Euia looked at Will, then at Ao. She hesitated, knowing that she would have to lie to protected Ao's secret. "He thought he saw a boat in the distance, but he was probably imagining it," She said quickly. "I didn't see any boat myself."

She stood up and wrapped her flimsy nightdress closer. The sun was starting to rise, glistening off the water and shining rays from beneath the dock.

 

Jordan was now standing in front of Oiea's house and called her saying, "Hey Oiea!"

 

Oiea was cleaning the front room when she heard someone calling her. With a sigh, she tossed the feather duster aside and went to the window. Jordan was standing below.

"Jordan, what is it?" She shouted.

 

Jordan almost tumbled over his words but finally got the courage to say, "When you get dress and everything, I wanted see if you wanted to go pick some paupu fruit with me."

 

"Um, I don't know, Jordan." Oiea picked the duster back up again. "I'm supposed to teach today. Sorry... what about tomorrow?" She poked her head out the window.

 

"Ok tommorow. See ya Oiea!" Jordan started to walk off.

Oiea waved good-bye, and turned back into the house to confront the mess that had accumulated overnight. With a frustrated sigh, she went to the window and called very loudly, "EUUUUUUUUUUIA!!!!"

Ten minutes later, the two were kicking up dust all throughout the house, sweeping and dusting and organizing and folding blankets.

 

Will had gotten mad so he climbed the paupu fruit tree and jumped into the water, landing the 20 foot dive perfectly.

 

Will came up and said. "Ao, what are you doing in the ocean?"

 

Will smiled. "Then let me come, just once." He said.

 

Will sensed something. "Your not telling me everything, something's wrong. Just remember, friends to the end." He said. climbing up the tree. He knew he meant it.
