    Keyblade Chronicles: Academy Days

In an age untold by the pages of the old history books, Keyblades were not the rarity that they have been in the recent ages. Stories passed down over the ages, left out of the chronicles of the worlds for one reason or another, have told us this: That Keybearers, once upon a time, met in the thousands to do battle over rights to all worlds, the rights to rule over all that was and would ever be. Going back further, these tales have revealed an age of strife that led to the conflict as mentioned; The Keyblade Wars, a series of events fueled by conflict between the factions of an old order of Keybearers, and led solely by the Masters of the age. They had fought for power, for pride, and for the security of knowing that they were the ones who were right in action and intention.

Yet this age of conflict is now known to have buried a period in time of a greater glory of The Keybearers, one that predated even the first true emergence of darkness, or naught into the Realm of Light. This was known as The Age of The Council, a period in time in which the thought of a Keybearer being corrupt was as far out as the most distant stars in the cosmos. During this age, Keybearers sprouted up almost regularly, the new coming forth to replace the departed old, who fell either as a result of age, or through conflict with the 'Dark' forces on the edge of the Realm of Light. As the new Keybearers emerged, so too did the remaining 'old' scour the worlds, seeking out the newer Bearers across the supposedly infinite expanse of Inter Space. The new Bearers immediately became integrated, or other wise, introduced to, the life of a Keybearer, and soon, were instructed formally in their soon-to-be trade.

    The Plot

Five years have passed since the last 'Scourge', the process of retrieving rookie Keybearers from their Worlds of Residence (WoR). Now, a new Scourge has taken place, and some hundred new Keybearers have been gathered by The Masters in charge of The Scourge. As per usual, not ever new Keybearer that surfaced was able to be salvaged from the darkness that bound in upon them. In fact, most of the new Bearers died long before their position could even be discerned. On board a well defended, and by and large, massive world cruiser, those rookies that were saved are en route to the first location of their training, a place that the Masters have defined as The Academy. It is a place of learning, where all of them will learn what it means to be a Keybearer, though only in its most basic sense. It will last a year, as they have been told, and at the end, only the best of them will be permitted to move up from Students, to Apprentices.

    The Academy

The Academy is the nerve center for all Keybearer activity, being the home of not only the initial schooling area for new Keybearers, but also the central governing of the Keybearers' operations, The Hall of Masters. The facility stands as a small college campus set up, with several buildings for classes and research dotting a flat plains landscape. The central location of The Academy is found at The Hall of Masters, a large spire-like tower with a square ring shaped building around it, and leading into the tower via underground tunnels. At the highest point of the tower, The Grandmaster's office is situated within 'the pyramid head' of the HoM. It is said that from there, the entire academy can be seen, as well as a large span of the world around it. In the tower itself, the High Masters hold their offices, and various meeting rooms. The ring shaped building around it is the primary command center for all Masters and Knights, and is off limits to Students, and Apprentices (unless the latter is accompanied by a Master).

Around the HoM are the primary learning facilities, where multiple classrooms and lecture halls can be found. Not every student will find themselves in ever classroom. Most of them are in fact used for non-keybearer related purposes, for scholars on the matter of The Keyblade are almost always giving their own seminars to Knights and Masters. There are roughly four of these buildings located near the HoM, though it is often seen that only one is ever in use at a single moment. Also found within this vicinity are the research facilities, where scholars, Masters, and Knights (though rarely), expand their knowledge of things connected to the Keyblades, as well as magical standards such as spells, potions and the like. Students and Apprentices rarely, if ever, step foot into these places, for it is not of their initial concern, and they reap the benefits of it in the end as it is.

Further expanding, found along the marble walkways of the Academy, one can find the living quarters where Keybearers stay. These are essentially dormitories, though they are referred to as barracks by the higher-ups in the chain. Most of the dorm space is occupied for an extended period by Students, and sometimes Apprentices, who have their own dorms on lock until they happen to return for any given period of time. The dorms are usually maintained as coed, though it is a controlled manner as such.

The Student dorm building is split between two sides, with one being for males, and the other for females. During the daytime hours between classes, training sessions, and other important events, the two sides are accessible to the other, due to tighter moderating be Masters throughout the day. At night, a potent magical barrier keeps boys from entering the girls' side, and vice versa. They can, however, get back to their own sides, though that's only if they don't happen to get caught. There is usually some sort of authority figure on each floor that maintains the order on their respective sides of the building. Punishment is varying depending on viable offenses. The Apprentice barracks are usually smaller in size due to the inconsistency of their visits, and their quarters are separated by gender with different buildings. Knights are commonly seen housed in these barracks as well, since they've no official housing. Every Master has their own house somewhere on the site.

In the far corner of The Academy grounds is the 'Arena' where all combative and physically oriented activity takes place. The most common uses for this place is either practice fights, physical training exercises, and combat seminars. It is a large building, matched in size only by The Hall of Masters, and has everything that an athletic center might be found with, such as a gymnasium type of area, and running concourse/track, or rather, an area that is similar in concept to that.

Dotted around The Academy grounds are dining halls. The primary DHs are located near the housing facilities, the Arena, and the learning centers. The Hall of Masters has its own dining facilities that are said to be infinitely superior to what the rest of The Academy populace is given. The meals everywhere have a large variety, but everyone is encouraged to eat as full and healthy a meal as possible, and leave out junk foods as much as they can.

    Keybearer Hierarchy

    Students

Students are the backbone of The Academy, and of the Keybearer population in general. As old Knights and Masters pass away, The Keyblade chooses new hearts to wield its power, resulting in these new Bearers. The Students are essentially first year Apprentices that are in the process of learning of their powers under a formal, less personalized method. They never leave The Academy, unless a worthy emergency is that which draws them away (such as a family crisis, or severe illness with treatment dictated as being 'time back home'. By the end of one year's time, The Students are evaluated on a Pass/Fail basis, and a Master chooses them as their Apprentice, along with a small team of other Students. Otherwise, they are forced to repeat their training at The Academy until they have become acceptable as Apprentices. Students are never called upon for duty rounds.

    Apprentices

The Apprentices are the second step of being a Student, and is essentially just that, except for the fact that an Apprentice works with a team of roughly three others under a single Master for an extended period of time, until they are capable of passing the test to become recognized as Keyblade Knights. Until that time, they run in the shadow of their Master, aiding them with their duties as world guardians, learning by example, and as many training exercises as they can before the time comes for their examination for Knight status. Apprentices rarely return to The Academy (only so often as their assigned Master does), and almost never return home, save of course for those times when their Master adjusts plans to accommodate them. They are never actually given leaves of absence, for their presence with their Master is crucial. Apprentices, however, can be traded off, if two Masters happen to agree that they can teach the other's Apprentice(s) more effectively, and an agreement can be worked out. This can happen very freely. (No Apprentices will be played or directly encountered in this RP).

    Knights

After passing their examination to become Knights, former Apprentices are presented with their own armor set, which is almost always designed for their apparent needs in combat. It is usually the Keybearer's term as a Knight that makes them a name amongst their fellow Bearers. They are then sent across the worlds, stationed in different locations, depending on where it is that they need to be at a given point in time. For a Knight to return to The Academy is rarer than that of an Apprentice, as Masters usually relay orders to them from the central command as they pass through. Like students and Apprentices, Knights are almost never seen on leave, as their presence is so crucial to the system. There is only one thing (short of command summonings) that can ever draw a Knight away from his or her post: The death, or impending death of a family member or sever illness or injury of the Knight in question. Like students, they are essentially bound to the world they are placed on, and must stay there until the higher powers order them to leave, or grant them reprieve. (No Knights will be played in this RP. They may, however, be brought in as NPCs for periods of interaction).

    Masters

The grandest, and most celebrated of any of the Keybearers, The Masters are the high dogs in the pack, presiding over almost every operation of Keybearer forces across the worlds, and The Academy. Masters of the lower tiers serve as the initial instructors of Students. Field Masters are those that are far more advanced in their prowess with their weapon and magic, and are the ones that take up Apprentices as well as command the field operations of Knights. It is usually these members that are in line to become higher Masters that oversee things on an administrative level. Command Masters are those Masters that are, while few, the more prominent behind the scenes. All of the other Masters, Knights, and Apprentices know of them, thought they are never truly unveiled to the public eye. Their job is to oversee the actions of the Masters below, and see to it that they get their jobs done. Above the Command Masters are The High Masters, of which there are only 7. One of these 7 is elected by the Masters and Knights to be the Grandmaster, who oversees the entire populace of Keybearers, making him the essential guardian of all worlds. (Only Low Masters (teachers) will be played in this

It gives off a star wars and FF VIII feeling to me.Which aint bad at all.Why FF VIII I have no idea.Anyways,I'll try a profile.

    Name: Peter Arks

    Age: 13

    Appearance: [IMG]

Its the one on the left with the bird on his finger. He looks younger then that,no choker, and wheres black pants. The white shirt is a dress shirt that is buttoned but not tucked into the pants.Wheres black and grey running shoes.

Personality: Reserved to those he does not know, but more open to those that he gets to know, alternating between talking for a good bit and being silent for most of a conversation.Tends to feel like people dont like him and may be using him sometimes, though he knows that it most likely isnt the case. When someone hurts one of his friends,it angers him greatly, but usually he hesitates to act. However, when he does act on this anger it surprises many people, both those who know him and that dont know him. Also believes in many stories that are considered paranormal in nature on most worlds, such as ghosts, but doesnt always believe in them the same way others do.

Keyblade: Orgin keyblade; Grey where the kingdom key is yellow, and white for the blade itself

    Magic: Currently none

Peripheries: Can move faster then most people he knows close to his age. Also good at climbing buildings and the like with his own hands and feet.

History: Born on the world Kairos,a planet close to the Realm of Light and,in turn, the 'Dark' forces,Peter led a mostly normal life as a child in one the world's cities..He had both his parents there to take care of him,a few friends to play with, and bullies who loved to pick on him,as little kids sometimes do.Sometimes they tried to catch him in order to 'torture' him, which was more humiliation then anything else, but for Peter it was the same thing,so he ran from them often. He ended up outrunning them most of the time, even climbing up buildings in order to get away from them, though he generally got in trouble with his own parents when he did this so he only did it when he was cornered.Sometimes they also went after his friends, but he was too scared to do anything about it usually.Eventually though,he snapped and charged after some of them when they started on one of his friends more then usual, resulting in a fistfight that, while not dangerous (bruises and black eyes mostly),managed to scare the bullies enough to get them to stop going after his friends.

As everyone got older the bullying started to become more verbal then physical, which he found easy to ignore, but at the same time found that he missed the chase, running around knowing that they couldnt catch him,and if they did that he could still get away by using the buildings to his advantage. So he started to climb buildings and run around the rooftops without too much care.

The world of Kairos, being so close to the 'Dark',is sometimes attacked by their forces.usually the Knights can take care of them, but sometimes a few manage to slip through and cause havoc among the populance. One such time happened recently when three weak dark beings managed to slip in while the Knight of Kairos (or Knights if worlds close to the 'Dark' need more than one) were dealing with a more powerful foe. They started to terrorize the city that Peter lived in,and eventually went after some of his friends.Peter tried to get the drop on them from a rooftop in order to save them, but the damage he did from jumping off the roof and stomping on one of them barley did anything other then agitate it.Out of options and with the other two advancing on his friends,Peter picked up the closest thing he could use as a weapon,a baseball bat. Before anyone could attack the bat was engulfed in light, turning into an Orgin keyblade, surprising the foe going after him and causing the other two to turn to him,now intent on defeating him.Peter, while surprised, also felt confident in himself for a reason he couldnt understand, though he belived it was the keyblade that gave him this strength. He charged after the now recovering dark being that he had jumped earlier, defeating it in one hit.

The other two seperated and then attacked at once, trying to take him down without both of them dieing. While Peter managed to take down the one to his right with a rather wild strike, the other one stabbed him in the side, causing him great pain, though he was able to get away. However,he couldnt move as fast now and was about to be taken down when the dark foe was instantly killed by a Knight, fresh from the battle with the stronger enemy that allowed the three beings to sneak into the city. The Knight then cured Peter's wound with his magic and told him that soon he would be allowed to become a Student of the academy since he had a keyblade, and that a ship would be on Kairos in a couple days to search for others like him.

A couple days after returning home and telling his parents of this,he would board the ship, hoping to one day become a Knight, hopefully of his own homeworld.

Other: "I shall Master my Heart!"

And now for some lines from two different RPs I was in...though both are villian roles.

first here's a couple links to my RP skill. my most recent IC post: Land of Magic

    Kingdom Hearts: Ultima

    Name: Vortio Segon

    Age: 59

    Gender: Male

    Appearance:
140 by Karyn Lewis ADOPTED by ~portraitadoption on deviantART
Vortio wears a long green cloak that covers his entire body. He stands at 6 feet tall and weighs almost 220 pounds. Underneath the cloak are a few scars from his time out on the frontlines of the universe.

Personality: Vortio is very slow in his choices, he's learned from experience that you mustn't rush things. He fully debates his decisions in his head before making his choice. Vortio is very kind, always willing to help a student and let a small transgression go. Vortio however is very strict in that he will not give second chances. Against evil, he does not even bother to listen to the enemies excuse, the universe must be rid of evil of any kind.

    Keyblade: It's called Pathfinder.
Keyblade: Pathfinder by ~PhoenixTrooper on deviantART

Magic: As head of the school, Vortio is the strongest master there. He knows how to use every type of spell and can even combine spells for new effects. While Vortio can do multiple spells, he prefers to simply do barriers rather than straight offense.

Peripheries: While Vortio hasn't tried in years, he was born with the ability to see small amounts into the someones future. However the effort drains him so he rarely does it. To use his skill, Vortio must place his hand on the persons head. He can't use the ability on himself though.

History: Vortio was born in what eventually became known as Twilight Town. Vortio was discovered by a Knight sent to guard the world. The knight notified the Academy and they sent a Master to locate all keybearers on the planet. It was only a week later when Vortio and three others were taken to the academy. Vortio was a prized student, excelling in everything he was taught. Teachers loved him and the Masters were debating over who would take him on as an apprentice. When Vortio graduated he was taken by a wise master from Destiny Islands. He traveled the galaxy with his master, learning more magic and combat while studying new things for the Academy. When Vortio was granted the rank of Master, he returned to the Academy. He had loved it while he was there and felt that he wanted to share his expierence with the new students. He taught magic for many years before the 7 High Masters felt he should become one of them. However he politely refused, wanting to stay with the Academy. So they did the next best thing, they made him the Headmaster of the School. Vortio has been here ever since, teaching where he can and helping the students learn the ways of the masters.

Other: Vortio loves to pass the time reading things in the library or expieramenting to discover new magic. Most times when people nned him he'll be so wrapped up in what he was doing that he won't even notice anybody is around.

    Gender: femaile
    Appearance:
Skye is an average 13 year old girl standing about 5'5". Skye has bright blue eyes and shoulder length straight blonde hair. She wears a typicale academy uniform(if there's one) and/or grey, girl's, cargo capris with a blue tang top with a white short blouse warn sort of like a jacket. She has a lucky uncut diamond necklace on in the shape of a heart that belonged to her mother when she was her age. She wears simple blue running shoes.

Personality: Skye is sort of a tough girl. She follows the rules and many say she can easily become a master by the time she's 18. She also acts like a leader for fellow students to look up to her as. She works hard and refuses to give up on anything. Skye is also very friendly, and when she doesn't need to be serious, she can be very cool and funny. Skye takes her learning of being a keybearer very serious.
Keyblade: kingdom key( silver key part and blue sort of surrounding handel thing. blue mickey mouse head keychain attatched) http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs37/f/2008/285/e/d/Royal_Kingdom_Key_by_DavidCruz.jpg
Magic: Skye cannot do spells, however she has been studying on spells and she has a feeling she will be able to do spells soon.
Peripheries: She can sense something wrong or when something bad is going to happen
History: Skye grew up in a small family living in Destiny Island. Her family isn't that rich of a family or a respected family for the matter. Her older brother has been caught stealing and a lot more causing more problems for Skye and her family. Constatly in school she was teased about it, nobody wanted to be her friend. From that time she knew she had to prove them wrong, prove them that the McGomery family.

Skye didn't have the slightest clue on how to do that though, she tried to volunteer in Destiny Island, but it still didn't seem to do anything. Then she discovered "the book". The book is a family treasure, it is a journal of Skye's grandfather, a keyblade master, a well respected one. Her mother gave it to her to give her some hope that the McGomery's aren't bad.

Skye read her grandfather's journal and his adventures teaching students and apprentences and all of his great adventures. She also learned though very young unlike other keyblade masters, he passed away, it was unknown how. Reading her grandfather's journal expired her to try and work hard to become a keybearer.

Skye grew up trying hard to be able to become a keybearer, but it seemed like it was pointless. She didn't give up yet, until the day of the fire. Skye was about 11 years old when her family home caught flames from her brother smoking with his friends. Skye was out with friends thankfully and when she came home she saw the fire. She then noticed something, passed out on the living room floor was her mother. Her father wasn't home and when the fire started, her brother ran off. No one was there to save her. Quickly without thinking, Skye ran into the house to try and save her mother. She ran inside and found her mother and shook her mother awake. Her mother looked up at her surprised. She remebered what her mother said... "Skye, get out of here, I don't want to see you get hurt". Skye shook her head and slowly started dragging her mother out of the house that's when suddenly the second floor caved in. It pushed Skye forward and had her trapped in the corner. Skye heard her mother screaming to Skye and in pain as Skye smelled her mother's flesh burning. Skye watched as her mother slowly burned, finally firefighters showed up, Skye still trapped but was saved by the firefighters.

Skye from that day knew she couldn't be a hero, she couldn't save her mother, stop her brother, or even save herself. Skye had given up all hopes from that day. She lived with her father helping out her father in his shop, that's all she believed would happen from then on.

By the time Skye was 12 years old, Scourgers showed up looking for new keybearers. Her father encouraged her to go find these Scourgers but she refused. After what had happened to her mother during the fire. She couldn't. Skye watched from her bedroom though as some kids went and tried to impress the scourges in being a keybearer. Then the day came. Skye was walking through town when she spotted an old man struggling with crates of supplies for his shop, without thinking Skye ran over and helped the old man. She was unaware of the scourge watching for someone to help the old man. The old man thanked her and tried to give her some accessories but Skye refused saying the reward to her was just getting to help him. From that day, secretly the scourger watched her. Just doing natural chores of helping out in the shop, gathering coconuts or other things to make potions. The scoure saw how strong she was and the strength of her heart, they knew she had a calling to be a keybearer. There was a problem, she didn't have a keyblade, at least not yet.

Eventually though, Skye did recieve a keyblade, when she was least expecting it too. It was the day before her 13th birthday. All day she kept having a feeling that something was going to happen. Her father just told her that she needed to go out and just go for a walk. She did and decide to row to the other island. There she just stayed all day until suddenly something was telling her that something bad was going to come from the cave on the island. Skye though showed no fear and decided to investigate hoping to just calm her nerves. It didn't. Upon entering the cave the next thing she knows is she's surrounded by creatures from the dark. She remebered yelling really loud "What are these things". From this, on what was going to be the scouragers last day on that world quickly though went to investigate.

In the meantime, Skye had to defend herself in some way. She picked up a stick and tried fighting the creatures off, but it seemed pointless. Soon they launched at her, she was buried alive, she was surrounded by darkness, until she saw a small light. Quickly Skye reached for the light and the next thing she knew she held a weird key shape sword in her hand, it was an origin keyblade. Without thinking though Skye got ready to fight the creatures, and she did. She was brutally attacked, she wouldn't lie about that, she went through a lot of pain but finally defeated all the creatures. She stood there leaning on the keyblade ready to colapse from exhaustion when she saw the scouragers run in and look at her surprise, she remebered what they said right before collapsing out, they called the weapon in Skye's hand a keyblade.

When Skye awoken from her fight she was in her room, stuff packed in boxes. She sat up and saw her father walk in along with the scourgers. they then explained about the creatures of the dark and she got a keyblade and was chosen to be a keybearer and was going to go to the academy.

Skye has one simple thing about the acedemy, she will not fail, she will work hard, and become one of the best students there.

Other Things Important About Skye- Skye enjoys reading and studying hard. She trains hard trying to find access to train usually more than required and likes doing research on past keyblade masters and magic. One thing that makes her mad is when people say she can't do something and she gets really mad if people bring anything up about her past and what happened. Skye's ultimate goal is to become an important Keyblade Master like her grandfather.
