I'm not sure what the setting is, but it looks kind of space aged. Capcom has resorted to Star Wars like Square has.

I haven't played 1 and 2 for ages, 4 even longer. Though I remember 4 quite well since I've played it multiple times.
You can get 1 and 2 on a GBA emulator if you've ever considered picking them up and playing again.

I've found a copy of 3 and am currently loving it. You get pilfer at the start =D
