Karin's Tale

yeah, this is my work from another forum after playing a non stop shadow hearts marathon I decided to try and write a story, so I want as much advice as possible on how to make the chapters I write any better, This is jyst the prologue as I have writers block and am struggling to think of an opening sequence for something.
So here it is.

, I decided I'd try to make a story, Incorporating the characters of shadow hearts covenent and from the new world. So I decided what better place than here, Where I can get help and advice.

So here goes :

Prologue: Possessed Puppet.

" Cornnelia, Dance for the kids. " Gepetto's voice echoed through the theatre, wood clanked, as the little puppet tapped along the stage. All the children giggled.

" Cornelia, come back. " Gepetto said, as the little girl hurried back to her father. the children watched in awe as the girl jumped onto the old man's knee.

" How does he do it!" A child screamed out.

" How do I do it, Let me show you something else, Cornelia, You're sailing the sea's, What costume should you wear ?" Gepetto asked cornelia. Cornelia ran towards her sassy sailor outfit and put it on at lighning speed. She then ran back to Gepetto.

" Well done cornelia! " Gepetto patted cornelia on her back and smiled at her. Cornelia smiled back.

" WOW! " the kids sais in awe, mouths open, staring at cornelia.

" Show's Over kids, Time to get going" Gepetto said, the kids stood up and clapped Gepetto, they then ran out of the doors and soon, Gepetto and Cornelia were left alone.

" A pretty Impressive show, It's ashame you never entertained us with that." Said someone.

" Who.... Who is that ? " Gepetto asked. Stepping away from the shadows, a beautiful ginger- haired girl stepped forward to hug Gepetto.

" Oh Gepetto, you old fool, It's been a long time " Karin said.

" Why... Karin, Yes it has, How's Blanca." Said Gepetto. " after all, She's travelled with you ever since.... the incident " Gepetto said.

" Cheer up Gep, Ask Blanca yourself " Karin said, as a white haired wolf came howling into the theatre, the wolf jumped up at Gepetto, and started licking him.

" Oh Blanca, How are you ?, I've missed you" Gepetto said. the dog sat down, and let Gepetto fuss her. " Cornelia, We're going to step outside, You'll be alright here, Won't you?" Gepetto said to the girl puppet. The puppet nodded. Karin and Gepetto stepped outside, with blanca following quickly.

" Ah, Good times " Karin said.

" Yes they were, How's about we go somewhere together, you know, We could go and see the rest of our old gang, And Also, we could visit Yur..." Gepetto stopped. Karin wiped her left eye.

" It's not a grave, we didn't have his body, It's a place to remember her, right next to Alice, Where I know he wanted to be " Karin said, standing firm, she tried to liven up the tone of her voice. " Yeah, that'd be great Gep" She said, giggling, they both walked back inside the theatre. the curtains were ripped, and the chair's were torn apart, scratches were made in the wooden centre stage, and a harmless little girl was sat in the middle of the destruction.

" Who did this" Karin said. " How did they get in here " Karin said.

" Well the entrance is the only way in, and we were stood there." Gepetto said, he walked up to the girl- puppet, and nudged her. the puppet began laughing wildly, and turned to face the old man.

" Cornelia? "Gepetto said, not so confident he was right.

 

Chapter 1

“Gepetto, Let’s get going” Karin said.

“Yes, yes, I’m just packing Cornelia, then we can go” Gepetto snapped back at Karin.

“Ok Gep, Let’s go” Seeing that Cornelia was packed, she began walking towards the boat at Le Harve. Gepetto followed behind with Blanca pacing next to Karin. Karin looked left, then right, staring at the sailors.

“They look worried” Karin said to Gepetto, walking over to a sailor. “What’s the matter?” Karin asked the sailor.

“g.g…ghost, in the warehouse….. Can’t…get su…supplies” The sailor stuttered. He was shaking violently.

“A ghost, eh” Gepetto said, rubbing his beard. He began walking backwards and forwards. “What do we do Karin?” Gepetto asked. Karin took out her Rapier and nodded to Gepetto.

“Let’s go take a look!” she said, brimming with excitement.

“Ok then, Ladies first” Gepetto said, bowing to Karin.

“As you wish” Karin said, strutting into the warehouse unafraid, whilst Gepetto waddled behind, shivering. Karin put her hand out to stop Gepetto from walking.

“Listen!” She told him. She could hear faint mumbles from the other end of the warehouse.

Dang sailors, if it weren’t for the boat setting of I could leave here and go back to working on my combobulator machine. The voice echoed throughout the warehouse. Karin lowered her hand, and began sprinting towards the source of the voice. She looked left and right. No-one. She looked up on the ceiling. No-one still.

“Hey, missy, mind gettin off of my foot!” the voice said.

“That couldn’t be, Roger!” Karin said, crouching down and picking up the ghost. “They said you were a Ghost!” Karin said.

“A ghost, I may be bone and skin, But I’m no ghost, and my names Albert” the small, skinny creature said. “No wait, my name is Roger, Karin is that you?” Roger said.

“Yes, it’s me! And Gepetto’s here too!” she said, waving her hand at the hunched man behind her.

“Long time no see” Gepetto said.

“Likewise, so what are you doing here?” roger said. Gazing at the old man.

“We were on our way to see the rest of our old gang” Karin butted in.

“What a coincidence” Roger said. “I was on my way to visit Lucia and Joachim, they haven’t left each others sides, they both stay at Carla’s fortune telling house” Roger Said.

“Really?” Karin, puzzled, asked.

“ Yes, It seems Lucia has something interesting to tell, she asked me to come over, so I came in my ship, but crash-landed in this warehouse” Roger said. “I had to keep the sailors away, so I pretended to be a ghost, and I finished repairing my ship a few hours ago, but the sailors won’t let me out” Roger said.

“We’ll move them for you” Karin said, she hurried back outside to where all of the sailors were gathered. She took a deep breath in, and yelled.

“THE GHOST IS COMING! TAKE COVER!!” She said. The sailors began running wildly into one another, boarding the ship and heading into the lower levels. A giant air-ship came zooming out of the warehouse, it then landed in front of Karin and Gepetto. Roger walked outside.

“Come on in, We’re off to see Lucia, Carla and Joachim” Roger said plodding inside after Karin, Blanca and Gepetto. As they all sat down, Roger pulled the ships controls backwards, flying up into the air.

“This may get bumpy!” Roger said, making the ship go faster.

 

Chapter 2

“ROGER!” Karin ran over to the 600 year old human, and slapped him. “Why did you have to land like that?” Karin said, turning away from roger and sighing.

“I guess that means we’re on foot from here on out” Gepetto said, with Blanca eagerly woofing at his side. He strode forward, and began walking forwards.

“But you don’t know where that leads” Karin shouted to Gepetto, who was still walking.

“Well. It’s a path, so it leads SOMEWHERE!” Gepetto replied.

“Erm, what about me, you’re going to leave me here to die!” Roger said. A tear ran down his cheek.

“We’ve left you like this before, so you can fix the ship while we’re out, OKAY!” Karin said, staring down roger. She ran and caught up to Gepetto, and began walking alongside him and Blanca.

“That took us a while” Karin said, staring at the giant blue castle in front of her. “It looks posh, Shall we go in” Karin asked Gepetto.

“I don’t know it kind of gives me the creeps, and that’s a bad thing.” Gepetto said, rubbing his hands together for warmth.

“Well it’s this or we go walking for miles, besides, you get the creeps when it’s cold, so how can you tell for sure.” Karin said, calmly, she grabbed hold of Gepetto’s arm and began dragging him in. Once she got Gepetto inside, she let go of him. She began to look around.

“Not exactly a nice place is it” Karin said, looking at the scratched walls with dried blood, the torn furniture, and the cobwebs on the ceiling. Gepetto walked to her side.

“I can’t see Lucia or Joachim livi…..” Gepetto stopped talking; He looked around as a voice began to talk.

Joachim? What’s his second name? The voice questioned.

“Valentine, Why?” Karin said.

Well, I suppose you’re welcome here if you know Joachim. The voice said as a man appeared in front of Karin and Gepetto. He had blonde hair and looked no older than his early 30’s.

“My name’s Keith valentine, I am related to Joachim Valentine” Keith said.

“You’re related to Joachim Valentine?” Gepetto asked.

“Yes, and so is Hildegard, We’re all vampires you see.” Keith said, looking into Karin’s eyes. Karin began to walk backwards, towards the door.

“No, we’re not the blood sucking leeches that everyone thinks is a vampire, Joachim never sucked you’re blood did he?” Keith said.

“No, Never” Karin replied.

“Karin, you’re Karin koenig, you used to know Yuri Hyuga, Right?” Keith asked politely.

“Yes, I did, how did you know?” Karin said.

“ I used to travel with Yuri after he invaded my home, I was bored so I went along with him, when we all went our separate ways, he kept in contact with me, and kept on telling me about a ‘Karin Koenig’” Keith said.

“ He did!” Karin said, blushing.

“Yes, he did, and since you look like you’re on some sort of journey, I’m coming with you” Keith said. “But first, I need to show you something.” Keith said hesitantly.

Brother! You can’t leave me! Another voice echoed around the castle.

“But you see, Hildegard, I can, If I don’t go, it’s no more beauty magazines for you” Keith said.

“NO! You can’t take my magazines away from me; you’d spoil this beauty of a lady’s heart” Hildegard said, walking forwards with a fluffy black dress on, with giant pink shoes. “You can go, bye!” Hilda said.

“Thank you, But first, you must see the cell, Follow me” Keith said to Karin and Gepetto, walking towards a giant blue door. He opened the door, and began walking up the stairs.

“How many stairs are there?” Gepetto asked.

“A mere 300 I think” Keith said, as Gepetto’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.

“Phew!” Karin said, looking down the giant flight of stairs. “We made it” She said.

“ This is the cell where Yuri chained himself up, After saving shanghai from the evil doer Dehuai, Yuri went insane and chained himself up here to stop anyone else getting hurt.” Keith said, showing Karin the inside of the cell. “But eventually, His Friends Alice Elliot and Zhuzen Liu found him, and with my help, we snapped him out of insanity” Keith said.

“I never knew Yuri went mad” Karin said.

“Of course he did, No- one can fuse with a god, No-one” Gepetto said. Keith walked to Gepetto’s side.

“He’s right” Keith said, reinforcing Gepetto’s statement. “But aren’t we supposed to be going somewhere, Let’s GO!” Keith said, thrusting his hand into the air.
