Aloof Debates #2

Mwhahahaha! Welcome to the Second in my list of debates! Yes, that's right list.

Any ways I'll get to the topic quickly this time. Now that you have familiarized yourself -hopefully- with my first Aloof Debate here is the second topic:

Why do you live?

What I mean is what do you strive for. What do you believe your purpose is. Better yet, lets make this thread about What do you believe the purpose of life is? More adequately put, I'm saying "What do you believe is the meaning to life?"

Clear enough? Good. Debate!

 

So here you say the meaning of life is to fight. To never rest. To seek out the next battle and continue on living. Interesting.

So despite your meaning of life [battle] you can still take pleasures in it. Are these battles the pleasure you take from life? And others try and take this away from you. Is that just your P.o.V. because you view life as a battle? These people you are talking about, they want what you have so they try and take it from you?

Now you're saying you live life because there is a reward? Hmm... I don't agree with that. Why should I continue living just because there might be some reward for me at the end? Okay, yes life has mysteries and I wouldn't say it is a gift per-say. Gifts are given to us, not thrust on us. We don't choose to live. That's forced on us and we are made to except it other wise die.

And quite the contrary Brandon, we can waste it or destroy it. You -however- are trying to say that it is wrong to waste it or destroy it.

 

Okay well then that covers that, but what about my other point(s)?

 

Now Answer, here is where I bring in my other Aloof debate: fear.

I will use this a lot because ... well. Just watch.

I believe there is not true meaning to life. We believe there is a meaning to life because we are afraid that there is no real meaning. We don't want there to be no meaning because that would mean our lives are meaningless. To which we serve no purpose other than we are simply there.

Death is a thing of the body, not the mind. If you believe your mind carries on into another life then it is only a physical experience in which your mind falls victim to the physical experiences of your body.

 

There is only meaning if you want there to be meaning. I am perfectly content myself that there is none.

And you might want to familiarize yourself with the phrase "cogito ergo sum" or "I think there for I am."

Would you say that there are three laws that we know about when we are born?

And Nose: It's fine I understand. You believe in the .. I forget what it's called, Random Theory or something like that?

 

Let's not bring in God to this. That just makes things messy. Then we get people fighting about the differences about their God(s) and a bunch of what if's about more than one God and what they want with our lives. Yadda yadda. Toss out the bible right now. This is you and you alone. Not religion to back you up. I don't trust the words of men/women who wrote a book how ever many centuries ago to and tell me how I should live my life for a paradise I might not even want.

Nose: I believe it's the Chaos Theory.

 

You don't have to be sorry. I just don't like bringing in the subject of God and religion in places you don't really need to bring it in. If I came off as harsh I apologize. It just really irritates me when people rather fall back on what they've been told about life rather than think about it.
