Harry Potter RP - How can we get this right?

    Ventus Kickass Keyblader!

    We've tried quite a few times but now that everyone has watched (rather than read) all of Harry Potter, it may be easier to start one. Any ideas? Do you think we should do this? Would you join? I might redo an already existing HP plot I came up with.

    I think it might be healthy for the RP to NOT make it a Harry Potter RP, but simply make an RP that's based within the Harry Potter world. Granted, that's just because I prefer to give original characters, unrelated to the main cast, a limelight.

    I agree. That's how I think RPs should go that are in an already established universe.

    And can we have one as to where it is not in relation to the Harry Potter Deathly Hollow relics at all?! I was very irritated but I didn't want to say anything (Since it would most likely have some of you start yelling at me as though I attacked all of you) even if it was in relation to the book or movie because even in the book, Harry said that if he dies, then the Elder Wand would lose all of its powers so I was quite unstable on the topic of the three relics and that there are three successors. That is how I think anyways since I was thinking by realism of the books.

    -___- And if you are actually going to do a roleplay, at least post. Doesn't matter if it is six sentences, at least we have something so that we can still progress. Well... Noz is not around since he was upset because he cannot even post anything at all.

    Harry Potter is one of those properties that is labeled "Do not touch" for me. It just feels wrong for me to be doing anything, even if it isn't within the original canon.

    I think it's been proven throughout time of RP'ing(I have seen some successful fanfic's written though) Harry Potter just doesn't work.

    @Summoner, I wasn't planning to go into detail I made something Harry Potter, complex, but not super complex.

    I would go with what Desert said. Maybe make a RP not specifically about Harry Potter or Hogwarts but in the universe. So perhaps maybe have another school somewhere else in the world(like Canada :D) with a school of witchcraft and wizardry. Change somethings such as perhaps even allowing other Harry Potter creatures to attend(like we've seen goblins, trolls, etc. in the Harry Potter world, maybe they can get educated as well on the art of magic) and perhaps the RP can make tiny hints about the dark arts war in Europe or whatever that way it shows its part of the same universe.
