Where did you go? A teen was slowly walking around a few houses. He was doing his best not to make any noise, he'd alert his target. In his hands was an oversized, light blue key. But it didn't look like a key, but more like a decorative sword. The teen stopped at a corner, and slowly peered around it to see. Standing in the middle of the empty marketplace was a tall black creature with yellow eyes and strange antennas coming from its head. Found you, Heartless. The teen readied himself for a moment, then quickly charged at the heartless. It turned to defend itself but too late, the teen cut through it with his strange blade. It vanished instantly. "Another Heartless, dispatched by my Keyblade. I'm getting better at this."

He looked around for a moment before yelling, "It's gone everyone! You can come out now!" From the houses bursted a flood of people, each one came up to the teen to thank him. After a few minutes an old man stepped forward. "I thank you once more on behalf of our town. Please, young warrior, what is your name?"
The teen smiled, "Name's Vent. I'm gonnna defeat all the Heartless!"
At that everyone cheered. When everyone quieted down enough, the old man continued speaking. "A great goal. I'm sure you'd like assistance in your journey, especially one as dangerous as this. Did you know there is a resistance fighting these beasts?"
    "I've heard rumors. Why?"
"Well the rumors are true. They are stationed at the capital right now, defending the leader of our world. Perhaps you should join up with them. I'm sure they could use someone like you."
Vent gave it a moment to think. On one hand, he was tired of traveling alone. Company would be a great idea. On the other hand, he didn't want to endanger anybody else with his troubles. Well these things are attacking everybody anyways. "Alright then. I'll go work with them." Everybody gave one last cheer before returning to thier normal lives. The old man gave Vent a pack with supplies as thanks for his help. With that, Vent said goodbye to the town and heades off towards the capital.

Lexbak looked down upon the village from his perch on high, and considered the facts. A keyblade wielder. Naive to the necessity of darkness in balance. Single minded desire to purge world of heartless. Admired and supported by town in exchange for his services in protection. All this data he filed into its own mental folder, and sent all this over his psychic connection to leader. The file on keyblade wielders grew ever larger, day by day.

A girl was running through the alleyways of Radiant Gardens' main capital. She looked back frequently, checking to see if anyone was behind her. Was that a shadow? Her heart felt as though, it was up her throat and adrenaline was pumping through her body like soundwaves coming out a drum.
"Where is she!?" a man shouted in anger.
The girl was searching for somewhere to hide.
    "I don't know sir..."
The girl heard a scream echoing around the alleyways.
    "FIND HER NOW!"
She scanned her surroundings and found a trash can. That would smell...wait...is that a footstep! She shook her head, not wanting to smell badly but she had no choice. She held her nose and stepped inside, with a tear down her eye. She could feel the mushy surface of the trash. There was sludge and with her hands, she touched a rough object. She slid her hand down the object and whatever she was feeling cracked. The girl held her breath, knowing what the object was. It was a bone. Is it a bone from an animal or...
Goosebumps went down her spine and fright took hold of her body. She was shaking vigorously and she screamed in fright. Suddenly the trash can opened and the girl widened her eyes. It's over...The girl could not see the face because of the darkness of the night.
"Hey...are you okay?" a friendly voice spoke to her. The girl's heartbeat slowed down and she could breath.
"I'm...I'm...fine" she replied, not knowing how to respond.
"Good evening, Ryan. How's the business doing?"
    "Uh...it's good."
The girl could see a man try to peer inside but Ryan closed it before the other man could look.
"Wonderful. Is that a voice, I heard in that trash can?"
"No sir, I was speaking to myself. I need to remember a recipe for my dad and I'm repeating it over and over again under my breath."
"Very good. Be on the lookout, master Kenil. The darkness is strong at night."
    "Right sir."
The girl could hear steps tredding on the path, which faded every ten seconds or so. Soon, Ryan opened the trash can and took the girl's hand.
    "Come with me"

The night was a long thing. Sitting alone on some rooftop in a town infested with heartless is one thing, but doing all that while making tea was an entirely different. . . cup of tea. Malisa Jals was indeed drinking tea on a rooftop. Where, one might ask? She has lost track. The mage has been to so many worlds, they all just seem to blend together. And everywhere, the situation seems to be the same; Heartless and nobodies just causing havoc wherever one looks. Speaking of which, one was sneaking behind Malisa at that very moment these existental (somewhat) thoughts were being pondered. Then promptly exploded as a circle lit up under it. Malisa disregarded it, seeing as that was the eighth one in a row that tried the sneaking tactic.

As the cup of tea was finished, the spellcaster, whisked the kettle and cups into a small bag she carried with her, using a size-reducing spell a "Merlin" gave to her. Strange man, but very helpful. Having been ready, she hopped off of the roof and into the streets to find lodgings for the night.

Upon this evening, Taliena carried herself upon a pair of light feet, fluttering through the town's center like a dancer, making her way across a stage. As she passed by, some peoples' eyes followed her path, giving her what attention they could between the screams in the distance. She knew what it was that was going through their heads. Each and everyone of the was asking themselves why she would be in such a delighted state of mind while all of these horrors were still unfolding within the town. Of course, that's what they had been thinking, until they found out that the heartless that was last seen had been defeated by a local hero. So their minds were taken off of her dancing quickly, submitting to the thought that maybe she had been dancing at the sound of this news herself.

The reason for her dancing was not something so trivial, and daily as a heartless being defeated by some nameless hero, though to her, it was something that was as common. But to the others in the town, it would be considered an honor above most others to have upon one's agenda. On this evening, Taliena, or Natalie, as many in the town still referred to her, had been sent an invitation to join the heads of the government for a diner social. Her family would be there in a short while, following in her wake. She had simply been in good spirits to have gotten such an invite, especially because she had also been summoned to enjoy a pre-meal tea drinking with the leader himself. Natually, she had abandoned her new favorite get-up, and dug out one of her older, yet still stylish dresses from the wardrobe. Her favorite jewels had been salvaged for the occasion. If she had to say so herself, she look very smashing.

Seeing as she had plenty of time, and the ability of flouting ones self before the public eye was something that only a few people in the town had the pleasure of doing these days, she altered her path, prancing down a lonely alleyway, the heels of her shoes clicking and clunking upon the stone walkway. It wouldn't be a terrible detour, and the alley let out along the road leading straigh for the castle. Really, it was more like a shortcut, or at least, a route of equal distance. Either way, she would arrive in time for tea, and diner, and be all the closer to the heads of the ruling class. It would be like making the perfect play, really, if it could just work out right.

Then.... Voices? People, maybe? Good thing I left my Bubbles at home for the night.

The warrior sat resting down within the light of the full moon as it shone down upon the world from the star encrusted skies flickering high above his head. Within the the darkness of the night, his form, clad in an all fitting black plate-armor, was made almost invisible to the untrained eyes. The only visible part of him would have been his face, which by that extension, would have seemed as though it were floating unsupported in midair. Yet slowly, the full image of his form was coming into view has he stripped off the top half of his armor, shortly preceding the removal of a black silk robe top. Each slab of metal, each bit of cloth, which came off his body revealed a small cluster of redish dragon's scales, covering his torso as though they were just another article of clothing. And to him, that's all they were in the long run: just another part of his appearance, one that wasn't so special, or extraordinary in any manner.

The warrior looked around, trying to get a bearing on where he was, and more so, how it was that he had come to be here. All he could recall was being surrounded by total darkness, sucked into a warp hole of some kind, and then, only a few minutes ago, he found himself sprawled out upon this cold rock surface surrounded by what appeared to be a crystalline valley, sparkling in the silver light of the moon. Beyond the valley, as his eyes could best discern, lay a large castle, bragging its presence to a small town resting at its base, overshadowing the people with its sheer display of might. Surely, this was a place that was very much like home to this man, and maybe, just maybe, this WAS his home, torn apart at last by the invasions, and rebellions that had continued to rage after his departure. But whether it was his home or not, he felt comfortable here, and confident in his ability to fit, just as soon as he managed to get the rest he needed.

Sitting in the cool night air, he let his scaled body enjoy the light breeze, cooling it off, clearing it of the sweat that had come upon him, he looked up hopefully to the night sky, wishing upon every, and any star that would listen to him. Gripping the handle of a hand axe resting at his side, his wishes drifted into something more tangible. You're out there.... somewhere.... you're here, and I know you are....

King of Darkness What up Monica

Vex sat in a dark alley in Radiant Gardens. He breathed rapidly unlike other Heartless. He breathed almost as if he were dying and trying to gasp for air. He watched people go by, waiting to strike the weakest one like a lion in the wild. He spotted two small boys playing catch. Perfect! He watched as they played with the ball, passing it back and forth. He prayed for one of the boys to mess up. Maybe one of them wouldn't catch it and it would roll into the alley. Then maybe, just maybe, the boy who failed to catch it would have to go into the alley to retrieve it. But alas, the children did not miss and walked away minutes later. So he still sat there. Waiting for his next prey.

"Kill 'em" At the command given, at least thirty neo shadows assaulted a small group of swordsman. They had been returning from a scouting mission when he ambushed them. The worst part was, none of them were interesting. Yero was getting more and more pissed every attack. Nobody could defeat the low level heartless he used. He only joined Teliena because she told him that the light had interesting warriors on its side. The way things were, he was ready to turn and attack her just to make things interesting.
It wasn't long before the Heartless finished of the soldiers. As they awaited thier orders, Yero looked them over. Just darkness given form. Every one of them would've attacked Yero if he had a heart. But since he was a Heartless like them, albeit a higher level one, they just followed his orders. Yero sighed, "Go get more hearts." The neo shadows all sank into the ground and vanished. Ugh... where is someone interesting?!

"Where are they? They should be here by now." Reyox was standing by the gates to the main city. He had sent out a scouting team yesterday, but not very far. They were just sent to investigate the cliffs just outside the town. They should've been back by now. Even if they ran into trouble, those were a few strong fighters. I shouldn't still be wondering where they are. Perhaps I should report this to Severi. With that thought, Reyox gripped his sword tighter and began running back towards the castle. Thier headquarters was just outside the castle walls and was easy to spot. It wasn't long before Reyox was there. He quickly headed for Severi's office. He gentley knocked on the door before speaking, "Sir, can I speak with you?"

Lexbak spotted Taliena walking swiftly and merrily toward the palace. "A royal event. A meeting of those in control." He thought, quickly weighing options as he leaped across the rooftops in pursuit. He rapidly manifested a small brooch shaped like an eye upon the legs of a spider from the shadows of the night, and tossed it down to Taliena. She would know to pin it as a recording device. A standard method of Data collection to be sure, but in this circumstance, invaluable. He would wait for the right moment. His services for her ladyship would not go unrewarded. He had no need for gold, or any trinket of hers. But now she WOULD get him access to the government archives, and he WOULD see the government reports upon the heartless and nobodies. Of this much he was certain.

Damn, that last battle took a lot out of me....

Zeije's previous battle against his pursuer had been the hardest of any of the duals he had taken part in in a long time, and in the state of things now, his condition might only worsen things. It wasn't so much that he was utterly wounded, and left near death, but he was pretty out of it, compared to where he had been after the battle before the last. Now he was lost, lost in a world that he did not know, in which he could easily fall victim to some unknown form of power. He'd be able to defend himself, yes, but if he didn't find some way out of the town, and into a more secluded area he'd be left in the middle of the conflicts that had been sparking up since he had gotten here. Those same mysterious black creatures that had attacked him and Orion just the day before were causing trouble on this world as well. He'd have done something, but his fatigue from being fugitive had taken its toll. He had needed rest, and now that he had gotten just a little bit, he could take on the task of helping the defenses of the town... unofficially, that is.

Staying within the darker sections of town, he had evaded these creatures, these shadows for the majority of his time there, and kept his presence an inconspicuous one. Compared to some of the others that he had seen around in the passed few hours, a man wrapped in travel robes, face covered by a scarf, would not be anything that caused suspensions to mount upon him. In fact, it seemed that here, he blended in seamlessly with the underground crowd, scrounging around, clawing at the dirt matted surfaces of the back alleys, and side streets which weaved in and out of the main town. But it may have only been a stroke of mere luck that he had kept so well away from the prying eyes of the masses. After all, they had all been preoccupied trying to rid themselves of those black things that seemed to come straight up out of the ground.

He looked up to the sky, just as a low, soft rumble of thunder echoed across the mountains. Upon the stars, a thick mass of clouds now began to manifest rapidly above the town, and the first few drops of rain pelted gently upon the top of his head. At that same moment, his presence was accompanied by an unwelcome set of guests, rising up from the ground around him, groping to their feet, and readying themselves for their attack. As another, louder roll of thunder strummed out over the horizons, he revealed his weapons, a pair of dual short swords, bearing the same form a a scimitar. Both blades held at his side in attacking form, became consumed by a white aura, which covered the blade, running down the handle, and covering his body.

It's dark, it's raining, I'm outnumbered five to one.... The perfect setting for their defeat.

One threw itself, body and all upon him making a hideous, high pitched screeching noise, which sounded like a fisher cat or a fox, yelping at its prey. It's clawed hands reaching out beckoning for the young warrior to walk into its deadly embrace, it came out fast, and the others seemed to follow its movements in a highly synchronized fashion. He was ready for it. Being that the lot of the were airborne, and lacked wings, to his knowledge, he could easily tuck under them. Throwing himself to the ground, he carried out his maneuver, rolling under the 'leader' of the party, spinning himself around as he rose to his feet following through the motion with his wielding arms. Responding to the motion set forth by the movements of his arms, the auras concentrated upon the blade flung off of swords as he passed both through the spinning momentum. He couldn't see it just right, but out of the corner of his eyes, he was dead certain that he had managed to wipe out the lot of them with the attack.

Surveying the alley, he saw that no life but himself remained nearby. He had either defeated all of them, or defeated some of them, and the survivors had retreated to reform their ranks. They'd attack again, if the latter was the case, and they would bring larger numbers to deal with the problem. Not replacing his blades to their sheaths, he continued along the alley, keeping himself aware of all happenings. Any movement could be a hint at the presence of those things.

Severi clicked his fingers and a maid opened the door for Reyox. Severi was sitting on a white throne shaped like a wing.
    "Ah Reyox...come in..come in..."
The maid showed the warrior to a seat, which was more lowered down than Severi's throne. Reyox's seat was situated next to a table, which shined a halo yellow from it's surface. The walls around them were plain white and there was a window behind Severi, which showed a great view of the town. The lanterns that were situated around each corner of the capital gleamed in the distance and provided safety for it's citizens at night. Even though, the scenary was wonderful, this was a tactical advantage for Severi, incase of incoming attacks to the capital. Severi sat back on his throne and stared down at Reyox.
"So why have you come here, Reyox?..." he spoke to him, with annoyance in his voice. He hated the night and he hated how he could feel the darkness spreading across the world.

"Do you recall the scouting party we sent yesterday to the cliffs? Well I've been waiting but they've yet to arrive. With your permission sir, I'd like to go out and find out why." Reyox knew he was treading on dangerous ground. As a Nobody, he came from darkness, yet he worked under the greatest darkness hater in the world. He never liked to think about what would happen if Severi discovered him. "It bothers me that such a simple scouting mission would take so long."

    Severi grimly nodded.
"Yes, I want you to go find the scouting party. I have a terrible feeling that the heartless have ambushed them. I need you to do one thing first. There was a sighting of a girl, who has the powers of darkness living in the town's alleyways. Scout her out and terminate her immediately. She is a threat to the public. Go now!"

"Yes sir." Reyox got up and left. As soon as he was outside he jumped up to the rooftops. I'll just do quick checks of the alleys on my way out of the city. Some girl using darkness is a problem, but I believe a more immediate problem is something or someone that can defeat a group of armed warriors. With the thought in mind, Reyox began running across the rooftops towards the city exits, making sure to check the alleys below him as he did.

The girl in dark black hair and dark blue eyes stepped outside the trash can. Ryan nodded and turned away from her.
    "Follow me...quickly"
    They started to run.
"HEY!" a guard, who was that stationed around the corner, shouted. The guard was aware of the girl with darkness roaming the streets. He had luminescent glasses on, which could detect the darkness at night. He could see bubbling dark gas around her feet. He threw a ball of light towards the two kids and they were locked together in cream white chains. Their feet were also planted to the ground like super glue.
"So who do we have here?"
The two kids looked afraid of what was going to happen and Ryan could hear the girl panting. The guard paced back and forth infront of Ryan with a look of disgust and disbelief.
    "YOU DISGUSTING TRAITOR!"
The guard kicked him in the stomach and Ryan fell down like a sack of potatoes, gasping. The girl went on the ground aswell because they were in chains. The guard started to repeatedly kick Ryan. He started to feel light-headed and his heart was pumping like a machine in a factory. His stomach was in pain.
    "..please....stop..."
The guard remained kicking him, laughing, enjoying the pain he was giving to this 14-year-old boy, who was not able to defend himself
The girl's anger started to surge through her and she could feel the darkness pulse out of her body. Her nails sharpened and her long black hair turned into a creature slithering through the stone floor. It unlocked the chains and the girl stood up to the guard. The guard looked at her with his eyes widened.
    "DON'T HURT HIM!"
She held her hand upto his chest and an energy of dark wind formed in her hands. It charged and then pulsed, causing the guard to be sent flying towards a building and eventually hit it, in high speeds. Ryan closed his eyes and fell unconscious, as she was attacking the guard. The girl sighed and a tear went down her eye. She was too dangerous to be around anyone. She'll have to be alone...She knelt down to the boy and kissed his cheek.
"Thankyou.." she told him. The girl ran off in the distance.

Malisa had been walking down the street, keyblade supported by her shoulder, when some white-haired girl ran into her, knocking the sorceress down. The culprit just kept on running like nothing had ever happened, presumably preoccupied with her own matters, which left Malisa to get herself back onto her feet. She cursed as she did so, annoyed that this person would just keep going. However, she understood somewhat the need to hurry, so she shrugged it off quickly. And so, Malisa kept heading down the dark city road she had been traveling on.

'Twas not long before the sorceress had reached a town square where she would notice a rather stunning and wealthy-looking woman strutting down the road. Now, Malisa figured that someone who looked like that must know somebody who was in charge of a sentry organization. So, she approached Natalie, asking, "Hoy, pretty lady! Can I ask you something?" She was using the Keyblade as a walking stick at this time.

The clear night had begun to give way to a storm amongst storms, punching into the skies as a boxer through the defenses of his opponent, pressing it's presence upon the community below. The first of the rain droplets splattered lightly against young Taliena's head, instigating a shivering feeling that ran down to the ends of her flowing heir strands. As the droplets commenced with a harder, faster decent upon the world, her hair became wetter, almost to the point of being completely drenched. It was only at this point that she removed from the confines of her dress, a smaller sized umbrella, just large enough to shield herself from the impending downpours. A smile cracked across her face as the first bolt of lightning flashed across the cloud cover, splitting off, curling around in its path of purple light. It was almost as beautiful almost as spectacular as she was.

As she paced through the back ways, she noticed a small form scuttling along at her side some distance away. 'Twas a device which seemed to be of an arachnid form, bearing a single eye upon it's tiny structure. She'd have been unsettled by its presence, had it not been a familiar device. The owner was one of her own understudies, a male by the name of Lexbak, who had found himself in a state of inquiring curiosity on many a subject, and sought out answers to those questions that were kept secret from the public eyes. Being that Taliena was currently in the good graces of the king, and many of his officials, her ability to snatch information on coming events, and current defensive measures was far greater than those that clung to the normal society. So in a exchange for her generous hunt for the knowledge and understanding he sought, Lexbak offered the mistress his services. Stopping for a moment, she motioned her hand, beckoning for the device to join her, which was an invitation the mechanism could not refuse. It would only make its programmed task easier. The device made its way towards her, climbing onto her left shoe, wrapping its legs around her ankles, gripping firmly to her legs. It would look just like another piece of jewelry from her collections. Her smile widening, she continued walking.

In due time, a young girl passed by her, seemingly is a flustered panic about something or other, though what it was, the mistress wasn't thoroughly interested. As the girl darted passed her, she made quick rotation of her umbrella, splashing the collected water off to either side of her, not bothering to stop and witness the effects of her actions. Even if the girl didn't stop to confront her, she'd be feeling the humiliation, everyone felt it. Not long after the girl had passed by, another female figure approached her, this one seeming to be injured, using some strange, expensive looking cane to hold herself up upon her feet.

"Hoy, pretty lady! Can I ask you something?"

"Indeed. What is it you are need of knowing dear?" Realizing the malevolence in her grin, she quickly wriggled it upon her face, reestablishing it as a friendly and inviting beam.

(wow. Musta missed the rain footnote before. What-evs, I'll just work withit now.)

Malisa got to Talenia after what seemed like an age due to the rain. It was really starting to come down by this point and her aura only protected against ice. Everything else aside, when she reached Talenia, she muttered, "Barrier," conjuring a spell circle around the two that would shield them from the rain. Brushing off the rain, Malisa did a slight curtsey before addressing Talenia as such: "Hello. You seem like you know your way around the more prominent areas, so I was wondering if you could direct me to the headquarters of some well-off organization, preferably one that surveys the people going in and out of town." The sorceress leaned upon her keylade as she said this.

"So they were wiped out." Reyox was standing in a small clearing, some random supplies were torn and thrown around the perimeter. "A group of eight, eight of our stronger soldiers. And it looks like they didn't stand a chance." Reyox walked forward before kneeling down by a notebook. He flipped through it a bit before dropping it. Thanks to the rain, the ink has run. Now it'll be impossible to tell what they discovered. I should head back to the city, start searching for that dark girl like Severi ordered. As he got up he heard a snap, followed by some quick shuffling. Gripping his swords handle, Reyox prepared himself for a possible attack. "If you walk among the light, then show yourself and I will not harm you. You have my word."

There was a small pause followed by a bright flash of light. Vent slowly walked out from his hiding place, his keyblade in hand. "Did you do this?"
Reyox looked over the boy, his eyes resting on his keyblade. Is that... a keyblade? "No I didn't. I came to find them but they were gone before I arrived."
    "Who were they?"
"A scouting party sent by my boss. They were supposed to return to the city a few hours ago. When they didn't, my boss sent me to investigate."
"And who's your boss. And who're you for that matter?"
"My boss is Serevi, leader of the resistance and anti-darkness forces of the capital. I am Reyox, one of the many soldiers under his command."
"Wait, you're from the resistance?" There was a flash of light as Vents keyblade vanished. He quickly walked up to Reyox. "My name's Vent. I was told about you guys a while ago and figured I'd join up. I want to do whatever I can to defeat the heartless and nobodies."
Reyox gave a small nod. "I see. And that strange blade, would that happen to have been a keyblade?"
    "Yeah, how'd you know?"
"There's not many things that fit that description of weaponry, and even fewer that vanish and appear through bursts of light. Serevi reads the legends as much as anybody else in the capital, keyblade wielders are destined for great things. I'm sure Serevi would be happy to have you." Reyox took a final look around before starting to walk back towards the city. "I'll introduce you to him before returning to my duties."
"Thanks!" Vent ran up alongside him before he slowed to a walk. Then together they headed towards the city, the only sound was thier footsteps in the rain.

The girl's footsteps pattered through the rain like a lillypad being dropped onto the water. Puddles were starting to fall and the track was getting harder to navigate through because she was approaching the outskirts of the town. She needed to get away from the town as soon as possible. She was frightened of her powers. She was frightened of her anger. She was frightened of the resistance...
She sprinted up the hilly pathway and as she reached the top of the hill, the girl slipped and fell down the hill. Her head knocked on the cobblestone path and her chest scarred from the friction of falling down a hill. She fell unconscious because of the knock to the head. A few seconds after the fall, the darkness that was around the girl's feet faded away.

In the rain, a group of Neoshadows appeared. They were walking towards a big hill. As they kept walking to it, one of then turned around and stopped. A young man in a black cloak appeared. The Neoshadow looked at the being with curiosity. The man walked towards the group of heartless shortly. As he did that, the rest of the group turned around and charged at him. The man looked at them and said "Hmmph." He then brought his right hand out and light appeared in it. THen all of a sudden, a keyblade appeared. He pointed at them and said "Bring it."
