Halloween Bash 2014

5th Annual Tournament for the Strange, Scary and Macabre!

Here we are, once again on the precipice of doom. The bodies stir in their graves, hungering for flesh. The shadows grow longer as days grow shorter. Once more, we are faced with pumpkins, cobwebs, changing trees, and the unmistakable chill of autumn in the air. But, as the season rolls around, so does the bloodthirst for battle. So, without further ado, let us begin the fifth annual Halloween Bash!​

And so, to usher in this night in the not so distant future, The Arena invites you, fellow role-players, to participate in the 5rd Annual Halloween Bash! This will be a tournament, to be held in the Arena section of our role-playing community. However, there's one small thing to note: all characters used in the tournament MUST be related to Halloween. This means you'll be making such characters as vampires, werewolves, witches/warlocks, demonic entities, and the like. If it's something relatable to Halloween, then it's welcome to this party!


NOTE: THE LOGISTICS OF THE TOURNAMENT WILL BE DETERMINED AFTER WE'VE GOT A ROSTER SET!

Rules

• All rules mentioned in rule threads for the forum and RP section apply.
• Don't over-power your character(s). Mid-tier powers and abilities will suffice (think general proficiency of magical spells, and such).*
• You are permitted to change characters between rounds. Just make sure you post your character and have it approved BY THE END OF THE ROUND PRIOR.
• You will be judged on the basis of writing, Roleplaying, and battling ability, as well as a player's adherence to the "Halloween" theme.*
• There will be no character sheet skeleton provided. Organize it as you see fit. Just make sure you have everything in it that you intend to use.
• Sign-Ups will run about a week from the posting of this OOC. After that, we go with what we've got.
• Depending on the signups. . . five or less becomes a free-for-all, while six or more combatants becomes a bracket style tournaments. If this becomes a free-for all, the following rules apply.

1. All combatants are on their own. Though they may, if they so desire, utilize their opponents' moves to their advantage if and when possible, they are forbidden from forging alliances.
2. All combatants are required to follow the posting order once decided upon.
3. Should a combatant fail to post within 24 hours of a post by the person before them, their turn shall be forfeited and the next in the order will be permitted to post. Should this occur twice with the same person, then that person WILL be considered eliminated.
4. After each wave of battle, judgment will be made and, one combatant will be eliminated, which will then be followed by the establishment of a new locale. In the event of inactivity, the inactive parties will be automatically eliminated.
5. With the exception of the final round of combat, all damages and depletions incurred over the course of the battle will carry over. In other words, using up a limited spell in the first round will result in being unable to access it until the final round (should you make it).

 

Given that we're sitting at a lovely 4 people, I may very well do this round robin style. I'm not feeling the Kilet mojo this time around.
