    Dregalt Wood
The Dregalt Wood is a savage and dangerous place where few ordinary men dare to venture. It is known to be inhabited by dark mythical creatures and witches.
It is dusk, the sun is hanging low in the sky casting a dim rose-gold glow through the trees. Their long twisted branches catch the light, creating spider like shadows that add to the eerie atmosphere. It is mostly quiet save for the sound of crickets chirping and the occasional howl from various predatory mythical creatures.

Two strangers meet in the Dregalt Woods.

Name: Delphine Hadria Caswell (Goes by Hadria)

    Age: Exact age unknown

    Race: Human/Witch

    Role: Rogue Witch

Description: Hadria is 5'6'' and has an athletic, narrow, body type. She has warm toned light skin and a clear complexion. She has no battle scars of note. Her left shoulder has a grey tattoo that half sleeves down her upper arm. Her face shape is oval and she has youthful, feminine features. Her eyes are wide and bright crimson. Her hair is shoulder length, straight, and quite thick. It is the same vibrant red color as her eyes. It is unkempt and tends to be on the stringier side during her travels. She has thick, long, black eyelashes and paints a bit of black around her eyes to give her eyes a more fearsome appearance. She has been known to wear an ambiguous expression.

    Picture:
    Weapons/Armour:

    Weapons:
    • Throwing Knives: x30.
      • She has crafted several knives of various shapes. Each have a thick ring around the handle end which is adorned with abrasive spikes for blunt force. The blades of her knives vary in three shapes- 10- dual edge, 10- single edge, and 10- pierces that are more dull and come to a single sharp point at the end.
      • Her knives are made up of various metals and some have various elemental or status runes.
      • The pointed knives have shadow runes, allowing her to phase them through solid objects or clone them while throwing.
    • Wire Garrote: x1
      • A gold ring that she wears around her finger. It is hollowed out and magically enhanced with runes for durability. Inside the hollowed ring is a coil of metal wire that can be used to strangle or decapitate enemies. She uses some magic to bring it to lethal heat as well. She has 3 wire changes on her at all times in case one breaks.
    • Crossbow: x50 poison darts(Fatal). x50 paralytic darts(paralyzes the limb that they hit). x50 Disorientation darts (potent drug disorients and clouds the mind. Effects are strengthened by increased dosages.) She can use it to launch anything she can reach that will fit.
      • A small crossbow strapped to her wrist. It is of a very old design, where the arches are able to fold in neatly flush with her wrist. It is extremely compact and magically enhanced to launch projectiles at speeds that are near impossible to dodge.
    • Double Edged Sword: x1
      • Fully matte black blade, though it is a metallic silver along the sharpened edges. It has a small window engraved just beneath the handle where a small red stone is placed. The sword is protect with runes that enhance it's durability and also allows it to fade to shadow to phase through solid objects. It is also capable of being a sort of beacon to conduct magic spells.
Armor: Hadria's attire is also shown in the above image. She wears a knee-length black leather coat that clasps in front and has a large hood to shroud her face. Under the coat she wears tight fiting leather armor that is easy to move in. It has thicker metal plating sewn into the forearms, chest, and back for added defense. It is also enchanted with runes to ward against elemental magic damage and enhance her speed/durability. She has also placed inch long spikes on the bottoms of her boots. Mostly to add traction for climbing, but they are quite lethal to kick with.

    Stats:
    • Enhanced Speed- Due to her experience, power, and *mystery circumstances* she has quite a few physical enhancements. She is very quick on her feet and has excellent reflexes.
    • Enhanced Strength- Hadria's strength does not compare to that of an Enhanced or a dwarf. But she is much stronger than the average Human or Elf.
    • Stealth- She's quiet, even when moving quickly.
    • Agility- Hadria's agility and flexibility are far above average, due to many years of training herself to be so. She is capable of moving quickly, into various different positions to dodge or block attacks. Or to attack from unexpected angles.
    • Heightened pain tolerance
    • Elemental Runes:
      • Immune to Fire
      • Immune to Shadow
      • Reduced Damage from Ice
      • Reduced Damage from Holy Magics.
    • *Mystery Stat: You know this one, Kairu. I just decided not to spell it out because we agreed not to reveal spoilers for the story this character comes from.
    • Apparent Insanity: Hadria is quite unpredictable and a bit of a loose canon. She talks to herself during battle, at times her voice comes from many different directions at once which can cause confusion.
    • Tactical Proficiency: Her experience in hunting and killing all kinds of prey gives her an expanded knowledge on how to find the upper hand in most forms of combat and kill in more ways than the average person could think of.
    • Intuition: Hadria is quite observant and is good at learning a lot about her targets patterns and strategies in a very little amount of time.
    • Enhanced Senses: She has honed all of her senses (Touch, Taste, Hearing, Sight, and Magical) to be hyper sensitive.
    • Mental Guard: Hadria is able to block outsiders from reading her mind or assessing her power level with spells.
    Abilities:

    MAGIC-
Hadria can cast lethal spells rapidly. She does not need to say words out loud to cast them. But for the sake of the Arena I will write them out.
    • Healing- A number of years being completely self reliant has taught Hadria much about a variety of different healing methods and spells.
      • Spells
        • Heill- A spell used to heal minor wounds quickly. She can do this without much concentration in rapid succession but it is limited to minor wounds.
        • Galba Heill- A spell for larger wounds. Consumes a bit of the caster's energy and takes a few moments to cast. The larger the wound, the more energy/time it takes.
        • Taek- Spell that allows the caster to draw energy from an outside source. The best sources are conscious beings such as animals or people. She not against using it against targets in a fight. The spell is interrupted if she takes damage or is distracted.
    • Offensive Magics
      • Saboteur-
        • blöthr- To paralyze a target. She can hold the spell as long as she is able, but it does drain on her energy and strength. The effects vary depending on the strength of her target and how hard they resist.
        • hljödhr- To temporarily deafen her enemies.
        • verkr- To inflict and cause the sensation of pain by forcing the muscles to contract, which also limits movement. The effects vary depending on the tolerance of her target.
        • sundavr- To bring a shroud of darkness that she can use to her advantage or the disadvantage of her foes.
      • Damage-
        • istalrí- Fire. She knows various lethal spells that incorporate flame. Including though not limited to flame throwing/breathing.
        • kveykva- Lightning. She knows various spells that utilize lighting and can summon bolts from the sky as well as from her metal weapons.
        • lunaea- Earth. She has some freaky control over various unfriendly plant life that grows in the uncivilized areas.
        • Adurna- Water. She can move water with her mind.
        • svell- Ice. Knows various spells that utilize ice and freezing.
        • sharjalví- Telekinesis. She can lift, throw, and hold things with her mind. The weight of the objects have an effect on this abilities.
        • deyja- Death. She can kill another being instantly. This spell drains just as much energy from Hadria as it does to take from another all at once, so it's effectiveness works best on simpler creatures.
    • Defensive-
      • Physical Defense
        • sköliro- An extension of her Telekinesis. She can block certain attacks with a gesture of her hand.
        • Eitha- Haste. Used to stimulate the caster's own speed/strength temporarily.
    • Other-
      • iet tauthr- To impose her will on weaker beings. This can be used in a variety of ways but she mostly uses it as a form of compulsion to summon wild animals/monsters to fight for her or to steer off unwanted questions from civilians.
    ALCHEMY-
    • She can break down the formation of objects on a molecular level and re-construct it into something else. This skill is used when potion making, weapons crafting, armor upgrading, etc...
      • In combat she uses the ability to form forms of weapons from her surroundings.
      • Rune Crafting- Hadria's knowledge of alchemy and magic come together as she draws out runes on certain surfaces in unique patterns to create new spells. (Harden, Destroy, Ignite, Rise/Expand, and Stop are most often used)
    COMBAT
    • Armed Combat- Magic aside, Hadria is backed by years worth of experience with many different weapons. She prefers the sword/knife over any other.
    • Unarmed Combat- Equally as deadly without a weapon as she is with one if given the chance.

    Items:
    • Potion: (Potions have various side effects and toxicity levels. Taking more than one over a short period of time is to be avoided.)
      • Health Potion- x5
        • The quickest way to heal wounds in battle. All she needs to do is pour it onto wounds. But she has a limited amount she can carry.
      • Crimson Elixer- x5
        • A mysterious red liquid that gives Hadria's magic and physical strength a boost when used. Effects wear off after a powerful spell.
      • Black Tonic- x4
        • Heals status ailments and poisons.
      • Pearl Essence- x1
        • Renews magic stamina.
    • Ammunition
      • Smoke Bombs:
        • Poison Gas: x5
          • Acute exposure will cause loss of consciousness and death. Effects vary.
        • Tear Gas: x5
          • Irritant to eyes. Like a cloud of pepper spray.
        • Smoke: Black x3 Red x3 Green x3
          • Enhanced smoke enchanted to linger and emit different colors to limit a target's vision and cause confusion.
      • Flash Bombs
        • Flair: x3
          • One single bright white flash that also lets off a loud crack, temporarily blinding enemies and irritating ears.
        • Strobe: x1
          • A handfull of much smaller flash bombs that go off at various times when thrown with the same brightness and volume.
    Misc:

    • Multi tool: x1
      • A silver cuff that she wears around her ear can be folded and manipulated into different shapes to pick locks or double as a small knife.

    Name: Ausar Dan Inori

    Age: Exact age unknown

    Race: Human Enhanced

    Role: Enhanced

Description: Standing at 6”5 Ausar has a well built body with strong shoulders. His hair is medium length coloured a dirty blonde undertone. He has a tightly trimmed beard which he has a tendency to let grow out while on his travels. He has green eyes the brightness of which can be enhanced due to his mutations, almost giving them the appearance of glowing. He has scars from his many battles, the majority of which are covered by his gear.

    Picture:

    Weapons:

    Weapons:
    • Enhanced hand a half sword: The sword was created specifically for Ausar when he completed his trials. The blade was forged of the rare material Amethyst. Due to the properties of the blade his sword has natural healing abilities. This process is somewhat slow and is more effective when Ausar is not in battle or exerting himself. The blade has an array of runes etched into it. As such the blade never loses its edge and will never break. Being augmented to Ausar the blade won’t work properly for another and it will never harm him in any way.
    • Enhanced Crossbow: The crossbow as with the blade is enhanced. It is extremely rare and is believed to be the last in existence. It has a few runes etched into it. The first is a rune to ensure its durability. The crossbow will never jam or misfire. A second rune when activated allows it to fire with a much greater force than a common crossbow.
    • Enhanced Dagger: A beautiful blade. It is the only one in existence and was gifted to Ausar when he became the head of his school.

Armour: As seen in picture. It is light armour that offers a full range of movement. Crafted and enchanted for the tedious work of an Enhanced. The armour is light but durable while offering good protection to the wearer. He wears a pair of reinforced gauntlets as well as greaves. His boots are custom made from leather with a thin piece of steel at his heel for protection as well as steel toes. Each piece of armour is enhanced with runes of durability and protection. Under his armour he wears a long light but durable red coat.

    Stats:
    • Enhanced Senses: As an Enhanced Ausar’s senses are improved significantly compared other living beings. There are very few creatures who can match him. Through years of training he has managed to nearly perfect each individual sense.
    • Enhanced Strength: Due to his mutations Ausar’s base strength is superior to most. Through his long life training and years of fighting different monsters and men he has grown truly strong.
    • Enhanced Speed: Again his mutations have greatly bolstered Ausar’s base speed. His reflexes are also highly trained.
    • Extended life: Enhanced unlike other beings have an unusually long life span. No one knows exactly how long but through the many years in history no successfully enhanced being has died of natural causes.
    • Magic sense/defence: Enhanced have an inert ability to sense magic. The Enhanced were developed to combat monsters of varying abilities. For this reason they were made so that they could send out their own aura in search of others. Doing so exposes their own presence to any being able to sense others. They also have the ability to use their own aura as defence against different magical attacks. Most notably magic that would affect the Enhanced directly. Effectiveness depends on the skill level of the user.
    • Wealth of Experience: Ausar has been alive and fighting for a long, long time. He has become wise and efficient in many aspects of life both on and off the battlefield.
    • Alchemy Skills: Ausar can create and use a variety of potions, bombs and oils that can be applied to his weapons.
    • Enhanced sight: Enhanced can focus their eyes allowing them to see in the dark. They can also see greater distances at a clearer range than others. When this ability is activated it gives the eyes of the Enhanced the appearance of glowing.
    • Enhanced healing: The Enhanced have a natural healing ability. They will heal from most attacks; the severity depends on how long it takes. If an Enhanced suffers too much damage they won’t be able to heal on their own.
    • Enhanced metabolism: Enhanced metabolism work faster and because of this their bodies can ingest and burn through some poisons without causing any damage to the Enhanced.
    Abilities:

    • Magical Talent: When the Enhanced were created they were made with the base for magical abilities. Some fare better than others when it comes to the level of abilities they can use. In Ausar’s case he use what witches would consider simplified magic or signs.

    • Aard: A directed blast of telekinetic energy that staggers opponents, leaving them open for a subsequent attack.
    • Igni: A fiery blast that damages. Damage scales with the intensity of the spell.
    • Yrden: A magic trap that slows or stops enemies who enter the area of effect.
    • Quen: A protective shield that can be used to protect the user or a designated target
    • Axii: Charms an opponent’s mind that can make the enemy fight for him or simply leave them in a daze. Can be used outside of battle to command weak minds.

    Items:

    Bombs:
Ausar carries a variety of bombs with him. He can carry a maximum of two of each bomb at a time.
    • Dancing Star: This bomb produces an explosion which can cause opponents to catch fire
    • Dimeritium Bomb: This releases a cloud of gas that blocks magical spells and abilities
    • Samum: Blinds opponents within its explosion radius

Potions: Each potion (White Honey excluded) carries with it a certain level of toxicity. This limits the use of each potion to a few at a time. Again he carries a maximum of two of each with him at a time.
    • Swallow: Increases Enhanced healing ability allowing them to heal greater wounds for a short period of time
    • Blizzard: Improves reflexes and reaction time
    • Petri’s Philter: Increases sign intensity
    • Tawny Owl: Boosts Stamina
    • White Raffard’s Decoction: Immediately heal a wound
    • White Honey: Resets Toxicity level and cancels all active potion effects

Oils: None in use for arena

Ausar was crouched low, hiding himself from a group of passing Black Shuck. They were busying themselves moving a group of their young to what Ausar assumed was a second nest. Normally he would dispatch these unholy creatures for good measure. Today was different however; today he was hunting bigger game. Once the Shuck were out of sight and earshot Ausar stood readjusting his gear. The sun was low in the sky and he was hoping to make it to the witch’s location before nightfall.

Ausar stepped into a small clearing, looking up he could see the first star. “If I..” Ausar was hit with an unimaginable force. He felt it lift him from the ground and throw him through the air. He tensed himself waiting for the inevitable crash. It came with a loud crunching sound as he landed on and broke what he hoped was a tree. Opening his eyes Ausar carefully tested each of his limbs, nothing of his had broken, his natural healing ability as well as the power of his sword was already numbing the pain he felt from the impact. Rising, he cleaned himself off as best he could and did a quick check of his inventory. His pouch of potions had disappeared. Ausar took his crossbow, loaded a set of bolts into it and cocked it. He began making his way back through the trail of destruction he had made, keeping an eye out for his gear.

    *

Arriving back at the clearing he silently made his way to the edge, and was pleased to find his potions bag seemingly undisturbed. He didn’t move for it straight away, first he scanned the area looking for his attacker. The small clearing was seemingly empty, except for the faint outline of a humanoid figure on the continually darkening tree line. Ausar focused his eyes and the figure came into focus. Judging by their body shape Ausar guess it was a young human female. However their features were hidden from him as the hooded figure had her back to him. “Hunter? Unusual for them to travel so deep into the area” he thought to himself as he quietly reattached his potions to his belt.

Ausar sent out his aura to trying to determine if she was magical but he felt nothing. Either she was human, or very powerful. “Ho there” he called standing up with his crossbow held casually in his hands. He almost put it away, but years of experience had taught him to be prepared for anything. “What brings you so deep into the woods?” he asked.

Hadria saw the pouch of potions as the strange man was sent barreling ungracefully through the woods from her attack. She crouched down, examining what they were. They were not labeled, but each bottle contained liquids of various colors, some which appeared familiar enough to the witch. They would be virtually useless to her, but they confirmed enough. The man was quite prepared for combat. She was half tempted to destroy them, or take them and sell them. Curiosity stopped her, though. She rarely encountered others this far into the woods. Most likely, he was a hunter or worse and Enhanced. And with the fact that a pack of Black Shuck had just passed through this clearing, valuable creatures to any hunter, it was odd that an ordinary hunter would not have gone after them.
No, this was not any ordinary encounter. This hunter was seeking a bigger target. Was it a coincidence that he had wandered so close to her? Or was he looking for witches? The idea of it was interesting, and possibly troublesome. There could be more of them, and she wasn't in the mood to deal with more surprises. It was best to just kill him and ind out if he was alone. Leaving the potions where he left them was a guarantee that he would return, so she didn't have to track him down herself. She huffed irritably as she got to her feet, put her hood up, and brushed the dust from her hand. She heard the pack of hell dogs still in the near distance as she neared the far edge of the clearing and waited for his return.
It didn't take long, his foot steps were softer and more graceful than those of a normal hunter. But still, they were loud enough that she could hear his approach. It didn't take long for him to notice her, and his power spoke to her before his words. She felt a familiar itch at the base of her skull, a tell tale sign that someone was trying to read her mind or access her power level using magic. Either way, the method he chose was not very powerful and it was easy to block out. Either he was lazy, or not very magically inclined. She wasn't sure which yet.
It was after the spell failed, did the stranger try to start up conversation.

She turned to face the stranger, being sure to make enough noise with the movement to hide the faint mechanical click that her wrist-bow made as she loaded it with a paralytic dart with a movement of one of her fingers. She did not activate the arches yet, to stop it from being visible. "The same thing as you, I can assume." she answered his question politely enough. "Or are you not a hunter? I can't imagine people visit these woods on holiday. At least not sane ones." she chuckled slightly.

A small smile played at the corner of Ausar’s lips just for moment. “I strongly doubt we are here for the same thing” he said his voice still even. He stood for a moment gauging her reaction. Slowly he brought his crossbow level and aimed it at her. “Your lines may work on naïve hunters or bandits. But at my age, I’d like to believe I’m better than that”

Ausar sent his aura out again. This time more aggressively than before. He still couldn’t get a read on her. But it had done the job. While some non magical beings had natural defences to auras, no non magical being could withstand what he had just attempted. “Tell me” Ausar said taking a more defensive stance, “Are you a part of her coven?”

Once again, there was was that nagging tug at Hadria's mind. Only this time it was much stronger and more forceful, almost surprisingly so. Hadria knew what he was doing. On one hand, she knew his method well. A normal human hunter wouldn't be able to block out such a powerful aura. So to continue to resist, as easily as she would be able to manage, would reveal her power. Then again, simply dropping her resistance to fool him would reveal just as much and far more that she wasn't willing to share. She smirked, her eyes flicked up past the arrow tip which was positioned right between them. She looked beyond it, directly into those of her attacker with a grim smile. "My... aren't you scary." she said, her tone thick with sarcasm and warning. "It's rude, you know, to ask such personal questions about strangers without first introducing yourself." she clicked her tongue with a shrug. "But I'll humor you. To which coven are you referring?"
She knew damn well which one he was talking about. But she had to be sure. It would quickly determine his fate.

Ausar took a deep breath and let it exhale slowly. Normally he would have been more than happy to play twenty questions. But he had a goal to complete today and every moment spent wasting time here was another moment that goal would slip out of his grasp. He took a look at the position of the sun his impatience growing.

“I’m in no mood for games” he said, his voice came with an edge of annoyance to it. “You are not the witch I hunt. If you are here to stop me or slow me down I can tell you I won’t go easy on you”

Ausar had no doubt that she knew what he was, he made his eyes glow for a moment to erase any doubt. “I can assure you I have been around a lot longer than you, and no matter how skilled you believe you are you are no match for a Master Enhanced. I will give you one opportunity to turn around and walk away from this”

Hadria huffed, still showing a visible lack of intimidation from Ausar's threats. "Tell me, Master Enhanced." she mocked his title with a hint of a bow "Were you raised in a barn? Or are bad manners simply a custom adopted by your dying breed?" she took a step backward, giving herself an inch or so more room for the impending conflict she could tell was coming. "Either way, I suppose it's up to me to educate you. Firstly, when meeting a stranger, you should first introduce yourself before shoving your crossbow in their face and making demands." she chuckled as the area began to darken even more than it already was "Secondly, you shouldn't assume the threat a person poses you when you don't even yet know their name. I know the witch you seek. And I'm sorry to tell you, I cannot allow you to reach her. So this is going to have to be the end of your journey, old one." She suddenly raised her arm, finally revealing her wrist-bow as she used it to shoot three poison darts and jumped up high into the air landing on the branch of the tree next to her. She jumped from tree to tree above Ausar's head shooting more darts at him rapidly from various directions.

Ausar was taken aback as the first three darts were fired at him. Fortunately he his reflexes were better than most and he made a sign with his hand. A barrier formed around him and the darts dropped harmlessly to the ground. The woman’s dexterity was impressive. “Magically enhanced” he thought to himself. She jumped from tree to tree and Ausar turned to face her each time she moved keeping his barrier up to fend off the darts that kept coming his way. Raising his own crossbow he fired a few rapid bolts of his own. She was a lot faster than he had originally anticipated and she dodged them with seemingly relative ease.

“Enough” Ausar said. He was in a rush and couldn’t waste time here. He touched the rune on the side of his crossbow and watched as the loaded bolt and drawstring glowed gathering power. Once it had reached its peak Ausar took aim at the tree the witch was on and fired jerking back slightly at the force of the released bolt.

Just as the bolt was released from the bow, Hadria put forward an outstretched palm and closed each of her fingers one by one in rapid succession. Once her last finger closed into a fist, the bolt froze in the air directly in front of her as if frozen in time. "Pretty fireworks. But it will take more than that if you really wish to hurt me." Hadria then threw her hand to the side, and the bolt followed as if redirected completely past her by the motion. At the same time, Hadria jumped back to the ground to avoid any stray from the attack. The shadow of a nearby tree rested directly beneath Hadria's feet. She sank into the shadow as if it was a liquid and reappeared out of another shadow behind her enemy with a dagger already ready. The blade was shrouded in a black fog like shadow. She stabbed the blade directly for his head.

Ausar was neither surprised nor deterred when his bolt failed to hit the mark. It didn’t surprise him when his opponent jumped from the tree and fused with the shadow. He had been fighting a long, long time. Not many things took him by surprise, at least when he was paying attention. He both sensed and heard the attack coming towards him. Years of training followed by many more of practiced had shaped Ausar into a formidable fighter. He turned on the spot moving his head enough that the attack missed him. With one hand he moved his fingers in an intricate and when he finished an instant later he opened his hand palm open towards his opponent. A burst of flame burst forth in a single blast. The attack didn’t last long but it gave Ausar enough time to unequip his crossbow and pull a dimeritium bomb from his belt.

After pulling the pin he let the bomb roll a few feet away from him. It exploded in a brilliance of sliver. The gas hung in the air and would for quite some time. The effect in the area was immediate. If you were magically inclined you could feel the magic drain from the area. “Let’s see how good she is without the use of her magic” he thought to himself. He had drawn his sword; it hummed to him and he grinned as if greeting an old friend. “I can’t waste more time here” he said taking a few steps back and readying himself. “Let’s end this” Ausar rushed forward his sword in both hands bringing it down at a diagonal cut aimed at Hadria.

The smoke lingering in the air clouded Hadria's magic instantly. He couldn't see it, but the witch simply smiled and cracked her neck, pulling out a knife "Too cocky..." she muttered. It was clear, this hunter was counting on her not being able to fight him without the use of magic. That was a serious mistake that would make things interesting if not lead to his instant defeat. As the man charged at Hadria with his sword, waited until the last moment and then arched her back and side stepped, dancing out of the way of the blade so closely that she heard it whistle past her ear. Hadria's movements were like river water dodging around a stone. She pulled out a dagger and stabbed it at the back of the man's knee while simultaneously kicking her leg to the front of the same leg. The stab landed and Hadria used the leverage to try to knock him off of his balance.

To say Ausar was taken aback would be an understatement. He had thought the fight over when suddenly the witch sidestepped and danced her way out of the path of his blade. Ausar felt the sting of her blade as it bit into the back of his knee. As the witch’s kick came back Ausar could feel himself beginning to fall. Years of training and experience had him reacting to the situation before he even realised it. As he was falling he closed his leg around his attackers arm, driving her blade deeper into his knee. Dropping his sword and grabbing her leg with his now free hand he used the momentum of his fall rolling forward; letting out a shout of pain as the dagger ripped through his muscle he threw the witch away from him. She lost her grip on her blade which remained buried in Ausar’s leg, but he had managed to separate her from him.

From a sitting position Ausar quickly cast the sign for Quen forming a protective shield around himself. He stood on his uninjured leg and grabbing the hilt of the dagger with slight effort he pulled it out and let it drop. Blood flowed freely from the wound. Ausar reached into his belt and produced a vial. Popping the lid he downed the contents and slowly put his injured leg on the ground testing it. It was tender and still bleeding but his Swallow potion was already taking effect healing his wound. Picking up his sword Ausar also grabbed the dagger. A smile crossed his face as he examined his blood that now stained the weapon. He let out a short laugh and shook the dagger in the witch’s direction. “Oh, you are good” He said allowing the blade to drop again. Had Ausar moved to attack, it would have disrupted his sign and broken his shield. He wanted a bit more time for his leg to heal before resuming the fight. “I underestimated you; you aren’t just a magic user are you?” Ausar reached into his belt a second time taking a blue vial. Again he popped the lid and drank its contents. Ausar grimaced as the potion started spreading through his body. Some of the blood in his veins started turning black as his toxicity level rose. “But I know it takes a very long time to master both magic and combat as you have” Ausar said discarding the vial. “Who are you?”

Ausar transferred his blade from one hand to another twisting it and testing out the effects of his Blizzard potion. Already he could feel the effect. The witch wouldn’t catch him of guard like that again. The bleeding had slowed to a trickle. “Just awhile longer” he thought to himself.

Hadria had expected the man to lash out from the stab. But she misread him, a careless mistake. She had tried to keep low, expecting him to try to grab at her with his hands or stab with his sword. She hadn't considered he would be foolish enough to risk his leg to trap her. As a result, she fell prey to his strength too easily. She barely managed to twist herself in the air in a way that would allow her to land on her feet. But she was seconds too slow. She did manage to hit the ground feet first but the momentum was still there. They slid backwards and Hadria had to use her hands to stop herself from falling face first to the ground but not even that was enough to slow her. What finally did was the trunk of the very same tree she had first climbed when conflict arose. Her head smacked against it and Hadria's body ungracefully slumped over the roots for only a moment.
Get up. You have work to do.
For a moment, she lie still. Her first movement was her arms as she braced her hands on the ground and pushed herself onto her knees, then her feet. The Enhanced had already placed a protection spell, luckily for him. Hadria would have already struck back if it wasn't for the shield. But it could only last for so long. She stalked back into his view, watching him intently for the next moment to strike. A smirk crossed her lips when she noticed him examining his blood on her dagger. "So, he bleeds." she taunted with a giggle, adjusting her jaw with her hand.

He's chatty. Good. she made note of his potion use, knowing he would stall for time until it took affect. That was fine. It told Hadria a few things. Most importantly, he took Hadria more seriously than he had originally thought. That would change things. He would begin to fight either harder or smarter. She would have to be wary of that. Her arm left twitched somewhat while she listened to Ausar speculate. "tsk tsk... The time for introductions was offered and passed master enhanced." she once again placed emphasis on mocking his title while bringing a finger up to her lips as if to tell him to shush. "Tell you what. Once I've sent you to hell, you can ask the devil who killed you." she readied her sword in her free hand, keeping the other concealed in the sleeve of her coat. "That is if you're brave enough to put down that silly shield and face a lone witch in the woods."
Her taunts were met with the same challenging smirk and her eyes were locked on his.

Ausar let out a sideways smile at the witch’s response. “I’ve devoted a long and lengthily life to getting rid of the evil from this world, and I dare say I’ve done a damn fine job of it” Ausar’s smile widened as he and the witch continued to stare at each other. “I won’t be going to hell”

Ausar’s left hand began moving and seemed to be almost twitching. “Besides. If I met the devil, I’d kill him too!” Ausar burst forward his shield shattering and disappearing. He threw his left hand forward casting Aard aiming it at the ground. This resulted in a burst of earth and stone firing towards the witch. Following quickly behind Ausar spun putting his strength into swinging his blade in a downwards diagonal arc aimed for his foolish opponent.

With an outstretched palm, Hadria managed to cast sköliro on the debris that had been kicked up. With only fractions of a second between actions, she paced backward, finally raising her sword to block her attacker's. Having fought enhanced before, she had braced herself for a powerful blow. But she had underestimated his strength even still and felt her arm protest under the pressure of the initial contact. To help absorb some of the shock, she allowed her knees to buckle and brought up her free forearm to brace the flat side of her sword from snapping back at her. She made sure to push back just enough to keep a good deadlock. In the same movement, her free hand was pulled free of her coat sleeve to reveal a hand full of strobe bombs. She smiled up at Ausar from between their crossed blades.

From her position on one knee, she flicked a wrist to toss the strobe bombs at Ausar's feet and cast sundavr at the same time. Meanwhile, she used all her strength to swing her sword to the side, hoping to push Ausar's with it and throw him off balance as she then tucked in and rolled the opposite way once. She was on her feet in a second and jumped into the air, swinging her sword across horizontally at Ausar's neck from where she hoped he would be left blinded.

“Impressive” Ausar thought as the witch managed to block his attack. She was stronger that she looked, and certainly more skilled. He allowed his sword to be thrown sideways and cast the sign for Quen. He could hear the first bomb explode and his vision which had been cast in darkness blew up with a brilliance of light. Ausar allowed the spell to break with and outwards explosion of its own. The force of it scattered the remaining bombs that were going off at different intervals so they no longer blinded him with light. Adjusting his eyes Ausar could see again in time to bring his blade up to intercept the witch’s attack. Their blades clashed with a flash of sparks. Ausar turned to his side hoping to create an opening at the witch’s back by allowing her momentum to carry her past him.

“I’m done with this” Ausar said bringing his blade down to strike the woman’s back.

Hadria had very little time to react as the stranger suddenly stepped to the side to allow Hadria's momentum to carry her past him. Unsure of is intentions for sure, she knew she was compromised by the position he had behind her. She would be unable to block him effectively. Knowing this, Hadria cast Verkr instinctively in attempt to paralyze him even if only for a second, long enough to dodge whatever he intended to do. She landed on her feet as she cast the spell and allowed herself to roll forward to try to create some distance. At the same time, beginning to cast istalrí as she took in a deep breath.

Ausar was aware of the muscles contracting in his arm as the witches spell took effect. Using his aura he lessened the power of the spell but it had already achieved its desired result. The witch was safe from his attack.

Letting out a small sigh Ausar quickly made the sign for Igni. Taking a step towards the witch he threw his left hand out and shot a jet of flame towards her.

The man was fast but Hadria recognized the sign he was making and jumped into her rebuttal. Putting a hand on the ground as she rolled back to her feet she cast skö Adurna, focusing on the water in the ground and within the plants that she could reach with her spell. Rapidly, the plant life directly where Hadria stood began to die. As she lifted her hand in front of her face and jumped backward, a trail of water followed jetting from the ground in front of Hadria. As it caught contact with Ausar's fire and extinguished it, a thick cloud of steam instantly expanded in it's place. Hadria wasted no time in using the visual impairment, or moisture in the air, the steam would cause. Pulling out three throwing knives with elemental runes she darted to her right, throwing the knives in a near perfect vertical row while casting kveykva after them. The three knives would be charged, and a bolt of electricity would follow. Hadria intended the static to affect the steam surrounding Ausar too but she wasn't sure if it would work. Either way, she could feel all the magic use begin to wear at her. She could manage but would have to be careful.

The witch was an experienced fighter. Ausar heard the blades coming and stepped into position to intercept them. Bringing his blade down he knocked the three knives causing them to land harmlessly at his feet.

“Gah!” Ausar called as the witch’s second spell made contact with him. His body seized as the electricity flowed through him. “I hate magic” he said aloud as the spell wore off. His clothes were sizzling and he could smell the burnt of his own flesh. Ausar once again casted Quen leaving a protective shield around him. Reaching to his belt he drank White Raffard’s Decoction. His pain left him immediately and the cooking smell passed.

The veins in Ausar’s body were becoming a darker black as his toxicity levels were moving to a dangerous level. If he wasn’t careful his own blood would poisonous. It would heal with time or he could use a White Honey. But Ausar was growing more irritated at the resources the witch was costing him. Knowing he had another fight to find he didn’t want to use more of his potions.

Ausar released Quen pushing it outwards with force causing a small explosion of force outwards clearing the lingering mist.

There’ Ausar smirked to himself as brought his blade down in a powerful arc looking to end the fight.
