Time to get to the chopper." He said as he used his body like a rocket and blasted off.

    He soon landed later in the yard of an abandoned warehouse. He walked inside noticing the many Shadow Super humans. He finally stopped when he came to a rope hanging down from the ceiling. He climbed up the rope and came to the small landing with a matress, blanket, and pillow on it. He threw his body on the matress and stared at the high warehouse ceiling at a few bats that flew around.

    His name is Robert, he goes by Blaze because girls in highschool thought he was hot. Little did they know how hot he truly was when he gained super powers containing control over fire. He layed in his bed and started tossing a fire ball and catching it in his hand, not burning his skin at all.​

    Alex had been sitting in the one room in the warehouse that the Shadows called there base. This room was his bedroom but also his office. He would usually discuss plans and ideas with his brother Vincent here. However it was rare that another member of the Shadows was allowed entry.

    Alex was in a pretty bad mood tonight. Partly because he was extremely bored. But mostly it was that his brother had been gone for over to days now. He had told Alex that he was going to find another super human that had shown up and was going to bring him to the Shadows. (Ill be making two new characters soon). Alex was messing around with a deck of cards he had when he saw Blaze come back from what ever trouble he had been causing.

    "I'm tired of waiting." Alex said softly to himself. Locking the door to his room he used a second door that lead to a garage of sorts which held several beautiful vehicles. Most of which had been stolen, but each was modified so that it could be effectively good in a fight or if you just wanted to travel in something good looking. Alex walked to the back wall grabbing a key of off one of the hooks and then walked to the other side of the garage. There, were he left it was his motorbike. The paint was pitch black but it had a dragon detail going along its side. Most vehicles were open to whoever wanted to use them and when. Except this, this bike was only for Alex. Alex hopped on and put the key in the ignition, starting it he could hear the engine roar to life. And with that Alex took off for the city.

    "Come now, your just annoying me now" Vince said as he dodged another one of those minions the new super human seemed to be able to summon. "If you don't like it then back off!" He shouted back. "Now, now, No need to be rude" Vince smiled as he continued his pursuit, "I only want to talk." "Talk?!. Then why the hell did you attack me!" The man shouted back. "I was curious to see what your powers were." Vince answered simply. "How do I know I can trust you?!" He shouted again. "Because I haven't killed you yet" Vince said using his power to appear in front of the man causing him to crash into him which made him fall to the floor. "Who are you?" The man asked from the ground. "I am Vincent Reid" Vince said offering the man a hand. "My brother, Alexander Reid is the leader of a small group of other people like you and I. We're fighting for a world in which we can be free. And not have to hide in the shadows like some filthy rodent. So, what say you to coming with me and checking us out for yourself, you can decided if you like us or not, then you can make your decision." The man took Vince's hand and stood up. "So if I decide I don't want to join you I can just leave and be on my way?" He asked. Vince nodded without saying anything. "Alright then, I'll come with you. But were are we going." "You will see when we get there" Vince said as he lead the man back the way they had been running.

    "You're still up?" Maryann turned around to see her boss come walking in as he sat down in the chair next to her and was looking at her notes. "Working on the formula?" Brian asked her. "Yes, sir." She told him. "It's kind of difficult, I don't have a clean, good sample of DNA from the super humans. Everytime we get to one, it ends up escaping." Maryann explained to him. He smiled and nodded understanding what she meant. "I know, I'd like to actually capture one so we could do some tests on it." Brian told her standing up and walking over to the window overlooking the city. "We just can't seem to get them." He told her as he watched a few buildings going up in fire accross town. He knew about her sister so he closed the blinds. "How about you head to your apartment though and get some rest, maybe we'll have something in the morning, there's people out there right now." Brian told her. "Alright, thank you sir." Maryann told him as she gathered up her stuff and walked out the door and got in the elevator.

    Maryann exited the building and started going down the street and got to her apartment building and went inside before she could see smoke coming from an alley way. She quickly pulled out her gun and ran to the side of the building. "Super human!" She yelled when she saw it was just a homeless person who had made a fire to keep warm. She lowered her gun and sighed and walked off as the homeless man just stared at her when she walked off. It's been hard on Maryann though, she was so close, her sister's revenge would be coming soon, it just had to.


    Brian walked over to her notes and read over them. He knew she was real close, just a few more variables needed filled in on her formula to create a chemical. This chemical would be submitted into the air all over the world, unaffected to humans but is to the gene in superhumans. Definately causing thier powers to be removed, maybe even kill them. He didn't matter though, they weren't human, they had a completely different gene make up that is similar to humans.


    Blaze sat up when he heard his leaders motorcycle outside. He knew everyone else did because everyone stopped fighting each other, or playing cards, etc. He went down to the ground floor and noticed a few of the younger ones in the Shadows, kids of members in the Shadow, being trained to become powerful warriors to take over the world. He watched them for a while leaning against the beam holding up his platform.


    Marcus walked back into the control room as he started walking past the window for the main area he could see some sunlight coming through the water, dawn was waking up. Marcus walked in the control room is father looking at a screen up close. "What is it?" Marcus asked. "They're getting another one unless we stop them." Shadow said. "I'll go." Marcus said when he closed his eyes and his body disaappeared but a shadow was on the ground. It quickly moved out into the water and above land avoiding the bits of sunlight starting to show up. He finally got to where he needed to be and noticed the two super humans talking and fighting. One he recognized as Vince, the brother of the leader in the Shadows, the other must have been someone they were trying to recuit. Marcus watched as they started to run off. "Not so fast Vince." Marcus yelled stepping out in the opening looking at the two escaping.

    "Ah, Marcus" Vince said with a smile. "I was wondering when you pesky knights would show up. Well, you've got me" Vince said putting his hands in the air like you would surrendering to the police. "But what will you do?. You should know by now that you can't take me by yourself old man." He said putting his hands down again and walking behind his new recruit. "I mean there are two of us, and one of you" He said putting his arm around the shoulder of the new guy. "By the way, what's your name?" Vince asked laughing. "I'm Kane" He answered. "Who's that?" He asked shaking Vincent's arm from his shoulder. "That my friend, is Marcus...well, I don't know his last name. But he is the leader of the Knights. He would rather live in a life of seclusion then in the open were we rightfully belong. He would rather fight for the filthy human race that despises and wishes to see us gone. And why? 'Because its the right thing to do'" Vince said the last part mockingly. "Now Marcus, to be fair I haven't done anything wrong, and neither has my friend here. So we will be on our way." Vince said walking past Marcus.

    Alex had just arrived into the city when the sun rose. The city was busily coming to life, people heading off to school and work. "Pathetic" Alex said to himself. "These people don't realize how fragile there little lives are. One explosion and it will effect most people here for many years to come, weather physically, or mentally. But were is the fun in that" Alex said coming up to a café. "I'll have a smoothie to go" Alex said without looking at the woman behind the counter. "Coming up sir" She said. Alex walked outside the doorway of the shot. Now, what trouble can I get into He thought to himself. "An armoured truck?, Could be a little entertaining."

    "I don't think so." Marcus said Throwing a trash can infront of where he was walking off to. "And you know that's not fully true. We're not crimminals. We're working to live in peace, all you're doing is trying to make humans slaves when they can't defend themselves." Marcus yelled over him. "And to you dirty rodents, it's Jet, not Marcus." Marcus said to him. 'Marcus! Get out of there right now.' Shadow's voice was in his head.

    Shadow stood in the watch area and noticed the S.H.O.T. members getting ready to investigate down the alley Marcus was in. 'Ignore them, and just get out of there.' Shadow's voice said again in Marcus's head.

    Marcus looked over at Vince. "I'll leave when I finish him." Marcus finally said. He stepped forward again and got ready to fight Vince.

    Shadow stoodthere mad and heard the door and saw Nicole come walking in. "I'm ready for training." Nicole said. "Cool, we're going to do hands on." Shadow said when he hit the alarm saying that everyone can get up. "Now come on, Lunar!" Shadow said when he lept toward Nicole. "This can't be good." Nicole said when he reached her a shadow formed and moved quickly accross the ground and out of the hideout. Soon they reached there. "Marcus, we need to get out of here now!" Shadow said. "Why'd did you and Lunar come?" Marcus asked angry. "Lunar, take care of him." Shadow said. "But, what about Vince?" Nicole asked.

    "My apologies o great and majestic 'Jet'" Vince mocked once his path was blocked. "But really, a dumpster?. Isn't that below even you?" He said with more mockery in his voice. Just then Lunar and an older man showed up. Vince assumed it was the knights veteran. "But come now. Three on two?. Seems a little unfair does it not?. Kain, why not use your power to turn the numbers in out favour a little." Kain raised his hands palms facing the ground, his fingers stretched out. There were five puffs of smoke, and when they cleared there stood a faceless being no bigger than a child. Each held in there had a short sword. "There more I summon the weaker they are" Kain said only loud enough for Vince to hear. "Don't worry, there just as distraction." Vince said a smile spreading across his face. Vince suddenly lunged at Marcus fists in the air. Marcus stood ready to counter Vincent's attack but then he dissapeard. A second later he appeared behind Marcus and hit him with a power kick to the back of his leg. Marcus turned to counter Vince but he was gone. Then Kain's five minions attacked the Knights veteran and Lunar. "Your getting slow old man" Vincent mocked as he appeared beside Kain again. "I'm getting tired of your damn games!" Marcus said running at Vincent. Unfortunately this took Vincent by surprise and Marcus hit him with such force that it sent him flying into the dumpster, the dumpster flew back crashing to the ground and Vincent's body fell behind it. There was an indent were Vince's body had met the bin. Kain ran and jumped behind the the bit to where Vincent lay limp. "Hahahaha" Vincent laughed as he hauled his body back to its upright position. "You've got some punch in you yet old man" Vince laughed as he popped his right arm back into its socket. "However I'm afraid that we must part ways. But fear not dear friend. We will meet again." Vince said pushing the bin back towards Marcus. Marcus simply stopped it with his foot, but when he looked up again Vince and Kain were gone.

    "Who were they?" Kain asked Vince as they approached a parking complex. "I told you." Vince said pulling a set of keys from his pocket. "The guy who called himself Jet. He is the leader of the Knights. They wish to live a life of seclusion in the ocean. The old man you saw. I'm unsure what his name is. This is my first encounter with him, but my guess is he is the veteran member of the Knights. He would act as a teacher to new knights." "Does the Shadows have a veteran?" Kain interrupted. "Not exactly." Vince began. "I told you my brother, Alex, the leader of the Shadows. He would name me as the veteran. But as for someone as old and experienced as any other no." "And what about that girl?" Kain asked. "That brat?" Vince said stopping at a car. "That's Lunar, she's Jet's 'sidekick'." Vince got into the drivers seat of the car, and gestured for Kain to get in. "This is a pretty fancy car you've got here." We have some for you if you like" "Haha, Sounds good" Kain laughed finally relaxing a little.

    "Well, that was interesting" Alex said as he walked away from the armoured van that was now on its side on fire ready to explode any minute. "Didn't get to bad an investment either" He said slinging the bag of newly acquired money across his back. Alex had walked back into the café. "I've decided against that smoothie." Alex said walking back out. I wonder if Vincent's back Alex thought getting on his bike and beginning the journey home.

    Nicole crossed her arms as she was able to destroy the illusions. "Nicely, now I'm sure S.H.O.T. will be here soon due to the commosion. So let's get going." Shadow stated when he extended his cloack and shadows came out and flew around Marcus and Nicole. Soon they appeared back in the head quarters. Marcus was angry and took in a breath before walking over to the intercom. "Attention everyone, it's 6am,time to get up. If you're in group A, quests up to the real world will start soon." Marcus announced.

    "Lunar, let's go start your training." Shadow said. Shadow then disappeared. Nicole just sighed. "I'm guessing he's in the dark training room." Nicole said making her way out. When she got to the bridge, the entire room echoed like the mall. She looked down over the railing. Looking down on the floor, there were different rooms like library, training room, cafes, restarants, gyms, even schools. Many people were walking around. Nicole walked over to the elevator and it started to go down and she stepped out at the paths becoming crowded. To her path there was a large area and play ground infront of it acting like the elementary school. She saw many kids running around as their parents dropped them off there. She smiled and started towards the dark training room.

    Inside the underwater base of The Knights was Leon Terch, a 19-year-old with a large grin over his face. He had sweat beading down his face and his muscles were pumping hard. He had been training for at least three hours straight by pure rigorous, non stop, hardcore sparring with Dareon Teb, another 19-year-old. Both had finally agreed on something in a very long time and were sparring each other with only footpads, headgear, and gloves that covered their bare knuckles. They both wore long trunks that went over their knees. Leon wore white while Dareon wore black. Like their trunks, their fighting gear was equally colored as their trunks. With his hands prompted on his knees and back bent, Leon kept an eye on Dareon and grinned, tasting the salty sweat that drenched his face, "So," he began breathed heavily, "You getting tired yet?"

    Dareon, who was frowning, was standing up straight with his hands up, ready to go again, "Shut up and spar already."
    Leon stood up, bent backwards slightly and cracked his back loudly, "Alright," he began.
    Dareon got ready and got into his stance.
    "Steady..." Leon hopped on his feet and got into stance, shuffling and shifting stances constantly.
    Dareon's body tensed up and got ready for an assault.
    "Go!" Leon rushed in at him with a right straight aimed for his face.

    Blocking the punch, Dareon caught his opponent's right arm and tried to push it aside so he could get him into a lock but was stopped by Leon's incoming left fist that slammed into ribs. Dareon pushed him away and shuffled his feet. Leon ran forward, yelling and raising his right fist again. "You shouldn't rush in like that, moron!" Dareon's arm caught Leon's and he rotated into him, thrusting an elbow into his stomach and flipping him over his back. Leon met the ring's floor with a loud thump and Dareon came down on him with falling knee. Leon twisted his body up and rolled out of the way. As he did this he slapped his palms down on the ground and his lower body whipped up and he came into a perfect handstand. Taking his arms and moving them in powerful counterclockwise spins, his body spun about and he used his legs like the blades of a helicopter to slash out at Dareon. Dareon caught two blows to the head before sidestepping. Leon saw this out of the corner of his eye and brought his right leg swinging in a crescent-like manner and his body, through force of his centripetal force lifted him off of the ground into a spinning flip. His right leg kept straight as his force began to get stronger as he brought it down like an axe towards Dareon's head. Dareon, in quick succession, brought up both of his forearms and raised them above his head. His bones shook as the impact of Leon's solid leg brought Dareon down to his knees by sheer force.

    However, As Dareon went down he shot his arms up and grabbed Leon's leg and shot his right knee out and hit him in the chest. Releasing his opponent's leg, Leon flew a few inches away from him and he landed on his back. Leon got up and breathed heavily, holding his chest, "Crap almost got you,"

    Dareon scoffed and gave him a thumbs down, "Not a chance."

    It was in the afternoon when Tyro heard the sound of a gun shot, it scared him to death but really it was the tv he forgot to shut it off before he went to bed. "Well that's embarrassing," He muttered to himself. He changed and got dressed for the day. It was a warm day out and he was wearing some hot clothes, kids stopped what they were doing and stared him down, but he didn't care what they thought of him any ways. He walked past a donuts store, there was young shadows training and learning new moves.

    "I better be off to see the leader and see how things are going, I know hes cranky when Im late on things," so he continued to walk.

    "Here we are." Kain said as Vince pulled into what seemed like an average neighbour hood. "Its the last house on the end of the road there." Kain said pointing to an even more average looking house. It was a red brick house. Had a front lawn, the grass had recently been mown.

    "You live here?" Vince asked pulling the car up to the curb. Looking around he saw that children were giving them odd looks, while parents called them in and proceeded to close and lock the doors. "Well, they seem friendly." Vince said getting out the car followed by Kain. "Come on. We'll go in through the back". Vince followed Kain through a side gate that looked like it had been installed after the original build. "Trying to keep someone out?" Vince said jokingly. "Something like that" Kain said with a smile. "This place looks pretty normal. I mean, except the modifications to reinforce the house this place seems pretty...average. How did you live in the open so long without being found out by the government?" Vince asked intrigued. Kain was silent for a couple of minutes. Vince just stood the waiting patiently. "...I'd like to tell you it was difficult, and that iv had to move around alot." Kain said, he went silent again. "But?" Vince asked intrigued. "But the truth is..I didn't have to." Kain finally said. There was a long silence after this was said. Kain eventually looked at Vince, his face expressionless. Kain could tell that Vince wanted him to tell him more. "I wasn't born with the super-human gene." Kain said leaning against the counter. He waited to see if Vince would say something. "I was a test subject at a research facility set up by the government. They wanted to see if they could make there own super-human with the gene of another. We had captured one of your kind, our kind before either the knights or the shadows had a chance to influence them. The government experimented on him. Trying to find out if there were any way to destroy the super-human gene. However in the process the super-human died, some of the governors felt this was acceptable but other felt they would have less resistance if the 'cure' just got rid of your powers rather than killing you." "Were is this facility?" Vince asked finally saying something. "Its in the city.. Its has a dairy business as a front. I could point it out when we get there." Kain said hoping that Vince wouldn't be annoyed about the face that he wasn't a true super-human. There was another long silence and Kain began to feel uncomfortable. "Alright, get you stuff and then we'll head back to the base" Vincent said walking out of the kitchen were they had come in and heading to the living room. "You have cable right?" Vince asked turning on the tv. Kain smiled, "Yeah, I have cable." Kain walked up stairs and took a standered military duffel bag out of the closet. He began shoving cloths into it. When it was pretty much full he took a few personal items and stuck them in. Then he walked back over to the closet. He reached back and pushed on a lever. Something clicked and the back of the closet swung open revealing a secret room. Kain walked in and lights turned on as he entered. The room was small but there was enough weapons to man a small army. Kain grabbed a pistol and some ammo, he put on a chest holster and placed the pistol on it. He took some extra magazines and placed them on the in there various places on it. He put his jacket back on and walked to the end of the room. There was a safe on the wall in front of him. Kain entered in a code and the safe slowly opened revealing a large sum of money. Kain shoved past the money and reached for something in the back. When his hands came out they were holding a sword. "Nice" Vince said coming into the room. "It was the super-human who's genetic code I was given." Kain told him. "I'm not sure why I took it, I felt drawn to it for some reason." "Maybe it has some power to it." Vince commented. "Maybe." Kain said admiring the sword in his hands. "Anyway, we have company" Vince said walking back into the bedroom. Kain followed through. "What do you mean.?" He asked. Vince simply pointed to the window, take a look for yourself." Kain walked to the window and saw that law enforcement had arrived. Not your average cops. But several what he guessed were F.B.I dressed in full riot gear. Several were trying to get into Vincent's car but this didn't seem to bother him. "I'm guessing one of your lovely neighbours told them we were here. But we have to leave." "Alright" Kain said putting the sword on his back with a sling. "What's the plan?." he asked. "Well, I was thinking we walk outside, get in the car and drive off." "Hahaha" Kain laughed. "That easy huh?" He said still laughing." Vince smiled. "Well, when your as amazing as us, yeah." Vince said jokingly. "Anyway, I'll see you out there" He said. "What do you me..." Kain was saying until he realized that Vince was no longer in the room with him. He looked out the window and saw Vince walking towards the car coming from behind the police. "Well, guess I better go out and join him." Kain said as he walked down the stairs.

    Kain walked out the front door and suddenly had over twenty guns pointed at him. "Put the weapon down and put your hands in the air!" Kain was ordered. "And that is why you never use the front door" Kain laughed to himself.

    "Excuse me officer." Vince said approaching one of the armoured men at the back "What's happening here?" He asked. "We've evacuated the area. We got a hint that the second in command of the Shadows was here. Civilians are not allowed here please vacate the area." The man said without looking at him." "Vacate the area?" Vince said sarcasticly. "But I want my car." This statement made the man turn around. "Here he i..." The man was cut off when Vincent punched him in the gut making the crumple to the floor. It was common knowledge that the super-humans did not only have there powers. But they were all considerably stronger than any human. And most of them could be shot with an average gun and have nothing happen to them. Vince had gotten the attention of some of the men at the back and they opened fire. Kain took this opportunity to summon some of his faceless minions and have them attack. They quickly set to work killing the men. Vince had ripped a car door from one of the armoured vehicles and was using it as a shield to take the volley of bullets that were being fired at him. When one of Kain's minions attacked a man close to them they all turned there fire on the minion. Vince threw the door up catching it by the bottom and swung it like a frisbee hitting one of the men square in the chest. "Well, I guess that's all of them" Vince said taking the keys out of his pocket and unlocking the car.

    Nicole walked down the hall and into a hallway. She walked down the hall glancing in each window at people training. she noticed some boys fighting around her age. She kept walking down till she stopped at a door and glance at the door and the small window. A large white room and Shadow was floating in the air meditating. Nicole opened the door and walked in. "Took you long enough." Shadow spoke his eyes still closed as he slowly stood up and landed on the ground before opening his eyes. "Sorry..." Nicole said.

    "First off, start meditating and then we'll start training." Shadow said. Nicole nodded and sat down on the ground crossing her legs and closing her eyes to start meditating.

    Nicole opened her eyes and landed and felt so much more focussed. She looked around though, she was no longer in a plain whute room, she was in a room surrounded by shadows and a dark black room. She looked in the corner and saw Shadow's outline before he moved and disappaeared down into the ground. "What am I suppose to do it?" Nicole called out. "Fight with your senses." Shadow's voice echoed through out the room. Nicole looked around before realising how when she looked down and was thrown up in the air. She quickly flipped in the air and landed on the ground. She snapped her fingers and her normal clothes changed into her super uniform.

    For the longest time Nicole had kept getting hit and dodging moves. She finally started getting the hang of it and found Shadow and started fighting him but they were cut short. "Lunar, Shadow, please report to commandment." Jet Black's name came accross the intercom. Nicole stopped and saw Shadow rise from the gruond and the room return to normal. Nicole looked over at Shadow before exiting the room to go to the command post.

    Maryann woke up the next morning and got dressed for work before receieving a phone call. "Maryann" Her boss spoke through the phone. "We found some." He said. Maryann nodded knowing he wouldn't know she was. "Sir..." She said getting all the information.

    An hour later she was wearing bullet proof vest and was armed and ready pulling up into one of the nicest neighborhoods in New York City. She pulled up in her car and parked down the street and saw all the FBI agents and SWAT Team, along with S.H.O.T's private team. She soon found a partner of her's, Alesky. "So what do we have?" Maryann walked up to him. "Some neighbors recognized the one being one of the shadows, with further research, we've discovered it's the second of command in there of the shadows." Alesky explained. Maryann nodded. "And the other?" She asked. "A science project that government did right when the super humans were beginning to show up, but just like the first time it was done, the project got mad." Alesky explained handing her a file. She opened up the file. "Number 14295, Kain, interesting name." Maryann said when some commotion was heard by some FBI agents as a regular citizen was walking up to his car.

    Nicole and Shadow entered the command post. "You two ready to go on a secret mission. Just you two. I need you to investigate what is happening there." Marcus said to the two. "Ok, I can do that." Nicole said. "Becareful, Lunar. This isn't one to be noticed, if not you're in trouble." Marcus told her. Nicole sighed and nodded. "So get going." Marcus told them. Shadow nodded and wrapped his cape around him and Nicole as they went down in the ground and a shadow went sliding past.

    They came up on a small hill under the tree. He came up slowly looking down on the whole event. Lunar stayed down and glanced at all the government officials. Swat, FBI, and S.H.O.T., oh my.

    "Hm... Let's see. He's the age of fifety-one. His name was Mr. Jason Wright. Was killed in some kind of gang fight that the public assumed. This other case file is also on Mr. Thomas Fartilly. Age thirty-two. Presumed to have committed suicide by drinking poison in a alleyway between two business buildings. That's real strange. Sad to see that this has super humans behind all of this." Pridella was in her office working on several cases based on super human crime activities. "Paper work and training. Paper work and training. This is too much for me." Pridella then buzzed in and called in one of her secretaries. "Tell Maryann to come to the training room once she gets done with what's she's doing. I need her to come with me to the Carnegie Halls when she gets done." Pridella then started to step away from her desk and grabbed her weapons as she was starting to prepare herself through improving her shooting accuracy.

    "Maryann." Maryann heard her name being called but she was to busy getting her bullet proof vest and everything on and loading her gun. She stood up and looked at the man running over to her. "Pridella's secretary ccalled and wants to see you." The man said. 'Pridella of all people, why is she calling me, I don't work with her, and I'm a lot higher than her in the organization.' Maryann thought to herself. "What does she want, I'm out in the field working." Maryann told him.

    "Why's there so many..." She whispered. 'Time for you to learn to use telepathic communications.' nicole heard Shadow's voicein here head. She nodded. 'If S.H.O.T. is here, you know there's super humans involved, probably from the shadows.' Nicole said when she kept picking up many different thoughts from the humans below when she then saw someone walking up the street. 'Vincent!' Nicole mentally screamed. 'Calm down, I'm right next to you.' nicole heard and looked at Shadow. "Sorry..." She whispered.

    She looked back down through the bushes as the Vince approached the car and all the humans turned there attention just for the new super human to walk out and create tons of minions. They were all starting to fight then. Nicole went to stand up before Shadow held her down. "We have to help them." Nicole said struggling when she was pinned to the ground. "S.H.O.T. is down there Lunar, we can't risk it, not yet at least." Shadow said to her.

    Maryann saw the commotion and got ready to attack and she saw Kain show up and she aimed at him, but then a bunch of minions showed up. "Get down." She heard men called. She quickly slid under and armored truck and looked out from underneith it. She saw one of them go and rip a door off. She watched the fighting and soon almost everybody there was severly ijured a few she saw dead. She watched as the two began to leave. She grabbed out a special bullet, a tranquilizer she made from the simplest of the Super Human DNA she could get her hands on. She aimed it at Vincent and show him square in the neck. Soon enough she knew he's fall to sleep. She saw the second one and went to fire but recognized him from secret reports she cracked into.

    He was the one who FBI recently were experementing on to try and recreate the same DNA to learn how to stop them,but in turns they created a powerful super human who escaped not long ago. She grabbed normal bullets and fired it at him but it just missed but she heard someone moan as it hit someone.

    Nicole laid there and saw all of the people injured laying there defenseless. She wanted so badly to get up but she being held down by Shadow. She looked back down then saw something his Vincent and heard the thoughts of someone, a female, but she couldn't decifer the exact thoughts, they were mumbled to her. She saw the women under the one armored car and saw her fire a bullet at the second super human but it missed and the next thing she knew, Shadow was hit in the arm and was mumbling about it. "Shadow!" She yelled forgetting about the situation and knew sure enough the two shadows and the human heard her. She knew now she was in trouble, especially taking note that Shadow was injured.

    Maryann heard the yell and glanced up at the bushes noticing two people there, both of them looked suspictous. She recognized the one, Lunar, the side kick of the super hero Jet Black. She noticed though the girl was much older which made her realised how long the war of humans and super humans have been going on. She saw as the girl stood up and looked down on the ground looking at the two super humans and glancing over at Maryann.

    Time to end this quick, Alesky thought. He ran around two blocks just to sneak up behind the targets. He took out his handgun with his left hand and a elephant traquilzer-filled syringe in his right. Ales was about 25 yards to the left of Kain. "Here goes nothing," he said to himself. He shot five bullets to the minions in the legs to render them immobiles and threw the syringe like a dart aiming for Kain's neck. He shot the sixth specialized bullet behind the syringe so that there would be something to push the tranquilizer in. That bullet was a ball of rubber.

    "Ah... This is turning out to be to much trouble than its worth" Vincent said pulling the tranquillizer out of his neck. Vince turned to was about to kick the armoured truck onto its side so he could punish his attacker when his leg buckled from underneath him. He fell to his knee and had to support himself with his hand to stop himself from falling over completely. He could see the person who had shot him now. "Damn it!" He said gritting his teeth. "What did you put in there!?" He asked annoyed. He threw his body at the truck it shook it but it wasn't strong enough for any real damage. "Kain, get me the hell out of here. I've been injected with something"

    Kain had also been shot with a tranquillizer. Fortunately for him it wasn't the same type as the one Vince had being shot with. The rubber ball had also missed its target and instead hit Kain in the chin. "Damned government!" Kain shouted as he summoned one hundred of his minions. Kain stopped a minute to catch his breath. Many of his minions had already been destroyed by gun fire or close quarters. They may be weak but they were perfect for the distraction he needed. Kain jumped into the car seeing that Kain was already in the back seat. He had pulled out some sort of portable medical kit and was doing something with a syringe. Kain stepped on the gas knocking over some of his minions and crashing through a police car. After awhile of driving Kain looked around. "I don't think any of them followed us." He said to Vince who was still in the back.
    Vice wasn't looking to well. He was sweating a cold sweat and his breathing was uneven. "What the hell did they do to you?" Kain asked looking in the rear view mirror. "The damned government injected some sort of tranquillizer with some super-human dna. What kind of monster experiments on people to make a weapon?" Vince said lying down on the back seat. Kain was awkwardly silent for a couple of minutes. "Were am I driving us to anyway?" Kain asked. "Just drive around for now. I'll get us to head quarters when this damned thing wears off a little more." "You don't trust me?" Kain said sounding a little offended. "The only person I trust is my brother" Vince said straight away. "But I just saved your life?!" Kain said in protest. "Yeah, and?. Your a super-human who was created by the government. What reason do I have to trust you?" Kain abruptly pulled the car over to a stop causing Vince to hit his head against the reinforced window. "Damn it what the hell are you doing!" Vince said anger. "If you don't trust me what point is there in me continuing on with you?!" Kain said sounds just as angry. Vince was quite. "I'll tell you what... You ask me any question you want and I will answer them to the best of my ability's. Will that gain your trust Vincent Reid!" Kain said abruptly.

    "Alright then, Vince eventually said. Were is the government research facility were they created you?"

    Nicole watched as they left but that still left her, with Shadow injured she had no way to escape. "Lunar!" Nicole heard and saw Shadow getting up. "Get down..." He said. She already knew it was to late for that. Nicole looked down at the two humans there.

    Maryann looked at Lunar and part of her was saying don't do it Maryann, don't do it. Maryann however quickly grabbed another tranquilizer and loaded it in her gun and pointed it up at Lunar. She shot it quickly though Lunar saw it and moved her hand to create a force shield to protect herself.

    Nicole had the shield up to protect herself and Shadow of the bullet, but to her surprise it penetrated the shield as if it could defeat her powers which wasn't good at all when it hit in the arm. She yelled from the pain and quickly pulled it out and looked at the little needle, the poison in it though was already gone and she wasn't feeling so well and felt herself collapse into someone's arms, she looked up seeing a stern expression look from Jet Black.


    Marcus stood in the command and saw the situation that went down and saw as Shadow was injured causing Nicole to be all alone. Then he saw Vincent get injured and hit with a tranquilizer and become weak from it and fall over but then saw as the girl S.H.O.T. member loaded her gun with the samething and shot it at Nicole. Quickly as soon as the gun was loaded Marcus was in a shadow form and rushing there as fast as possible. He got there, but it was to late, she was hit he could only just catch her. He looked down at the girl S.H.O.T. member in disgust and hatred before grabbing a hold of the injured Shadow and a weak Nicole and turned into a shadow returning back to HQ.

    Maryann stood there surprised to see Jet Black show up, but it didn't last long as he disappeared. She shook her head part of her was kind of mad because she was sooo close to getting a live super human while another part of her was angry at herself for injuring one of the few good super humans in history and getting an evil glare from the other. Moment like this was what made her job hard, but at the moment she didn't care, she felt like it was a failed mission unable to get her super human.

    Alesky jogged up to Maryann, exhausted. "Ah geez. I really need to get out of the lab more," he wheezed. He saw the disappointment on her face and immediately thought that she thought that the mission's failure was because of him. "Aheheh, this mission wasn't a total failure. At least we know who we're up against," Ales said pretending to be enthusiastic. "Well, uh, I'll go see what I can find." Ales quickly left to get away from Maryann for a moment. Then he saw the rubberband ball that hit Kain's chin; it had a drop of fresh blood on it. He almost dropped the ball on the discovery, but he steadied himself and took out a special syringe to take and keep the blood drop fresh. "Yep, it wasn't a total lost at all," he said to himself and smiled.

    The rubberball hit Kain's chin, but it didn't break the skin and bounced off. It reflected off the ground and hit a pigeon that was watching the fight on the roof. The rubberball may have lost too much momentum to be fatal but it still managed to get a little blood from the pigeon and dropped to the ground. Then Alesky picked it up totally unaware of the mistake.

    OOC: Sorry I didn't realized this was updated and I almost let it died, were ok though, so let's get the show back on the road.

    Marcus was back in HQ and watched as Nicole sweating up a storm and having problems breathing. Shadow walked in his injury wrapped and taken care of and walked next to Marcus and sat down next to him Nicole completely unaware of them there. "I almost lost both of you out there, I shouldn't have sent you two." Marcus said. "Don't be hard on yourself." Shadow told him. Marcus looked up at him and slammed his fist down on the table Nicole was laying on shortly after Nicole coughed some. Shadow put his hand on her forehead and closed his eyes. "She's having a reaction to this." Shadow said. "Meaning?" Marcus asked looking worried. "They must have her weakness in it. We have to get it removed immediately out of her blood stream." Shadow said. "It'll be risky." He continued and looked at Marcus who looked at Nicole. "Do what you got to do." Marcus said standing up. Shadow looked up at him.

    "You care about her a lot, when are you going to tell her?" Shadow asked Marcus who turned around. "I hope never, I'd never be able to face her the same again and I'm sure it could cause a risk in her relationship towards the Knights." Marcus said. Shadow simply shook his head and looked down at the sick looking girl. "I'll take her down to the medics." Shadow said picking her up and turning into a shadow.




    Maryann watched as Alesky picked up the ball. She walked over to him and quickly pulled out her walky. "Sir are you there?" She said in the walky hoping to get a hold of their leader. "We're going to need a bunch of medics up here immediately." Maryann said. She put the walky back on her hip and started up the hill. She moved the bushes and found blood all over the ground, it wasn't just any blood though. "What is this?!" She exclaimed surprise by the discovery and knelt down pulling out a long Q-Tip and plastic bag. She brushed it in the blood. The blood was black and almost like a slime, not real liquid like real human blood. She looked on the leaves and closed her eyes picturing the event. The blood on the leaves was from the girl. She looked at it. It wasn't like the other blood, it was black though too, but not like slime of the other other blood. She took examples of both blood that she found and put them in her pack.

    Maryann walked back down to Alesky who made a discovery as well. "Let's head back to the lab." She said when she heard alarms for ambulance, police, and firetrucks. She walked over to her car and got in. She started driving back to the lab.

    Maryann got back in town and walked into the building and got in the elevator descending downward. Below the building was a secret lab that she did most of her tests. She walked inside. Giant containers of liquid were in the room. Her old partner who went missing used it to recreate a super human hoping to track down the superhumans, the superhuman escaped though and Maryann recognized him as the one at the house. She walked over to a giant safe. It was one of the most secure safes in the world, eye recodnition, DNA test, fingerprint, password, it had it all.

    The safe slowly opened. It was cool inside and inside was a table with a bunch of liquid and bottles on it. She grabbed two containers and put blood sample and some of the liquids in them. She labeled each container and set them on the shelf. She left the safe with a small example of the black slime blood example. She closed up the safe and sat down at her research desk in the lab and stuck it under a microscope attatched to the computer while it started analyzing the data of the blood.
