Well, you could also include short stories, plays, and poetry, etc in this thread, too.

So which are the books that you own that have dog-eared corners and broken covers from being read so much? Why are they favorites?

    ---
I have a lot of favorites, because I read all the time. But if I had to just pick a few, they'd be:

*Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell. I love the time period (Civil War era was always my favorite to discuss in school) and the characters were all extremely interesting. Scarlett does a lot of really stupid things for a smart woman, and this reminds me a bit of myself. Rhett Bulter is love.

*Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I enjoy all of Austen's work, but this one would be my favorite. Elizabeth is a smart, witty heroine in a time when that wouldn't be so desirable, and Mr. Darcy is the kind of arrogant, asshole character with a heart of gold that I enjoy reading about. Kinda like Rhett Butler, hmm. Again, I also enjoy the time period Austen writes about (I should've been born in the past).

*Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I like coming-of-age tales. This one is full of likeable characters. I can sit and read through this in a day or two. And it can still make me cry.

*Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. The rest of the books on this list I've loved for years, but this one is a new edition. It has very likeable and interesting characters, and the storyline sucked me right in.

I'll probably add to this list later. >_<
