Divine Inheritance (OOC + SU)

Ok guys so I haven't had any time on an actual computer today so I'm going to do what I can from my phone for the ooc so we can get some profiles up.

Backstory:
The Roman emporer is the demigod son of Neptune had a daughter with his wife (fully human). The child, Lillith, was considered the heir to the throne after showing signs of having a fraction of the god Neptune's power at a very young age.
On this same day, another promising child was born. The demigod son of Juno, Atticus, was leading the royal army. His daughter Jade was also prophecied for greatness from a young age.
Unbeknownst to most, Atticus was plotting to take over the throne and overthrow the emporer. Using his position in the military, he made deals with a barbaric civilization to start a war with his own country.
The barbarians began trying to invade Rome and most of the best soldiers were sent out constantly trying to keep the boarders safe. The war went on for 10 years before the emporer himself joined the army for a battle at the city wall.
Atticus used this to his advantage. He sent some of his followers to the castle during the battle to kill the emporers wife and children. He planned to betray the emporer himself during the fight and take over by winning the battle. His plan succeeded.
The battle was won, the emporer was dead, and the army was convinced that the barbarians killed him. Atticus was hailed a war hero.
Meanwhile the royal family was also mostly taken care of. All of them were killed except the 10 year old daughter Lillith, who was taken prisoner in secret. She was declared missing. As the army became aware if the situation Atticus, was accepted as temporary ruler until the true heir could be found.

Now:
The invaders are outraged by having been tricked and lied to. The war still rages.
Lillith, the true heir to the throne is still a prisoner to the current emporer. No one knows she's alive.
Rome has fallen to ruin. Atticus is not fulfilling his responsibilities as a ruler and is instead using his position of power to fulfill his own goals to become a full god. No one but a few close followers know the truth of his plans not even his daughter, Jade.



That's the basics. Obviously stuff is going to get more interesting and I encourage creativity in your bios to further the plot even more. I know the plot is pretty messy right now. I'll fix it when I can get on a computer. For now, here's the template

I will come up with a name at a later date. I've had less time to work on this plot than I'd like but no it's not actual Rome unless you guys want it to be lol and Just for the giggles let's go ahead and add other gods as well.

 

Yes to all for the most part but politics lean closer to Egypt considering that we are looking at two female potential rulers.

EDIT: I've been putting a lot of work into this RP and there are some big changes coming to the setting(that I think are for the better). I am finally writing up the official backstory, plot, and setting. I think a lot of what you guys have been working on with your character profiles will still fit. In fact for many of you who have talked to me about your planned characters it will fit better. Many of these changes free up new possibilities for your characters as far as the story goes.
Hopefully I have the official information up soon. I'm working up a few plot things with Sho right now. I just wanted to update you guys so you know yes this is still happening. This RP hasnt been forgotten and I apologize for the delays

Aezureth Empire​

Disclaimer: I don't know where this map came from and I did not create it. I am just using it for inspiration. Also I got the name from a generator because I'm lazy af.

Aezureth is an huge country that is made up of many different civilizations and cultures that all answer to the same central government (It's basically a frankenstein of a bunch of different ancient places with their own leaderships)
The land is extremely dangerous and unforgiving. It is full of monsters, disease, and devastating storms. The people have to fight every day just to survive. Many have adopted a "kill or be killed" mentality which varies depending on what part of the country they are from. Mostly, the people have a respect for power and ability to survive. Many of their beliefs link with those two things. It's population makes up of two different species of human:
Full Human- Mostly the kind of human you are familiar with. Very little magic ability (though I will allow a some to level the playing field for those that choose to be human). Their numbers are decreasing.
Demigod- Fairly rare but still well known and frequent in the community. Demigod are mostly human but they descend from one of more god (can be any god you can think of from any culture). Depending on which God they descend from and how far down the bloodline they are, these people can be basically like any other human or much different. Many, though not all, of them have physical traits that set them apart (taller, smaller, unusual eye/hair/skin color, etc...) and some of them have special abilities or powers and tend to live longer than average humans as well. One definite difference is the difference in blood color. While most humans have red blood, the god-humans have silver blood (kind of the texture of mercury). The more generations pass, the more average the bloodline becomes until it's gone completely.

Leadership: Aezureth is made up of 12 different clans that vary in size and each of those clans have their own leaders, politics, and people (don't feel like you have to stick to one race). But each those leaders answer to the Emperor of the capitol city, Sax. The central government is made up of one emperor/empress and one council member from each of the clans.
During the lifetime of each emperor, a group of future rulers are gathered from the younger generation. Any person can claim the throne as long as they are powerful and can claim to descend from a god (silver blood is usually good proof). Those selected are trained from the time of their selection to one day rule. When the emperor/empress dies, a contest begins. It's basically a huge battle to the death. The last one standing is chosen to be the newest ruler. Their rule can be challenged at any time but it just resets the whole death battle thing so it's rare. The current Emperor is Emperor Newgate of Barisor. He is a descendant of Neptune, He recently assumed the throne by killing all of his competitors. At 5 years since becoming the Emperor, he had 3 children. Among them was his youngest daughter, Lilith, who is loved by many of the people in Aezureth. She was the first child to be chosen for ascension and also one of the youngest to ever be selected in history (chosen at age 6).
A few months later, the second child was chosen. Jade, the daughter of councelor Atticus of Sax. Descendant of the god Jupiter. She was also chosen young at age 7, both girls grew famous and gained respect across the country. Of course, other children have been selected since then and each have their own unique talents. We start this RP a few years later. There are currently 8 young people chosen for ascension and they know each other well (2 of the 8 are existing characters in this RP. If anyone wants to make a character that starts in this group please check with me first!). It has been about 6 years since the reaping began with Lilith's selection.

Other current events:
War- The Aezureth Empire is currently plagued by 3 wars.
The first is the war in the heavens. The gods against titans. If course as we know from mythology, the titans were once gods before they were overthrown and sealed away. This event is happening in the cosmos during the time of this RP. Of course, we won't see much of that except the effect it has on the land (chaos is coming). The second war is the civil war of Aezureth over religion. Though obviously the current gods have won over the loyalty of mankind ar the time of this RP, there are many who still practice the "old religion" and worship the titans. This is considered heracy and these people are persecuted.
Lastly there us the war with outside invaders. A foreign country across the ocean is attempting to invade Aezureth for its land and goods.
Economy- in the middle of a great depression. Resources are starting to decrease.

Plot:
Councelor Atticus plans to challenge Emporer Newgate for the crown. He clearly has other motives that are unknown to everyone but his own close followers. We will start this RP when Lilith is 12 just before the takeover. Plan accordingly with your own characters. This allows a little bit of back story and character placement/development but there will be a 5 year time jump. The war with the invaders will be in full swing during this time. The civil war will be on the horizon bit hasn't quite started officially yet.

Name: Jaxah *JaXx*

Age: 16

Race: 2nd generation Demigod

Title: Stormbringer,

Discription:
JaXx is 5'4" tall with a slender muscular build. She has bronze skin and long thick silver hair that falls in messy curls to the middle of her back. Her facial features are mostly round and youthful looking giving her a misleading innocent look that makes her easy to underestimate in battle. Her eyes are her most striking feature due to the almost glowing silvery blue color. Most often, she prefers to wear simple lightweight black leather armor. Though she does have a fuller suit of metal armor (both pictured below) for battle.

Personality: Jaxah's personality is best described as cold and confident. From a very early age she was given the burden of great expectations, especially from her father the current emperor. Though his position does not make her a 'princess' technically, she was still expected to behave and perform like she is. Failure is not an option for her and it is punished severely. This upbringing has given her a very competitive and bold outlook. She has commonly been described as arrogant or stubborn as well. But she is a loyal daughter and she would do anything if her father ordered it though she does her best to live her life with dignity and honor. Her integrity is very important to her and she keeps her word no matter what.

Weapon(s): JaXx carries a pair of swords of different sizes that she wears on each hip. The first, and smaller of the two, is her own custom made for her. It has been enhanced with magic to make it more durable for it's size and to make it a conductor for the elements in her command. The other is obviously much too big to have been made for her. It was her father's given to her as a child. She carries it with her though she only uses it if absolutely necessary.

Powers: Being a second generation descendant of Jupiter the king of the gods and god of storms, JaXx is a powerhouse of magic energy as well as physical strength. She has the ability to conjure devastating storms as well as control fire and electricity elements. Though earth based storms are mostly out of her reach for now (such as quakes).
Her most notable power comes from unknown origins. But if she defeats someone honestly in battle and takes their life, their power is transferred to her. Through this ability she has been able to obtain control of the the wind element as well as a sort of sixth sense in that she can sense the energy and power of living things around her. Every time she develops a new power, she has to learn how to control it which can be tricky and make combat unpredictable (I know it's kind of OP and I promise not to god mod this power. But for reasons later revealed, this power is important to the plot)

Abilities: Aside from the elemental magics listed, JaXx well known for how deadly she is in armed and unarmed combat. She rarely has to use her powers except against stronger enemies. She is also decent with a crossbow though she doesn't respect ranged combat as much.

Goals: To prove herself to her father, to win the loyalty of the people, and to eventually take the throne win the war and save her country.

Bio: JaXx's life has been a never ending parade of respect, fear, and rivalry to overcome. Many in the kingdom respect or fear her for her power and position. Others see her as a target, especially the other demigods among the chosen. She is surrounded by threats and expectations to survive. She is the only daughter of Atticus the Emperor of Azureth and the second chosen for the ascension in her generation. Her mother was also demigod as a daughter of the goddess Diana but she was killed in the wars. Her father is the only parent she remembers. She was chosen to be a possible future ruler at a very young age. Her father was always very strict but also loving and supportive mostly. He had his own flaws but she admired him and wanted to make him proud.
After she was chosen she was sent to start attending classes with the other chosen and to occasionally meet with the Emperor (Newgate at that time) to begin lessons on what makes a good Emperor and whatnot. It was then that she met Lilith, who she quickly developed a dislike for. The two girls but heads frequently and the results of their fights usually left damage to the property. Lilith became her rival and many rumored that the ascension would come down to the two of them some time in the future. However, as the years went by, more discontent spread throughout the country and even in the council. Eventually, when JaXx was 11 her father challenged Emperor Newgate for the throne. Newgate was killed and Atticus took the throne. After that, there was chaos for a while. On that same day, Lilith went missing. JaXx and the rest of the kingdom could only assume she fled for her life or was murdered by one of Newgates enemies in all the confusion. Later, it was revealed to JaXx that Lilith was still alive but it was a secret. She was being held prisoner in the castle and JaXx was left in charge of her care. She was never told why the girl was being kept alive and she never got a straight answer when she asked. She is currently a prominent member in her father's army along with being a caregiver to Lilith and a few of the other prisoners. She will be leaving the castle soon to report to the battle on the coast for a few months.

Name: Raven

Age: unknown (appears to be in early to mid 20s)

Race: Assumed demigod

Title: Archangel

Discription: "Pretty" by popular standard. Raven has brown naturally wavy hair that is usually a mess around her shoulders and back. She has a warm complexion with green eyes that appear more blue in different lighting. She is 5'7" and has a muscular athletic body type. She is most often seen in casual, dark colored clothing that is easy to move in. The heaviest armor she has is pictured below. Most of her attire is more suited for speed and agility than for defense.

Personality: Although she puts up a quiet yet strong front, Raven is quite level headed and kind. You wouldn't know this from her ice-queen exterior though. She tends to be on the more skeptical side when meeting new people and is slow to trust. Because of this, she uses sarcasm as a mechanism to stop people from getting close and really getting to know her. Those who have managed to break through her walls, though, are able to see there is much more to her than she let's on. She is loyal and protective to a fault of those she cares about and has a steady moral code that can be known to get her in to trouble.
Can be a bit of a control freak at times and HATES travelling by horse or by ship for this reason. She does not believe in relying on anyone or anything but herself.

Weapon(s): Raven's sword is about as tall as her and the blade is probably about as wide as one of her forearms is long. There is some minor decoration etched into the blade but not much. For someone who relies more on speed, the sword would appear counter productive but she manages it without trouble. The sword is one of the only belongings she had with her upon waking up with no memories and she never parts with it.
She also carries throwing knives and a bow occasionally but more for hunting than combat.
Her weapons are enchanted only for durability mostly but her sword absorbes magic.

Powers: Unlike most demigods, Ravens power does not seem to directly reflect the power of a known god, which makes it impossible to know for sure which God bloodline she comes from. Most of her active powers are based more on her own will and light than any specific worldly element.
She has the power to trick even some of the strongest minds with powerful illusions, especially if the target is not expecting it.
Often she uses an extension of this power to cloak herself when she's shadowing JaXx and doesn't want anyone to know she's there.
She is also a great healer and uses her magic often to save comrades in battle
She can distort the aura of other beings to her will. The stronger the aura, the more damage she is able to do. The effects can range from slowing down or immobilizing her target to causing great pain.
She is capable of more that will be revealed later.


Abilities: Aside from specific powers, Raven has other abilities that set her apart from normal humans. She is much stronger and faster than even most other demigods (though not all). Among the army and many of the people, she is known to have never been hurt in battle in spite of subduing many enemies. Her speed and stealth are unmatched by any appoint she has faced so far.
She is also a survivor. Having spent quite some time on her own with no memory of who/what she is or where she belongs she had to learn how to survive on her own.
She is a deadly aim with ranged weapons as well.

Goals: To reclaim her memories and find out where she came from. Protect JaXx as her mentor/bodyguard.

Bio: Raven does not remember anything about her life before about 5 years prior to the events of the start of this RP. All she knows is on the same day that Emporer Newgate fell, Raven awoke alone in the desert near Labski. She had no memory of who she was and where she came from. Her only clues were an amulet worn around her neck with a ln interesting pattern (seen in image), her sword, and a tattoo.... or scar? She wasn't quite sure which it was due to it being white and color. But it depicted two wings across her back (these markings would eventually cause her name and her title)
Her past remains a mystery. For a while she wandered the east end of Azureth before being found by the royal army. She was not recognized and attacked. Though 15 soldiers came at her, only 5 of them survived. When questioned, she was assumed a dangeroys spy from the invading armies. She was brought to Atticus for judgment. Atticus took a near instant fondness to her and believed her story. Not only that, but having been told what it actually took to subdue her he admired her strength. After some testing, she was offered a position in the army as his daughters bodyguard and mentor. At first, she refused the offer. But Atticus made the promise that if she stayed, he would do everything in his power to help her to get her memories back. Though she was still somewhat skeptical, she had started to grow fond of JaXx and even Atticus. She accepted but only on the condition that he kept his word. As time grew on, she has grown a sister like bond with JaXx. She is proud of her accomplishments but her distrust in Atticus is growing. He becomes increasingly untrustworthy to Raven and it doesn't help that he has grown a posessive fondness for her. His advances only further solidify her growing dislike for him and she has begun to discretely investigate what he's really up to.



Other: Raven has started to learn certain things about herself that she has decided to keep secret for now.
