I figured, since I was taken there anyway, I might as well take a look at the arena rules 2.0. Wow. You did great with the new guidelines. It is all very intuitive and fair. The tiering system and sample battlefields are great, you can count on me submitting a couple battlefield designs. All in all, very nice work, I hope this contributes to a larger use of the Arena section. In fact, I will be contacting you soon about a personal contribution I would like to make.

Well, I was writing up my post, but some half way through I was somehow immediately taken to a different page (your new arena rules thread for some reason) making me lose my post. I'll try to have something up by tomorrow. My apologies.

Finally edited my post in the Arena, sorry about the wait. I tried to devise a good strategy but ended up going with something I'm slightly less than happy with. Oh well, the thread must go on.

Yeah, even while playing that one it was a little badly worded. Still one of my more creative fields, though. I could have sworn I edited that thread a few months back to include a couple of the more recent arenas, tho'. Oh well, memory is faulty. And like you said, easily recreated.

There should still be the Arena stock battlefield thread floating around the Old Roleplays or OOC area somewhere, you know.

Yes, as I understood, Glyde was side-by-side with this boulder, then jumped backwards, putting the boulder half-way in between Harumi and Glyde, and a little to the left (from Harumi's point of view). Had her jump continued unimpeded, she would have passed by the right side of the boulder (again from Harumi's POV), heading toward Glide, which would have detonated the spell circle.

Is this correct?

Yep, that's the thing, she didn't land in between Glyde and the spell circle. Originally, had her jump not been interrupted, yes, she would have landed in between Glyde and next to the boulder with the circle. However, the magical bullet that did hit her interrupted the jump and caused her to be knocked back, the opposite direction of both the spell circle and Glyde. Thus, when she landed, Harumi was a short distance away from Glyde and the circle, having moved through the air in the opposite direction of them.

Anyway, what happened was Harumi blocked one of Glyde's magical bullets, but the other two hit (one dead on and one glancing), which knocked Harumi backwards (away from Glyde and the circle), and also making her fall to the ground. At that point, Harumi had landed by another boulder, and that was the boulder that she hid behind, a medium-short distance away from Glyde and (what I understand to be) the placement of the spell circle.

Ah, okay, this might be a bit difficult to explain, as it looks like we may have envisioned what was happening differently. When my post starts, Harumi is in the air coming toward Glyde. Glyde is a short distance in front of her, and (how I imagined it), somewhere in between them was a boulder off to the left with the spell circle on it. The circle is positioned in such a way that if Harumi were to take a direct path to Glyde, it would blow a hole in her left side. I think this is where we might be confused. If my explanation even makes sense, was that how you imagined it? (Too much text for one post)

That you can do to an extent. I feel doing that kills out one of the forums. I'm also up for a rule thread under each forum. So specific rule thread for profile(already exists, may need updated), one for Arena, one for original and canon (basic rules plus specific info), one strictly for OOC/SU, and one for the suggestion/help/feedback forum. That is fine. People's incite I'd prefer to see people create threads and people discuss within each thread (much like the whole site suggestion section)

I don't know I have mix feelings. I mean the guide is used all the time and people reference the rules there and stuff. I can understand editing and fixing up rules but some of the guide I've been careful to keep up to date and just before I went to college I had updated the guide. Send me a draft in word via my email and I'll take a look at it then.

What ideas? The one's you mentioned in the chatter thread? I didn't get a chance to completely read through the thread just sort of skid through it
