The Key Bearer's Sleep

Will hobbled into the harvest room with Ao, finding a seat near Euia and her sister Oeia, asking. "Where is everyone?"

 

"We don't know," Oiea told him. "We showed up about fifteen minutes ago, and nobody was here-- not even Jordan."

 

Jordan walked in and said, "Well I'm here......now."

 

"Dang, I came because I've never missed a harvest and don't want to start now." Will said.

 

"I only come to see the great food."

 

Will smiled. "More like eat it all." He joked, resting his leg on an adjecent chair. He grunted in pain as he set his leg on the chair.

 

"Ya'll think......the heart takers got em?"

"Will... are you all right?" Euia listened to him grunt, worried. "Maybe you should patch that up..."

She poured herself a glass of apple cider.

"Ah-ah-ah, not too much, Euiy." Oiea scolded. "You'll get the runs."

Euia blushed, embarrassed, and sank down into her chair.

 

((just so you all know, Oiea is like Euia's twin sister... so they're pretty much the same looking. hope that settles some of this...))

"I'm fine, and it's a party. Let her drink as much as she wants." Will said. He was always challenging Oiea.

 

Will nodded at him. "It's ok, it's no big deal."

 

"Ao?" Euia listened, but his footsteps had already disappeared. "Well that was strange. I wonder what is going on today... first the Heartless, then the Harvest being empty, now this..."

"HEARTLESS?!?!!" Oiea leaped from her chair like a cat who's tail had just been stepped on. "EUIA ESTALIA VANDEX YOU NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT ANY HEARTLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"O-Oiea, I--"

"WHAT WERE YOU DOING WITH HEARTLESS?!?!?!?!"

 

Will stood u but fell back into his chair instantly. "There not her fault, they attacked us. I tried to play hero but somehow I'm still here. battered and bruised but here." Will said to Oiea.

Oiea made an unsatisfied "hmph" noise, and sat back in her chair with her arms crossed and an unpleasant expression scrawled across her face.

"Um... may I be excused?" Euia asked Oiea, not wanting to snap her nerves again.

Oiea hmphed again. Her sister took this as a "yes," and escaped from the Harvest table. She wiped her brow and exhaled loudly as she walked among the jungle floor, heading for the shoreline. She stopped when she heard Ao talking with a strange girl did not know.
