    The Team to be Challenged!
    http://www.khplanet.com/forums/184110-post2.html
    http://www.khplanet.com/forums/270806-post2.html

    Location:

Within an unknown plane of existance, surrounded by a thin white-gray cloud of mist, this battle is to be determined upon a series of unfathomably high stone pillars. Each pillar drops off into the depths of the mist, beyond which is unknown. They are roughly four feet in diameter, and spaced about four feet apart. the warriors start off at opposite ends if the arena, appearing as mere shadows to their foe on the other side.

    Rules!
The way this works is the challengers (That's you guys) must be two and only two characters. Preferably, by two different people. The challengers then have one person go first (After an initial round of 'entry posts' - similar to a character's entrance in any fighting game), then me or Zhyraid go, and then it progresses IN ORDER for about ten posts per person. Standard knockout and sudden death rules.

    (Did I cover everything?)

    Looks alright.

    Name- Ryan Cross
    Age- 19
    Gender- M
Apperance- Has short red hair, and stands at 5'10". He has a fine tuned physic with lean muscle. He usually wears a black jacket with white coloring and zipper, and blue jeans under his black over coat. He also wears black dress shoes to match the rest of his attire. His eyes are green, and his skin is quite pale.
Bio- Ryan is a B ranked member of the AMS (Aura Management Society). His powers revolve around aura, an energy field that surrounds most living things. Through the use of aura he can use telekinesis, release the full potential of his body (super human speed and all that but with great limits), and can summon a special sword to help him in battle. He has been on several missions during the course of his career, most of which were successful, and now patrols West Chester Pennsylvania.

Personality- Cool Calm Collected, he rarely goes into fights hoping to talk things out. That said his battle strength is not something to take lightly.
Weapon- Firi (a simple sword about as long as his arm.)
Second form: Firi Rechio (a red chain blade with a silver hilt. The chain is thought to be capable of limitless extension, but Ryan has never gotten it past 10 meters without massive amounts of concentration. The actual limit with concentration is 13 meters. After three strikes the weapon must return to its condensed state. Special Attack: Chains of Flame (The chain is surrounded by flames and can cut through most metals and rocks. Aura weapons and thick boulders are an exception to this rule. The blade is temporarily release from the strike limit though the flame vanishes if one of three happens; it is exposed to water, Ryan releases the skill, or seven strikes are reached. The drain for this skill is low so Ryan tends to rely on it though it still takes more power than not using it.)
Final Form: Firi Rechio Mendona (The ultimate form of an aura users weapon. In this form his blade transforms into a a blade made out of a chinese long dragon. The weapon is capable of breathing fire and can extend to 20 meters and beyond (20 is his limit though). Because he is not good at using this form yet Ryan only uses it as a last resort. He can only sustain it for a minute and then he must concede defeat. Weapon special attack: Roar of the Dragon (a massive fire ball that obliterates all in its path.))
Powers: Aside from his weapon he can create and control Fire, and use minor psycic abilities such as telekensis, strengthening his body, healing minor injuries, and partially healing bad injuries. He can also deflect some projectiles with a flame wall technique though metal objects usually get through. (swords and other metal weapons WILL GET HOT. Don't post like the weapon is cold still.)
    Theme- None.

I've no clue. Most likely DW, maybe Destiny. I'm also contemplating asking Hope, if she's interested. They're the only ones I'd fully trust with such responsibility. Also, Z, feel free to recruit your own partner, unless you'd rather wait and team with whoever else shows up.

It'd be much appreciated if you could give a more elaborate explanation of their powers.

Ryan stroke out into the open were the arena was set up. This will be interesting though I really don't want to be here. In truth his friend Zack had told him that this sort of things was "Fun" and so he'd been sent here to check it out for himself. "I wonder if I can talk the enemy into surrender."

He jumped down onto the nearest pole and said, "Burn, Firi." A ball of flame coalesced into his hand then extended into a sword. He was ready, for better or worse. His long coat fluttered in a slight breeze. "Anna is gonna be pissed if I get beat up to badly."

    >Anna being a character in the story I'm writing for him. If ya'll are interested I'll post it up in Traditional Showcase..<

(I propose two posts per person for us to settle our characters in. After the two 'rounds', then the next person initiates combat. Reasonable enough, no?)

"Eheehee!" A girlish voice giggled as a figure materialized in the distance* from Ryan. "Oh, I remember this place! This place is silly! But it's not this place that it took place, but a place just like this place!" It spoke to nobody in particular. "Now-now-now, I've got a part-er-ner I gotter be waiting fer!"

Kilet placed his pumpkin-staff straight in the middle of the pillar he stood upon, then pulled himself onto it, balancing delicately on one toe while peering into the distance like a sailor in a crow's nest.

"Now, I wanna see the one that I've got to make done! But I can't leave this spot yet, nonono!" he giggled to himself, spying a figure out in the distance.

*As per this battleground's rules, for anybody that missed it.

A figure begins to plummet from the sky above Ryan. The Figure seemed to be out of control as he made his descent. Suddenly the person flip's himself, and gains control of his descent, and as he falls a ramp of concentrated light appears and he rides it down, jumping off onto a pillar close to Ryan.

"Crap, Chad still hasn't gotten that stupid Teleporter fixed." Put's his paw on his shoulder and rotates it, making a popping sound. "Now for the neck." Denki Tilt's his head from side to side, creating a popping sound in both Directions. Getting a little stiff, He shakes his entire body, in normal dog fashion yet on two feet, making his fluffy tail appear out from under his cloak. As he was shaking his body, he quickly notices Ryan.

"Oh...Hello. Your my Partner right?" Denki Put's his paw out towards Ryan in greeting. "Nice to meet you... Huh, I don't seem to know your name."

Ushered in by a rising column of bright, lustrous energy, a young figure stepped out into whatever realm it was. The figure was that of a male, standing between five and six feet in height. A single glance at him would suggest that black was his favorite color. Everything he wore was black, from his overcoat, to his turtleneck undershirt, to the pair of combat-made pants, and down straight to the high military or work boots that adorned his feet. Even his eyes and shoulder length hair were a deep, dark shade of black. Only his skin, a darker brown tan color, seemed to be spared this effect where visible.*

Without so much as a word, or even a grunt or sigh, the young man places his foot down on the stone surface, issuing in a dull thud. His other foot followed in suit, and as he exited his portal in his entirety, the energy faded from the scene, leaving his pillar unoccupied, save for his own presence. Still without sound, the youth looked across the range before him, looking for, if nothing else, some sign of life other than himself. As far as he could tell, there was nothing to see outside of the hundreds of pillars, and the misty abyss that coated the majority of his vision.

Just hope Malisa is having a more exciting time than this, he thought. It been about a week or two since he had parted ways with his previous partner. Fortunately for him, she had been kind enough to teach him how to travel between dimensions before heading off, which worked out well... except for the fact that his lack of control had left him in the most desolate, if a bit intriguing, of places. As much as he disliked it, he had to admit that he sort of missed the company of other humans. Otherwise, splitting up had been the best idea they had come to.*

"Useless," he muttered as be rubbed his hair out from his eyes. He couldn't see a this with the veil of fog hanging so thickly in the air. There was little way anyone could have used their eyes to see in such a place, unless they had just born with that sort of sight. "It's been a while," he said softly. Concentrating more mindfully on his surroundings, he gave the range a scanning feel. He hadn't felt for energy in about a month, so it was pretty difficult to grasp anything. For a second, he thought he felt a quick spike of energy, faint over distance, or otherwise an error on his part.*

Either one was possible in such a place as where he was. But after a few seconds, he dismisses the feeling as a mistake, and contemplated an immediate departure. There was no real reason to make a rest stop out of such an empty and open location. It couldn't even sustain the base resources, like water and food. And as far as he could discern, there was nothing worth exploring in any direction, save for more pillars, which weren't exactly strong attractions in the long run. In thought, he wondered what might reside at the base of pillars, if such a place even existed.

"No point staying here too much longer," he told himself, stroking his hair, wondering curiously as to where he'd try to go next. It was just*then, his ears licked up the sound of a joyous, cackling voice nearby. Looking over towards a nearby pillar top, he saw a second person, apparently arriving just after him. He knew not the name of the person, nor did he have any recollection of his face. Whoever they were though, they seemed a bit odd in their attire, and as much ungainly, in the young man's eyes, in their manner of carrying themselves. He didn't waste his time contemplating their reason for being there; they were probably there under the same pretenses as he was. So be resolved not to ask questions.

"Excuse me," he said to the stranger, pulling at a clump of his black hair. "You got anything sharp?"

((Due to having not known about Requiem's post until after I had constructed over half of this one, I've kept it at Glyde having arrived ahead of Kilet, and noticing his arrival. The "faint energy" he felt was, with reason, the of Ryan calling his Aura weapon, which I imagine would let off some traceable output. And in any case, it was only faint because Glyde only ever started to learn how to make use of his "sixth sense," a while ago, and has hence, been unable to get anything too reliable in such a place as where they are currently... I feel I should also state that Glyde's backstory doesn't involve him knowing that a fight is at hand)).

"Yo." Ryan replies with a smile. "Glad to see I'm not alone. Its Ryan Cross, B Class Aura user." He points over to the two figures on the other side of the arena. "And they would be our foes. One who seems like a dandy, and the other that seems slightly insane. Should be interesting. How do you wanna go about," he looks back at his partner with a devilish grin, "kicking their asses?"

"Oh! You've been here before! You've been in the Arena!" Kilet exclaimed in a display of rare sanity (Or something resembling it, noticing the man who addressed him. "You don't know it. I don't either! But I do! You've been here before, but not here! And you smell like you're from where I'm from, but not quite where I'm from! Here, have a knife!"

Kilet slid down his perfectly balanced staff, landing on the ground rather gracefully for one whose actions and gait seemed rather unsavory at times. From a pocket inside his overly large coat, he pulled out his favorite knife. But it didn't have a name. Knives should never have names. It's silly. But staves should. And most certainly scythes. But not knives. Gripping it by the tip of the blade, he tossed it to his partner like a knife-thrower would toss. . . well, a knife, to a person.

"Nice to meet you, The names Denki. I have Mastery over light, and am a Hero of Shigaroth City!" Denki looks over at the shadows off in the distance. "Well...." Put's his paw out as a Halberd forms out of a small ball of light, emitted from his paw. "How does slice and Dice sound to you?" Denki Snickers a little as he twirls the Halbred around his body until finally he threw it and his body into a fighting position. "Don't hold back, give it all you've got. We can win this."

Denki Quickly looks at Ryan, then at the two blurs in the distance. Wow, our power levels are close to one another. This battle is going to be tough one. Nothing I can't handle though.

The more the black-clad young man observed the oddity of a person several pillars away, the more he began to question their sanity. At his mere mention of his need for a sharp object, he had apparently sparked a lengthy recant from the stranger. With each word the kid, or man, or whatever they were spoke, the black-clad being found himself more lost than found. There was speak of some Arena, which he didn't quite get; he had never set foot in any such thing, unless the training hall back at his old Academy was the matter of discussion. Yet he doubted that, and speculated that the stranger knew something that he didn't... Or really was just off of his rocker, the latter of course being preferable.

Towards the end of the spiel, however, the stranger did divulge something that made sense. It took him a bit of thought, but the young man in black manages to piece together the message. He and the stranger were the same, somehow, yet at the same time different from each other. They were both from the same place, bit again, at the same time, from places completely different entirely. Before too long, he knew that to mean that the stranger was like Malisa; the two, or now three of them, were all from the same place, but from different eras, or variations of it. Their base essences were the same, but their specifics varied by multiversal differences.

His uncertainty about the stranger only mounted higher when they procured for him a knife. Not that a knife was anything bizarre or threatening in itself; the stranger took the liberty of tossing near-carelessly to him across the distance of some three or four pillars. In a cautiously frantic, and disbelieving rush, he clapped the handle of the knife between the palms of his hands. Throwing the stranger an indifferent nod o his head, he recollected himself. He took the knife in his right hand, pulling at his hair with his left and ran the blade against the thick clumps. It wasn't the most exciting work, bu was also a bit painful as his hair lengths came off.

After several bouts of suppressed grunts of discomfort, his head was left with a significantly lesser amount of hair. Uneven, and crude, it remained at a rough neck length at the back and a mushroom do at the front. Satisfied with his work he gave another nod to the stranger, and lobbed the knife back over to their pillar, laying by their feet. With a somewhat clearer line of sight he looked over the plane of pillars a second time; the way he saw it, it wasn't worth the stay. "I don't know about you," he said, "but I think I've seen about as much as I can bear of this place."

"You sound upset about being here," Ryan called from his pillar. He'd been pushing power into his senses to strengthen them. He could now see farther and clearer, hear better, smell more acutely, and his sense of touch was so heightened that he could feel if something was getting close to his skin and react to it. The feeling was always exhilerating for him. It was amazing how so many people walked around blind to the world, never knowing what they were missing. With his new senses he could see other auras and found that no one had a gift quite like his. How do they survive like that?

Ryan held his sword above his head. "Lets get this party started huh? Entwine then sweep all into your fiery embrace, Firi Rechio!" The air around him suddenly gained a crushing affect as more of his aura became available for use. The sword became surrouded in a column of fire which exloded apart with the force of a bomb. Ryan could feel some kind of energy source nearby which was making his power even stronger, though only by a few fractions. We must be over a hot spot or something. Regardless he was always one to use everything he had to his fullest advantage. The new sword gleamed red in the light, and Ryan flicked it out towards the crazy guy. "I got the nut case," he called to Dune. "The grumpy dude is totally yours. Divide and conquer," Ryan was grinning.

"Silly man! You should know that you can't just LEAVE the Hotel California!" Kilet giggled, making a reference to something he probably should not have known anything about. He continued his absurd ramblings after picking the knife up from the ground at his feet, beaming to his partner. "It's the Arena! You're stuck until it's over! And it ain't over till it's over!"

But then he noticed that one of the people in the distance lit his blade on fire. Funny man, that one. Lighting a weapon on fire. But that is beside the point - Kilet saw the blade coming and continued giggling, pole-vaulting himself over a few pillars and throwing two pumpkins with a little chill hardening them to intercept the attack, and right before he landed, he fired another Ghostly Chill at the fire man. Kilet touched down on the pillar opposite the side of Glyde he was on before.

"You've fought one like him before! Don't deny it! I saw the tour-neeeey-ment!"
