It's ok. That is an odd ball. I bet it means Number, as in Number of Dice to Roll. It looks as if you can input so you can roll the dice more than once and get the added roll. I wouldn't do it since we are trying to act as if we are doing it around a table.

No, you need the dice for everything. You roll a d6 for making your sheet, a d20 for search, spot, listen, and other checks along with if you are going to hit and such.

To set your stats up you roll a d6 4 times and take the top three numbers and combine them. Repeat six times until you have numbers for every stat. Then you apply them depending on were they are needed.

ex: high dex for rangers, high int and wis for wizard and sorcerers, and high str for barbarian and fighter classes.

Well I was the one with 48 str and hit 60-115... the things had around 1000 hp... I almost died 5 times

yeah... bad thing was we fought two Ice demons, large blue lizards that blocked both sides of the pass... I was the group's main hitter so I was fighting both while they all tried to run...

lol yeah my old youth minister had it all for it. Sets, charachers, boards, he even had a canyon set where it was a 3d model of a massive mountain pass we had to fight on.
