Well, after thinking it over thoroughly, I've decided that I will again attempt to set up a tournament. possibly using the Arena as the medium through which it is held. For this tournament in particular, I will require at the very least, 5 others in order to make it work. But I'd prefer if 7 others were to compete, in order to round out the numbers, and whatnot. It will be separated into 3 rounds, in which the competitors are separated into brackets, based on who wins and looses each match. From there, each bracket formed from the previous round will battle within itself. In other words: After round 1, the winners and losers will be separated into brackets, and winners will battle against other winners, and losers against other losers (mind you, 'loser' is being used loosely). In this, everyone will be allowed to participate in the tournament all the way through.

Due to the nature of this tournament, a player may switch to different characters between rounds, provided that they provide a link to the profile of each character as they intend to use them. I (and anyone with legitimate reason) withhold the right to deny the use of any character that is submitted. I will, of course, be fair in my judgment of whether or not a character should be considered legal for use. Some characters may be allowed after editing, others could be simply banned for entry, depending on the nature of said character, and other variables calculated.

For the sake of judging, the judges for each battle will consist of members of the tournament. We should ALL be mature enough to look at the battles objectively, and use logic, and reasoning to determine the winner. Basically, I don't want this being a popularity contest, where people only win their matches because people like them, which I am confident won't be the case. But that has to be said. But then, what SHOULD we be looking for when judging? The answer: 2 things. One is writing, of course, looking at such properties of each post pertaining to grammar, spelling, layout of the post, and to a bit lesser of a degree, the aesthetic pleasure of reading someone's post. The second, as this is a roleplaying tournament, is the actual roleplaying. How well does the combatant play his or her character? And how well do they handle to attacks carried out be others?

So, if you've the interest, post a character up, or a link to one that you've already made, and let's get this thing going!!!

I went over that in my first post Zer. Hopefully arena traffic will stay low through this tourney, so that both arenas Alpha and Beta can be used to expedite the process.

Though I will state that I don't intend for this to follow the point docking system.

 

There are some things that I think you should expand upon, like exactly how she is psychic. It's a bit ambiguous to simply state that a character is psychic. And what is the scope of her healing ability?

 

Why should I have to ask? I think it's safe to say that the arena is a community run system. You aren't the only one who can manage it, and start events. And seeing as traffic has been low, I figured that I'd make use of it.

 

BUT I never did say that we were definitely using the arena for this event. I do recall I stated that it MIGHT use those threads. Otherwise, I'd have just made a separate thread entirely. In fact, why not start an official tournament thread? Then we can operate the free arena even with a tournament taking place.

This is why I wish there were a subsection.

 

Who's spamming? We were having a legit discussion about the proceedings of this RP event. That's not spamming, even if it was a bit argumentative. And it's over (the "spamming", that is).
