Here is my side on the whole "KH3" debate.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is not in production. In 06-07, everyone thought that KH3 would be called "The Keyblade War". Well, as stated in Birth by Sleep, the Keyblade War happened BEFORE BBS even came to be. So, that's completely out of the question.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is preperation for the events that occur in KH3. The basic storyline of KH3 will be this: Sora, Riku, and Mickey go on a quest to (once again) defeat Master Xehanort. Due to the gameplay previews in KH3D, you can tell that KH3 will have some pretty intense gameplay that may be very similar to Birth By Sleep.

Also, "ReConnect" IS KH3. It is not it's own game, because honestly, who wants to play a whole game of Sora doing nothing but looking for the Keyblade masters? To me, that's very boring. Square-Enix has failed to make a boring game, but I don't think it would match the story right if they seperated them. So, it will most likely be one game, not two.

OT: Lets keep out fingers crossed that Sora will kiss Kairi. :3

    Fan boy type thought :(

We can't be so sure now, We know atleast its been thought about. We also know that the KH team is working on VERSUS13, so until the game comes out or is finished, I highly doubt we will here anything about KH 3

    .
No one thought it would be called "they keyblade war", everyone just thought it was Kingdom Hearts 3, Many major fans just thought We would see a keyblade war in the game.

    Fact.

Your wrong again, your story plot is so flat and boring. Not Kh like at all. First lets start by saying, it won't be Master Xehanort they are chasing, just Xehanort as a full being. Second, i wouldn't say Sora, Riku, and Mickey are going to be together, or did you forgetr about the Goof and the Duck? We all know they are going to split up the keyblade weilders so we won't be Op through out the game.

Secondly, The gameplay of KH3D is not similar to BBS at all, its similar to FF: VERSUS13, that is confirmed. So this is basically gameplay we have yet seen in the KH series. Though I am pretty sure they are going to throw elements of gameplay from the past games.

Reconnect is not KH3, thats retarded and makes no sense..

    You just made no sense...

    Hopefully we see Kairi die

That was hilarious... As much as i laughed at that, i do and don't want kairi to die...

    why i dont
1.) Every game needs a good stron girl character

    Why i do
    1.) she isn't a strong girl character

    The verdict...
If Square devolopes her more and makes her a more vital part of the story then i dont want her to die...
if they continually use her as Sora's crush who does nothing but get kidnapped... then she might as well stab herself in the heart with a knife... i mean who wants to be kidnaped their whole life?

anyways thats my point of view on it

I personaly think KH3 has started perduction. There may be a different team working on KH3 then the regular one. I think Square knowes that a lot of people want KH3 so they had to start. I don't think they are very far into it though, but im sure some company is working with square on at least pitching Ideas or something.....

    2012-I believe that'd be Reconnect

This was so blunt, I laughed out loud. I doubt S-E would kill her off, though I can't say I'd shed any tears over it if they did.

Except Kairi is not a strong female character. Kairi is the damsel who either gets kidnapped or waits at home. And quite honestly, to counter your optimistic hope that Kairi becomes better developed, I still can't see her as being a legitimately strong female character. They can try to give her a weapon and let her start fighting, but it wouldn't be believable to me- she's spent too long as the weakling. I don't see a real take-charge, kick-ass kind of attitude out of her, either (or even a good willful personality a la X's Yuna). I really just can't picture her changing at all. [/Kairi rant]
Know if there's been any news on that front recently? Versus is taking forever.

As Kitty already said, there is no way she is going to change. unless she becomes and learns how to use that pretty little keyblade of hers (not going to happen). she will be the damsel the next game as well -_-

in my opinion, The game will never be released. I mean Square Enix has a knack for making good video games, but they are really bad at giving their fans what they want. I mean they are probably going to release FF13-2. Why? no one really wants this FF13 wasn't that good. We as Fans want Versus, we has fans want KH3, we has fans want a FF7 remake. Will we get them? No. They are losing money and not giving fans want they want. While if they listen to what the fans say then they would gain.

Yeah, that's what I thought when I first heard the news. I've not played XIII (don't have a ps3), but the game seemed to be a disappointment. I know some people liked it, but I don't remember ever hearing anyone really being in love with the game. They need to focus on getting Versus out to the public or just scrap the damn thing already and move on to KH III.

I'm really starting to believe that KH III will never be made. We'll just keep getting spin-offs and in-between games until people lose interest in the franchise and then it'll never get done.

Oh, you never know. She could bust out Oathkeeper and Oblivion and start kicking ass like she does in Dead Fantasy (Although the odds of that happening are rather low).

I'm certain KH3 will be released eventually, and I'm in no hurry. Since I don't have a PS3 I figure they could take all the time in the world (Until I get one). And besides, I want FFXIII-2 and I don't want an FFVII remake.

XIII is a fun game. People just seem to hate it because it is so very different from other FF games. And personally, I think that is one of the game's strong suits (But that's a different post for a different thread).

They've invest way too much time into Versus. If they're gonna scrap it then the smartest thing to do would be to take everything they can from it and put it into KH3 or something.

They'll make once they feel fan-hype has gotten big enough. KH is too big a cash cow for them to let die like that. It's the same reason they have more FFVII games than any other series. They're gonna release spinoffs, and once they think one of them does too poorly they'll release KH3.

There are no odds. She can't even summon a keyblade, let alone summon two
KHIII possibly, I'm starting not to believe it with all these bullshit side stories, that just adds more mystery to the seires. Yeah, but on the side note your not the only gamer in the world. Majority of the gaming universe now have both a PS3 and/or a Xbox. So we want Versus, (on top of that it may get released on the Xbox seeing on how FF is no longer a PS3 exclusive). Plus there is a difference between taking your time and delaying the shit out of a game and thats what happening with KH3 and Versus really. Ontop of that EVERYONE wants a FF7 remake, if your a final fantasy fan, and you have seen that demo, you would want to see that game remade.

Lets be real, FF13 was a major disappointment, and truthfully the story could have been better along with the gameplay. While the game was alright, it could have been better and thats one of the main reasons a second is being made

At StarKiller: A lot of people liked Final Fantasy XIII but not as much as previouse FF Games. When I finnished FFXIII I thought Wow I really wish I could have more of this, and I think a lot of other people felt the same way. It was just new and that's why so many FF fans were turned off by it. It might be because this was my first final fantasy game.

At Desert Warrior:I agree. KHIII will be made. The only reason Square is putting out all these side stories is because they are looking to create hype. They are trying to get as many people as possible so they can have a lot of fans for KHIII. Think about it. Everyone who wants to can play a KH game with a handheld! And yes most people have at least one handheld. They have a DS game, a 3DS game, and a PSP game! They are just trying to get as many people and then they will send KHIII out and sell a lot!

Oh, I've no doubt that could happen, and hell, S-E is probably gearing up towards that by giving Kairi the keyblade in KH II. My point was that since so much time has been spent establishing Kairi as weak and helpless, it would be out of character and unbelievable to me for Kairi to suddenly take a level in badass.

I don't especially want a FFVII remake. But I agree that a lot of people do and I think it would sell very well.

I agree that they've spent way too much time on Versus to just scrap it. But it really seems to me to be a bit ridiculous, how long it's taking for that game to be released. Surely it was like 2004 when we first had news of it. Not that I know much about the game development world. But if I were Mr. S-E Moneybags, pouring thousands of dollars into Versus all these years, I know I'd be wanting to see it out and making its money back. The longer the wait, I would think, the less it would sell. And people have been nagging for KH III for years now. You'd think they'd want to hustle it along a little.

  13. Ventus

    Ventus Kickass Keyblader!

Just to put my opinion out there, I think Versus will be worth the wait and the long arduous annoyance of not having KH3. The game looks great and I think it will blow both Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XIII out of the water. I can't wait for it and to be honest, I have lost almost all of my interest in the Kingdom Hearts series. They have stretched it out too long and I wish they didn't have these spinoffs because they have made the game's mechanics boring and repetitive. I was seriously trying to get through KH: Coded without falling asleep. It was that dull. For me to love the Kingdom Hearts series again, I want them to do several things.

    1) Improve the worlds list - Birth By Sleep had way too many "family friendly" worlds for the game's overall atmosphere. It was tense and anxious and overall, this feeling felt flat because of these worlds. Also, it would have been nice to see some more Final Fantasy (or Dragon Quest!).
    2) Kingdom Hearts 3 should grow and become maturer - I don't want blood in the games but I want to see more at stake. I want to see Kairi with a keyblade by her neck or the thought of a friend of Sora's dying (like Goofy in KH2 but for a longer time frame.). Many Disney films of recent past have done this and I want to see this implemented in KH3 too. Birth By Sleep did try to do this, when lives were at stake but it fell flat for me due to the crappy world selection.
