Fun tip for you beginners out there. Riku does his infamous surprise attack every fourth hit.

Ya know, the attack where he jumps up and plants his oversized shoes about 2ft in your skull? Yeah that one.

Fun little detail. If you go into the shop and stand on the scale here it’ll move showing Sora’s weight. (sadly you can’t make out numbers but at least the scale moves!)






One thing I love about KH1 is how there are SO MANY small details in most worlds. For instance, all the paintings in the hotel.

If you view them all a text bubble appears from the manager box. It only works once though.

Also each painting is named after a thing, such as the one “Bald Mountain”. I think they’re all named after parts from Disney’s Fantasia, at least most of them.




KH1 has several alternate scenes. One of them is viewed by beating Leon when you first arrive in Traverse Town. (yes that’s possible)

Other scenes happen if you-

*beat Cloud in your first trip to Hercules’ world
*One scene will play if you go to Wonderland after Hercules and Tarzan
*Another plays if you go to Monstro after the first Hollow Bastion trip.

 

I'm nearing the end of my run and I got too many tumblr posts to paste here but I'll leave this one for today and likely make a last one when I finish. Don't be afraid to add your own~



Fun Fact
KH 1 has a soft reset feature. If your too young to remember what that is, it’s when you press a certain number of buttons and your taken back to the title screen without dying or turning the system power off.

On the PS2/PS3 this is done by pressing L1+L2+R1+2+Start+Select all at once. I’m pleased to see this is carried over to the PS4. The only difference is you input L1+L2+R1+R2+Options+TouchPad.

If memory serves, Chain of Memories also had these feature but I won’t be able to check till I get there.

 

Alright guys, this is it. I’m finally at the end game. I’ve showed you all the details, easter eggs, and tips that I know. I’ve even found some I knew nothing of even 15yrs later.

I’m sure there’s even more I don’t know, namely stuff added in the final mix (1.5). Tips for synthesis and new bosses such as Xemnas, etc.

So I implore you to explore yourself, enjoy all the love for detail KH1 had put into it. As for me, I’m gonna work on getting the Ultima weapon before I finish this game.

Sadly the later games have nowhere near this level of detail or interaction so I’m afraid I won’t have such posts for the later games, I apologize. There’s just nothing neat to show you in them.
