Life As We Knew It

All righty, this is a really good book, that's almost a series but not. And an RP would be awesome. But I'm preparing you ahead of time. THIS RP IS NOT ANIME OR ANYTHING ELSE. IT IS STRICTLY IRL (In Real Life) and is not at any time related to Japanese origins.
Just felt the need to tell you that. So please don't use anime as an appearance-- Japanese names are allowed, but try not to use that culture too often. I'm not discriminating anyone or trying to be racist, that's just the way this book and RP goes.

All right. So this RP is apocalypse based. For a few months now, professional scientists and astronomers all over the world had been predicting that an asteroid would strike the moon. However, they didn't realize it's deadly consequences. The day that the event happens, the force of the asteroid knocks the moon into closer orbit with earth, causing disastrous apocalyptic events to happen all over the world. Because the moon controls the tide, floods swell into coastal cities and wipe away islands, leaving the world deformed. It also causes volcanic eruptions in various places, and the fallout ashes from these eruptions start to pollute crops. Disease breaks out, and billions die. The moon affects the weather as well. In the summer, the heat grows immensely, then suddenly drops and becomes cold until the next spring. Snow hits as early as August. Overall, the moon's closer orbit has deadly proportions.

A select group of people try to survive in the midsts of New York City, one of the major cities that have been struck by the floods. Food is scarce, along with water and air.

History: Lleu was born and raised in England until he was about 12 years old, when his parents were killed in a car accident, and he went to live with his aunt and uncle in New York City. He has lived there ever since. He works at the local Starbucks, trying to raise money for a scholarship to Juliard.
