I wanted to know is it okay to use someone else's RP that has already died? What if the person doesnt get on anymore so it makes it hard to get permission to ask? Would it be okay to just use the idea but reinvent/remake it but still give them credit for it? i know iasked this question before but now im asking this in a different way so i understand what i can and can't when it comes to RP'ing

This is usually a case-by-case thing. I've asked permission of another RPer to use their RP idea in an attempt to retry the RP. They were more than hospitable in giving me permission.

If the RPer no longer maintains activity on the forums (thus making it difficult or impossible) to get a hold of them, then it would stand to reason that there would be no harm in attempting the RP - though I would imagine using your own ideas to make it more original wouldn't hurt.

In addition, you should be sure to give credit for the RP to those who originally set it forth.

My rule for it is ask the original creator. If they're inactive or gone then speak to the RP mod(me) and they'll give you a seal of approval. That way if something arises like they come back and wonder why it's been reproduced, they can speak to the RP mod and you won't run into issues.

For all RP's like that, original credit must be given.
