    Arena:
The location for this battle is the Endless Catacombs. It's a dimly lit perpetually extending set of archways and pillars surrounded by sections of interred tombs, in a pleasant gridlike pattern.

    Character:
    Name: Hortense
    Age: 26
    Gender: F
    Personality: Aggressive
    Powers/Abilities:
Hortense is a two-form spellcaster a division happening when she is severely wounded.
Normal: Angle-focused spellcasting abilities, can get up to 3 bends per casting - narrow spell but searing intensity. Can turn two angle beam castings into a shield, good for a single attack, every other turn - but it's not good at rapid attacks. Additionally, can ride a sent beam like a rail.

Her alternate is a trance state where her body projects light and loses the capability to angle her attacks, but her beams blast in straight shots and pass through inorganic matter. They retain their burning capabilities however.

Weapons: Dual batons. Cast a beam from each one once per turn.
Ultimate Ability: Vector Cannon (Takes a turn to charge up and one to cool down) - Cast magic in two sets of spirographic rings, both in front and behind. Powerful blast with one turn.

    Name: Ashara Frostheart

    Age: 27

    Gender: Female

Personality: Naturally cold and aloof towards most individuals, she has an unnatural fixation on the art of war, and utilizes her brains and her brawn equally in combat. When she was young, she tended to overthink things too much, and it ended in many a defeat for her. But much like her people, who she now leads, she is strong and charismatic, and refuses to give up until she draws her last breath.

    Powers/Abilities:
Natural Element: Ashara is able to create, manipulate, and control all forms of the elements of water and ice. This includes icicles, snowstorms, rainstorms, etc. If it is made of water, or ice, she can control it.
Enhanced Attributes: As an Amazon, Ashara is more powerful then the average human. She can take far more damage, and dish out far more just as well. She also has increased stamina, and vitality as well.
Outplayed and Outfought: Ashara is a tactician, as much as she is a fighter. She uses an equal amount of brain and brawn in her fights, and as such is difficult to defeat.

Weapons: Ashara wields a magical one handed broadsword that cannot be broken. It is infused with the power of ice.

Optional Bio: The current queen of the Amazons, Ashara fought for and earned this position rather then attaining it through birthright. Born to the warrior tribe, she grew up going through intense physical and mental training to become a fighter for her people. However, as she grew, and the rigors of the training grew more and more intense, she found that she was as interested in the tactical side of battle, as she was the glory of the fight. Following this realization, Ashara began to sneak out and study among the other Amazons. She found herself engrossed in the art of battle, and not just the fight itself. The ways a person could manipulate a fight to their advantage, even if they began grossly outmatched.

Thus, Ashara trained and studied, both her mind and her body, until she was confident enough to lead in battle. It was at this time, that the Queen of the Amazons, Diana, would fall ill. With no children of her own, and thus no heiress to the throne, Ashara took it upon herself to step forward and proclaim herself the first person to be willing to fight for the right to lead their people. More would soon follow suit, and Diana would approve of the battle royale to determine the next queen. Using both her prowess in combat, and the tactical prowess she had been studying for years, Ashara easily outmatched her fellow combatants. Upon her victory, Diana granted Ashara the Blood of Olympus, which upon drinking, gave her proof as successor by granting her magical powers. She was also gifted Diana's own sword as she was dying; A magical, unbreakable blade infused with the Blood of Olympus.

Now Ashara fights for her people, for glory, for honor, and though her heart is cold, her spirit burns with the passion of her ancestors and her people... Ready to aid her in battle.

    Ultimate Ability:
Roar of the Amazons: Ashara calls upon her ancestors to grant her strength, blessing her with super enhanced power, speed, and durability for a short time.(2 posts)

This place is beautiful... Twisted, certainly, but beautiful nonetheless. Ashara looked around her in stunned awe as she admired her current location, what seemed to be a catacomb, or labyrinth, perhaps even a combination of both. Her sword lit her way, glowing a faint blue with it's icy powers. Regardless, she'd ended up here for a reason, and though she couldn't fathom it, many a strategy already began falling into place in her head. Certainly, this place was not the best for tactical combat, but even still, with enough thought, something could be done.

She continued forward, uttering not a sound, as she came upon another turn in the corridor. This was starting to become frustrating. It seemed to be an endless loop, perhaps a circle, or maybe a square. She couldn't tell quite yet, but the paths seemed to intersect in a sort of gridlike fashion, which could prove useful in baiting and trapping enemies.

Preparing her weapon, Ashara turned the corner...

    And nearly ran into Hortense.

Hortense raised a surprised eyebrow. "Oh, you must be who I'm fighting," she said, folding one arm in front and one behind to bow. After the bow, she extended the frontwards arm while the rear gripped the two batons tucked into her waistband behind her. "Shake for a fair fight?" She asked, holding her hand out expectantly.

Ashara raised a single eyebrow at the other girl, the first comment causing her to grip her weapon tighter. As the stranger bowed and extended her hand for a handshake, the Amazon queen couldn't help but chuckle. "There is no such thing as a fair fight. No matter how close to the rules you play, no fight is ever truly and completely fair." And yet she admired the bravery of what was apparently to be her opponent here, to leave an opening like that was fatal. But bravery only got you so far in combat...

She stepped back from her would be opponent and readied her weapon, "Prepare yourself."

"Aw, no shakesies?" Hortense pouted. She tilted her palm up, then flipped it around so it was facing Ashara, and then wiggled her fingers.

Then, without warning, two beams appeared behind her. One towards the ceiling, and one towards the floor. Just before reaching both, they turned, beelining to Ashara. Before reaching her, the top one went downwards, then pulled back along the floor back towards Hortense. She hopped on it as it came her way, sending her back. The bottom one, however, went between Ashara's legs before rising behind her - and then, when hitting her midriff level, also turning towards Hortense.

The attack came so suddenly it nearly caught Ashara by surprise, had she not already been anticipating an ambush during the handshake. Acting quickly, she stabbed her blade into the ground, causing two large, wide, thick pillars of ice to rise in front of, and behind her, blocking both beams advance. "That was quite the attack. I'm impressed."

After making sure the attack had stopped, Ashara, pulled up her blade, and made swift cuts into the pillars. The blade sliced through the pillars with ease, and Ashara's movements were fluid, and consistent. Finally, after reaching the bottom of both pillars, she lifted the sword into the air and let out a loud battle cry as the ice exploded into multiple sharp chunks of ice that she launched at her opponent.

Hortense, whipped out both of her batons fully to make up for the stopped trails, but wasn't expecting her opponent's attack this time. Several shards of ice embedded themselves in her shoulder as she attempted to dodge. Instead of trying to pull the shards out, she launched two more streams at her opponent, this time both of them traveling at chest height. They moved diagonally across the hallways, crossing in an X midway between the two women. They reached the walls to the side of Ashara, then banked behind her. Then, without warning, they turned again inwards to Ashara to try and pierce her from behind.
