This is a story i'm writing, it's part mystory and part horror

    Prolog

Zach stretched his long thin arms as he looked down the road. He was an oddity to be seen on his way home from college in Asheville North Carolina. Unlike everyone else who rode cars Zach preferred to ride one of the horses he and his father owned. Some people thought he was weird, some thought his was a novelty but to his friends he was a scarecrow. He was just shy of being six foot two and weighed very little over a hundred and ten pounds. His long brown hair looked like straw anyways and he always had a crooked smile without showing any of his teeth. He just claimed that was natural to him. Riding a horse, no book bag or pencil to show where he had been. Just a small satchel on the horse full of what he called necessary evils. Carrots, a knife, a few books and worse of all, his cell phone. He rode in the middle of the road when his cell phone rang loudly in it’s bag. He hated needing it but since he worked with a bunch of his friends it would go off many times a day. He looked down at it and saw it was his best friend Charles Hewy.
“Sup Chewy?” Zach said, the nickname didn’t really have much of a story so Zach didn’t even think about it.
“Well, I have been working out a deal, and I got me, you and our girls a nice sized house in Florida and we would have our own office building right next door. Zach we are moving up in the world!” Charles’ voice exclaimed through the phone happy and anxious.
“I’m glad man, I was starting to get worried with what’s been going on.” Zach said recalling the fact that a young drug dealer had been found headless only three days ago.
“What are you talking about?” Charles asked.
“The man found with his head cut off, it’s like something from a horror story right?” Zach said as he rode, no thoughts as to where just letting his horse lead him.
“Yea, well, I didn’t pay much attention to the news. Listen I have to call Sara and Lynn about this, you can tell Dakota and your dad ok?” Charles said before Zach agreed and hung the phone up. He looked down the rode and saw a bunch of local vultures around something. They had been out in force since the middle of February. As he got nearer the smell hit him hard, it must have been a calf or a small horse cause the smell was strong and there were a lot of vultures. As Zach got close he noticed a bit of cloth on one of the birds heads so he dismounted and approached sending the birds into the air leaving a putrid rotting carcass on the side of the road without a head.
