Eastern Promises

Alex sat down with his food at the banquets table.Alia soon came down and sat next to him,"I've got to say something to her." Alex said continuing the conversation,
"Just ask her to a meal." Alex stared at Alia as if she had just said the stupidist thing in the world,which in a way she had,
"She is a princess,I can't just say that." She sighed,
"Go see her then,and if your going to see her now,can I have your meat?" Alex pushed the plate to her and walked away,"I'll take that as a yes."

Alex was at the bottom of the castle,and Art's room was at the top,this wasn't going to be easy.He was a mage though,so he just distracted the numerous guards.He got to the top and began to walk through the halls,he slowly opened the door to Art's room."Art,hi I was just...." He looked around,
"Art......?"
He stepped out and saw Art crying on the floor a few doors along,he ran over and sat with her,"Art?What's wrong?"

 

Alex was suprised from the hug,and a bit more suprised at what she said,"What?Where has he gone,and more to the point,why?"

Alia stood up from her meal,she finished her rum and walked off,"Alex has been a while.Better go see him." She walked up the flights of stairs,suprised that the guards were all,well,ummm not there.She got to Art's room and saw Alex with Art,Art crying."I guess it worked,but why is she crying." She thought to herself.She crouched in the darkness listening in on their conversation.

 

Alex looked at her,wondering why she didn't finish,he looked up."Errr..."

Alia turned around in shock,she put her hands over her mouth,"So now we go and find him and bring him back....oh great." she whispered.She looked back as the door opened,"Oh...."

 

"Come on Enkidu!Pick it up!"

"Yes sir!"Enkidu,a new soldier for the Arcadian army,replied.Currently he and the regiment he had been placed in were in the mountains for a 'light jog.'

"Light jog,yea,and Im the king of Atolla."Enkidu said to himself.Sometimes he cursed his luck,no moreso then now being in the regiment led by the great warrior and biggest eccentric Gilgamesh.

 

"Father has given me orders to travel to the east and rescue Albain before it is too late. Your assistance is neccesary, as his majesty wishes. Alex, Alia, sister, you shall be part of this voyage too. His majesty orders that I round up all imperial troops. With I as leader, we shall leave tonight. Albain only left this morning, he couldn't of gotten far. Once all of our troops are gathered, we shall leave. Sister, father asks for your presence in the throne room"

 

Alia bit her lip,she didn't know what to do.

Alex stood up,"But...the tome,what if the arcadians get the tome,then what?"

Alia also stood,she came out of the shadows,"He's right,if the Arcadians take the tome,they have the power to completley destoy Artolia."

 

"I'm glad someone sees sense!", Kazan said with a sly tone. "Sister, you would worry about the lives of a few troops over the fate of your country? Regardless of what we think, our majesty has given us orders, and it is my duty as an imperial troop to carry them out, as it is for you too"

Kazan walked to the door frame, and turned around, facing the trio. "Our country is in danger, and we must combine our forces together to ensure that the the Domsday Tome is not retrieved" Kazan left the room, thinking of what his sister said. "Erin...", he whispered to himself. Kazan thought back to his days of sword training, Erin was the one who taught him. Kazan always aspired to be like him. Erin was extremely skilled, but even more so was one of Kazan's friends.

 

Alia leaned to Alex and whispered in his ear,"Now would be a good time to do something." Alex nodded and span Art around to face him,he looked into her eyes."Art,I don't mind dying,neither does..." Alia frowned,"umm me,but Art,we have to go." Alia tapped Alex on the shoulder,as if to say"Kiss her you idiot." But Alex was shy,and just finished talking.

 

"I'm well aware of such, sister, but what will standing around arguing do! Orders are orders, we must stop the Arcadian advance to the east, whether you like it or not. I know its a big step to take, but we must stick together on this. You think I don't have the intentions of our land in heart? Come, father wishes to see you. Alex, Alia, you may accompany her, my father wishes to see you too"

 

Alex watched her walk down the halls,"Alia,could you see the king while I talk to Art?" Alia nodded as Alex ran down the halls. Alex slowly opened the doors to Art's room,"Art..."

Alia walked into the Kings room and bowed,"You called me,sir?"

 

"As you wish sister, but stuborness will lead you nowhere. Your friend's Alex and Alia will
be coming too, so you may stay here in the castle on your own if you wish. But remember this, while we fight out there, and you stay here, wallowing in sadness, you will never be able to stop thinking about your friends and whether they still breathe or not! Could you live with that? If so, stay here, by all means. If not, I advise you hurry up and get ready"

Kazan, left to report to his father. Evening drew near, as did the time to round up the troops. Kazan didn't believe in wasting time, especially at times like this. People always thought he was cold and unfriendly, but he was actually quite the opposite. He was just headstrong, and determined

 

Kundiso was target praticing in the courtyard, He had greatly inproved throwing Kuni and spears and was having a compitition with one of the guards.

"Another perfect shot" Kundiso said as he hit the bulls eye

"Ill take my winnings" He said smiling to the guards as they walked away

 

With new orders of rounding up the troops, Kazan went on his way. While the rest of the kings footsoldiers went about preparing, Kazan was ordered to round up the higher ranking imperial troops, which Kazan was leader of. He remembered Kundiso asked him to meet him in the courtyard, he had something he wanted to tell him.
