Jaden Lowell - Gunslinger with his trusty Chocobo mount.

Personality:

Jaden tends to be very quiet, somber, and solitary, but not to the point of a deadpan. The reason for his quietude though is because he’s always thinking. Jaden is constantly in deep thought, meditating and poring over even the ants of the earth. He is extremely thoughtful and rarely says much because he thinks before he allows words to escape his mouth, always considering the consequences of both his actions and sayings. Because of this, he’s very good at predicting the outcomes of both people’s reactions and sometimes events themselves. Of course, this is all based upon his own intuition and nothing more.

Although Jaden might not show it externally, he cares about the people around him and will always seek them out when he feels they are not in the highest of spirits. He is very sensitive to other people and can tell when something is bothering his friends just by looking at their face or voice. Although he is not forceful by nature, he will not hesitate to pull people aside and ask them if something isn’t right, but at their first denial, he would simply give the other person a small nod before disappearing back into the crowd. He doesn’t like to force people into things. Similarly, he expects that people will also leave him alone and let him be. He likes to take life at his own pace, which tends to be very laid-back and slow.

Jaden is also extremely observant. He drinks everything in with all his senses, be it the people, his environment, or just the events unfolding around him. Not only does he examine the things around himself, but he also remembers them and engraves them in his mind. Ironically, he can recall events precisely and chronologically. He’s a people-watcher and usually the listener in a conversation. Some people grow easily bored or frustrated by the lack of a second party in a conversation while others appreciate his occasional comments because they just need an ear and someone to listen to their troubles.

Jaden is very passive aggressive, making it difficult for people to really pinpoint whether or not he’s upset with them. It will often involve a cold shoulder and he will rarely directly confront the person that he isn’t happy with. To most people’s dismay, Jaden tends to hold grudges. People could swear that he keeps a little book tucked away in his pocket that he records all the different people who have wronged him, along with all the events that they wronged him in. He has a frightfully good memory, nearly photographic. Even in disguise, he can pick people’s appearances apart.

Physical Appearance:

Jaden, perhaps, is not necessarily what one would call ‘strong’. He appears to be slender of frame, not necessarily sporting the muscular body that most men his own age would. However, he is actually quite capable of taking down someone the same size, if not even a little bigger than him. He stands slightly over six feet if he were to stand on level ground barefoot. His hair is brunette and cut in a layered style. The back of his hair touches just down to the nape of his neck while his front bangs are swept to the right. They cover the corner of his right eye. They are a brilliant emerald-green color, glassy, almost to the point of appearing to be a pair of small marbles. Although it is said that eyes are the windows to a person’s heart, very little can be said when it comes to emotions revealed within them. Although he is not very tanned, neither is he stark pale. His skin tone falls somewhere in the middle of the range. He typically has a serious or solemn expression on his face as if he were deep in thought.

Jaden sports a peach-orange, hooded sweatshirt with a dark green vest over it. Its sleeves are short and white, along with the inside of the hood. A pair of white drawstrings hangs from each side of the hood, but they appear to be more for decoration than for utilitarian purposes. At each side of the shirt, there is a vertical, gray line with a thin, burgundy line going down its center. The shirt itself does not have much patterning or design on it. It has buttons going down its center and he rarely wears it buttoned-up. Instead, it is normally open so that a solid, white shirt underneath is visible. His pants are a pair of dark brown cargos with the typical oversized pockets on his thighs. Each pocket is shaped like a square with a single silver belt buckle to keep them closed. He rarely actually stuffs anything in there though. Jaden also wears a black belt around his waist that is barely visible beneath the orange and white shirt.
He wears a black and white striped wristband on his left wrist and a black glove on his right hand. The fabric is not skin tight and is actually slightly loose. His shoes are a pair of sturdy, black army boots with black laces.

Weapon:

Jaden’s main weapon is a triple-barreled, triple-chambered revolver that is also capable of casting magic named Hydra. It is a polished, silver color with a gold trigger. Each of the barrels has a serpent’s head engraved onto its side. A keychain hangs off the end of the gun, which is a ring with three dragon’s heads extending off of it, and each one glows individually to represent a different sort of magic that has been cast. The gun holster is on his left thigh.
For close-combat Jaden carries a dagger with a blade of six inches long.

Abilities:

- High-Jump: Jaden can jump up to fourteen feet in the air at a rather quick speed but has to allow gravity to do its work to bring him down. He’s careful not to jump too high because the higher he jumps, the longer it takes to get back on the ground and it is harder for him to dodge or defend himself while he is coming down.
- Air Step: Jaden can ‘run’ into the air. It would be easiest if it was visualized as an invisible staircase. He can still feel the effects of gravity though so it would be like literally running up stairs for him.
- Hawk’s Eye: Jaden has normal vision until this ability is activated. It allows him to have complete, 360-degree vision.
- Fira: Jaden fires a ball of flames from Hydra that travels in a straight line. Can be dodged or deflected by agile opponents or those with good defenses.
- Blizzara: Jaden fires a ball of ice from Hydra that acts as a homing device against his enemies. The ice itself can be shattered by an opponent before it hits or dodged.
- Thundara: Jaden summons a bolt of electricity fired from the mouth of one of Hydra's barrels.

History:

Most people are sure that Jaden was originally a resident of Radiant Gardens, but not even he knows. Despite his excellent memory, Jaden cannot recall a thing about life before Traverse Town. At the age of ten, he stumbled into the new world, darkness shrouding his memory. Luckily, a kind-hearted couple that had planned on taking care of the child until his head was clear and he could find his parents found him. But that time never came and Jaden’s memories never resurfaced. So he lived happily with the couple, which he later learned were originally from Radiant Gardens and had arrived in Traverse Town when the World was swallowed by darkness. When the World of Radiant Gardens returned, the couple offered to return to their home with him. Jaden, now fourteen, declined the offer and stated that he would prefer to remain in Traverse Town. It was the only World that he had tangible memories of and he was extremely hesitant to leave it. His adoptive father understood that it would be near impossible to sway Jaden’s decision and asked that Jaden would at least learn how to use a gun to defend himself if he planned on living on his own. The man, now reaching his elderly years but still rather agile, had once been a sharpshooter in his youth. He trained Jaden how to use the weapon. Jaden picked up the skill rather quickly as if his very hands were fashioned to hold a gun. Now sixteen, his adoptive parents bade him well and left him with a summon contract with Koko. At first, Koko refused to obey Jaden and was always around him to the boy’s dismay. But Jaden quickly grew attached to the nosy Chocobo and the two have been friends ever since.

Who is Koko anyways?

Koko is a yellow Chocobo that stands at 7 feet tall. Although he is a Summon, Koko rarely ever leaves Jaden’s side and wears a large, leather bag around his neck to store items. He doesn't have much of a fighting ability apart from the damage that he can deal with his legs or beak. He is the only one who can get away with bothering or pushing Jaden around.
