DirectTV/Viacom Dispute

If your TV service is DirectTV then you obviously have noticed that Direct has cut more than 12 of Viacom's channels such as Nickelodean, BET, Comedy Central, Spike, CMT, MTV, TVLand etc. It's mainly about money. Viacom wants more for their channels and Direct isn't haven't it.

Viacom posted an image on Facebook of the Nickelodeon character SpongeBob SquarePants with the words, “Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? I don’t know. I have DirecTV.”

Well it looks like we will be out of luck when it comes to watching Snooki, Dora, and Andy Griffin.

I'm seeing a couple of different stories here, but it sounds to me like Viacom is getting a little greedy. Especially when you see that Viacom's execs are among the highest paid in the industry. Yet they still need to squeeze the customers for every penny they can? I say screw 'em. My nephew will survive without Nickelodeon, and I think that's pretty much the only Viacom channel we really watch anyhow.

And I have to say that the Spongebob pic is pretty unprofessional and makes Viacom look very childish.

You make it sound like that is a bad thing.

Let's be honest here (Ignoring any sort of legal issues), what do they have on TV that you can't find online?

Apparently DirecTV made the same comment, and Viacom got huffy and took down all of the shows that they usually offer online. Though of course there are still other places to find them if you wanted.
